The new system will reward you for your first games of the day…
343’s latest change aims to make the new battle pass XP system more user-friendly and faster to climb. This evidently shows the developer is actively listening to feedback.
The new Halo XP gains are front-loaded for players logging on for the first time each day and are meant to encourage you to return to play daily. As laid out by Halo community manager John Junyszek, the team’s latest fix rewards large amounts of XP for the first six matches of every day, broken down as follows:
- 1st Game = 300 XP
- 2nd Game = 200 XP
- 3rd Game = 200 XP
- 4th Game = 100 XP
- 5th Game = 100 XP
- 6th Game = 100 XP
For every game you play after the initial half-dozen in a single day, you’ll receive 50 XP, which before this update was the comparatively nominal rate for any daily games played. As you can see, the gains are drastically improved, even as 343 says more changes to the progression system are on the way. The team noted that this was one it was able to make swiftly.
Prior changes by 343 made it, so daily XP gains simply come at a pace of 50 XP per match every single time; the new changes significantly increased those gains.
We’re as eager as you are to see further improvements made to the Halo Infinite battle pass system over time, but suffice it to say, this is an excellent fix in the meantime. See you in the arena, Spartan, at least for six matches or so.
