Rooster Teeth has come a long way since it first started the longest-running web series, Red vs Blue, let alone when they first started making their long-running computer-animated series, RWBY (pronounced “ruby” for the newcomers). The show has 106 episodes spanning over 8 seasons with a 9th already in the works, a spin-off show, tons of merch, a board game, and now, it’s getting its third video game adaptation.
What We Know About RWBY: Arrowfell
The future-fantasy world of Remnant is filled with ravenous monsters, treacherous terrain, and more villains than you can shake a sniper-scythe at. Fortunately, Beacon Academy is training Huntsmen and Huntresses to battle the evils of the world. Follow Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang as they learn what it takes to be Huntresses and face the perilous world.
RWBY: Arrowfell, announced at the RTX RWBY panel that took place this weekend, is a side-scrolling 2D adventure game that is currently being developed by WayForward (River City Girls and Advance Wars 1+2) and published by Arc System Works.
It is set to follow the events of the 7th season so yes, you will need to be caught up with the show if you don’t want to be spoiled (super easy to do so), and will allow players to play solo or co-op as our favourite huntresses, Team RWBY, otherwise known as Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, and Yang Xiao Long (clever, isn’t it?).
The team will be able to explore Atlas, Mantle, and other locations as they combat against Grimm monsters, other enemies from the show, and new threats. Other characters that will appear in RWBY: Arrowfell are General Ironwood, the Ace Operatives, and an exclusive new team of huntresses called Team BRIR (pronounced “brrr”?).
RWBY: Arrowfell is also set to feature voiceovers from the show’s cast, an original score by Dale North with vocals by Casey Lee Williams, and exclusive animated cutscenes.
But the best news yet is that the game will feature both local and online co-op gameplay.

RWBY: Arrowfell is set to be released in 2022 with digital and physical versions for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC.
