That’s right folks, during the latest GTAV Online Contract DLC missions, a surprised player happened upon a glitch that magically gave their female character a big beautiful bushy beard! I hi-lariously dub this ‘the Ladybeard glitch’, in loving reference to pro-wrestler and stunt man, Ladybeard. For more on him, have a butcher’s at this podcast interview with the lad, tis a fun watch.

On the GTA Online subreddit, user FudgeControl shared an image of their player character sitting alongside Franklin Clinton (one of the three story mode protagonists of GTAV)… I’m sorry, but if you’ll indulge my lizard-brain tendency to find connections in everything, is it me or is FudgeControl’s character not the spitting image of soy-hater (and soy salesman) Paul Joseph Watson? Food for thought folks!

Rockstar Games (to my knowledge) has not addressed how this hi-larious glitch came about, but players have theorised it may be to do with having multiple custom characters in the GTAV Online Mode.

Some players also reported having their character’s makeup and hair (facial and otherwise) transported onto other characters in cutscenes! I mean, imagine Franklin walking down the street with a blonde Karen haircut and asking to speak to the manager at Shaft Hotdogs because it tasted more like JK Rowling than Jammidodger!

Female custom characters don’t normally have access to facial hair options in GTAV, so ironically enough, the devs at Rockstar kinda shot themselves in the foot as far as a potential solution to the problem goes. I mean, if woman characters were able to have beards all along, then FudgeControl could’ve just flipped a switch on the character creation board and called it a day. There’s also been some discussion among fans that it’s a shame the option to have bearded women doesn’t really exist in GTAV or Red Dead Redemption 2, some of the biggest Rockstar games of all time. I mean, the devs at RDR2 especially make such a big song and dance about realism that they implemented true-to-life shrinking horse-bollocks for Sobek‘s sake! So, I’m pretty sure incorporating facial hair for all the Lettie Lutzes of the world wouldn’t be too much more of a stretch.

Besides new cosmetic options and outfits, GTA Online hasn’t announced any plans for new facial hair options.

GTA 5 is available now on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions in development.

The Optional Cutscene: We have fuller breakdowns on Activision Blizzard‘s legal settlement, the lawsuit and related accusations to company members, but the seriousness of the controversies are so severe that I had to scroll through EIGHT LINKS of news stories on Google just to find the company website! To summarize the key points though: The workplace fostered a “frat boy” culture of casual sexual harassment of women, especially towards people of colour. One known instance resulted in a blackmailed employee taking her own life and the company has made a point of donating to anti-union companies to prevent effected employees from combating the corruption of Activision Blizzard’s heads, whom even partook in a “Cosby Suite“. Let’s just say it wasn’t exactly an innocently unknowing homage for fans of The Cosby Show.

The Tutorial Report:

On November 16th, a Wallstreet Journal report claimed that Bobby Kotic, Activision CEO, was indeed, aware of the malpractice and misconduct allegations happening at the company. The report even went so far as to say Bobby Kotic himself mistreated female workers (and on a similar note, there was even an allegation of a death threat if Twitter discourse is to be believed… Which is to say, rarely, but when it’s right, it’s right on the money, unlike Konami).

As reported via Bloomberg article, Jim Ryan (boss at PlayStation) sent an email to employees shortly after the Wallstreet Journal report, wherein he expressed shock that Activision “has not done enough to address a deep-seated culture of discrimination and harassment”.

The report goes on to name-drop Call of Duty developer companies Treyarch and Sledgehammer Games as guilty studios partaking in the mistreatment of workers

“We outreached to Activision immediately after the article was published to express our deep concern and to ask how they plan to address the claims made in the article […] We do not believe their statements of response properly address the situation” – Jim Ryan

Considering how many fingers Activision has had in assorted pies of the gaming world before the controversy leaked, none too surprising the folks at PlayStation have a reason to condemn Activision, as the company helped in the development of many successful franchises. Said titles include Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Call of Duty, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, World of Warcraft and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater. If you want to try any of these admittedly great games without supporting the company itself, then have a look round the Go2Games store.

And for the admittedly slim minority of you that think this is a case of “virtue signalling” or disingenuous “woke“-point scoring, then I point you to the one-two-combo of Hbomberguy videos on Woke Branding and Virtue Signalling. Which is to say “fair enough, companies are not your friend, 99.99% of the time they do stuff because it’s profitable first” (unless you’re Konami) while at the same time also acknowledging that signalling your agreement with a certain virtue does not mean the virtue itself is a bad one… And heck, to diversify things a little, maybe try Tara Mooknee’s Virtue vs Vice Signalling. I have it on good authority that her episodes are in fact written by a cow that may appear in the next video if you like and subscribe!

During the MIX Next showcase for indie games that are coming soon, Wartales had the release of its early access version announced for December 1st.

To clarify, that’s Wartales as in War Tales, not Wart Ales. Like, not to turn this into a roast, but y’all really couldn’t have just capitalized the T? You know you messed up in your naming when it results in a leftist advocating for capitalism!

Shiro Games are the developing company behind Wartales, a medieval open-world RPG seeing you act as manager to a rag-tag group of mercenaries you’ve picked out. The combat system relies on turn-based tile-moving tactics, similar to the ‘Fire Emblem’ games or ‘South Park: The Fractured But Whole‘, which if my days watching letsplays by DashieGames and Jacksepticeye are anything to go by, is actually pretty fun. Story: Set in the medieval fantasy world of Edoran, which is ironic because that name literally combines my favourite ancient Japanese historical era with my favourite Akira Kurosawa film! That’d be like calling a vegan fast food brand Steakham!

The Wartales universe is plagued by a totally non-topical and definitely coincidental plague, so in an attempt to make the best from a bad situation, you squad up with the lads to form your own ‘war brand’ and find a king or lord who’ll pay you to give opposing forces a case of the shanked jankers.

Gameplay Depth: Outside combat, other important actions at the end of each in-game ‘working week’ include distributing wages and managing morale. You’ll also be responsible for feeding your crew. This combination of mechanics sounds interesting in-part because it reminds me a lot of an interesting video on ludo-narrative dissonance in Darkest Dungeon, which has similar mechanics. Said video was made by one Harry Michael Brewis (AKA Hbomberguy, AKA H-bomb, AKA Fellow Mind-Brain Explordinaire), who has a knack for fitting videos about video games, film and political discourse all under one roof.

With the ‘full cross-generation compatibility’ function on Xbox consoles, one can transfer their progress on Elden Ring from one console to another. For example, if I was on Xbox One X at home, but wanted to bring my copy of the game to Tinybox Tim‘s house without losing progress, I could yeet it out the console, ram it into Timmy’s Xbox Series S, Bob’s your Uncle, Fanny’s your aunt!

Now with all that out the way, here’s My Personal Opinion on the Graphics Sitch: Honestly, all them are great. I say this as someone who couldn’t set up a Twitch stream, let alone a gaming PC, but all in all, good stuff all around. Now, those of you who clicked on this are probably really into super-ultra-mega-sexy high quality graphics and that’s completely cool, the heart wants what the heart wants. That said, taking this extra bit of wiggle room in my word count to say graphics aren’t always the be-all end-all of a good gaming experience. Easy to say now considering a game “looking good” is basically the barest minimum of positive praise that even most bad games today can get, but mechanics are important too. All about that yin-yang balance y’all.
