Strauss Zelnick, Take-Two Interactive’s CEO, discusses the potential of bringing franchises like GTA and BioShock to mobile following the Zynga acquisition.
With only a few months since the disastrous launch of the remastered Grand Theft Auto Trilogy, Take-Two Interactive have been in the news’ greatest articles. However, after paying a great amount of 12.7 billion dollars, the acquisition of mobile game developer Zynga it appears that the company is looking to bring some of their franchises to the mobile market.
During an investor presentation, the Take-Two CEO discussed the Zynga acquisition and showcasing the complementary nature of the two companies’ portfolios in a slide.
Take-Two has had previous success with the mobile industry; bringing several GTA titles, the XCOM games, and some others as well- even if the quality may not be so impressive due to the limitations of a mobile device. This goes on to show that Take-Two are more than willing to broaden their market to the mobile industry. In the Q&A segment of the presentation, Zelnick went deeper on the potential of free-to-play titles on moble, based on Take-Two’s core IPs. (Intellectual Property)
