I’m halfway through my Kickstart position, and I’ve learned a lot so far.
Today marks the end of my 12th week with G2G, however, it’s also another important date for me today. As it’s already the 18th in South Korea, today marks the anniversary of the passing of an idol of mine. For this reason, I would rather keep my weekly update brief. With my Nana also having passed at this time, it’s a bit of a tough time for me, and I feel like I’ve been lacking energy in the latter half of the week.
The Genshin character I was anticipating for so long did arrive this week, so of course, I wrote a blog on that – please do check it out if you haven’t! Other than an article here and there, I’ve been focused on content descriptions. We were using a slightly different format to usual this week, with sections for features, subtitles, search terms, platform, and PEGI rating. It was fairly easy to adapt to.
Many of you may not be familiar with this person, but perhaps some of you are. I’d like to dedicate the rest of this space to Jonghyun of SHINee, who passed on the 18th of December in 2017. He is missed very dearly for his kind heart and talent.
Jonghyun is one of the few idols to make me feel accepted as a queer person.

He helped countless people by answering their worries in his Radio series, Blue Night, and through the comfort of his music, including myself. His family have opened a charity in his honour, to which his album profits are now directed. The charity aims to help struggling young artists.
Though each year gets easier, I still miss him a lot, as do all SHINee fans. I can only thank his family and the other SHINee members for carrying on his legacy, and I wish them happiness always.
