A New pair of PG 5 trainers have been designed by Nike, Sony and basketball player Paul George, following their previous collaboration of the PG 2.5.
The PG 5 was created with the help of the PS5 designer Yujin Morsawa.According to Sony, ‘the colours of the shoe are heavily inspired by the industrial design of the PS5’, as well as having the PlayStation’s signature circle, square, cross and triangle shapes embedded into the shoe in small details. The trainer also has the PlayStation logo on the tongue of the right shoe, with Paul George’s PG logo on the tongue of the left shoe.
The release of the new trainers follows Nike and PlayStation’s previous collaboration onthe PG 2.5, which was inspired by the design of the original PlayStation console. The company also worked on the PG2, which got its inspiration from the PS4.
The PG 5 trainers will be available to buy in ‘select regions’ on May 14th, whilst arriving in North America on May 27th priced at $120. It is expected that the shoe will sell just as fast as the PS5 console itself.
