Happy days for players of Death Stranding who have upgraded to PS5 as come 24th September, the Director’s Cut is finally dropping and is enhanced for the PS5’s capabilities. However, unlike most upgrades, the jump will only cost an extra £5.

The game was already big enough as it was, but if it left you wanting more, then you’re in luck as it’s

“packed with a ton of new content and enhanced gameplay features.”” As well as these improvements, there’s also, “”more weapons, equipment and vehicles, a variety of new modes, missions and areas to explore, expanded storylines, and enhancements to the UI”

sounds like that £5 is paying for a lot of extra material!

The upgrades to the game include using the PS5’s haptic feedback in the DualSense controller whilst adding use to the adaptive trigger resistance that many FPS games are utilising now. In addition, the 3D audio capability of the PS5 comes into effect within Death Stranding Directors Cut, although a compatible headset will have to be paired. There are also two picture modes to choose from, performance mode, experiencing as Norman Reedus in 4K and up to 60FPS, alternatively opt for fidelity mode, viewed in native 4K.
Come Friday, 24th September, all you’ll have to do Is load up Death Stranding, then pay £5 to upgrade to the director’s cut to enjoy all Hideo Kojima’s brilliant mind has put into the new version of the game.

A data miner has uncovered what seems to be the shelved multiplayer assets for The Last of Us 2…

A data miner, going by the name of Speclizer, recently shared what is allegedly multiplayer assets for The Last of Us 2. These multiplayer assets hint towards a Battle Royale mode that could have potentially come to Naughty Dog’s title.

Speclizer highlights what seems to be a prop displaying a big multiplayer map with several locations from The Last of Us 2’s single-player campaign, including Adler Park, Camallito, and Port of Camallito. The map also includes several points of interest like Gas Station, Nature Center, Estate, and Motel.

It’s not just the size and layout of the map that suggests a The Last of Us 2 battle royale mode may have been in the works. As Speclizer points out, the hidden multiplayer files also revealed other genre trademarks, including a compass, player count, and emote wheel.

The Last of Us 2 was originally supposed to have an online multiplayer component at launch, but Naughty Dog shelved it to focus on the single-player experience. At the time, the studio confirmed that a Factions successor (the first entry’s multiplayer mode) was still in development in some form but that it wouldn’t be part of The Last of Us 2. The most common assumption seems to be that Factions 2 will be a standalone release set in the same universe as The Last of Us 2.

It’s worth noting, though, that none of this is official. Even if these assets were legitimately developed, there’s no guarantee that any of them will make it to developer Naughty Dog’s standalone multiplayer title. Furthermore, neither the studio nor publisher Sony has commented on what Speclizer has found.

While Naughty Dog has been pretty quiet about its confirmed standalone The Last of Us multiplayer experience, more details have slowly emerged, such as job postings from June highlighting the developer’s vision for the title.

God of War is coming to PlayStation Now on PC today…

2018’s God of War is one of Sony’s crown Jewel exclusives. Amidst the environment of Xbox’s increased acquisitions of studios, the exclusivity of this franchise is as important as ever to Sony. However, PC players can finally get their hands on God of War through PlayStation’s streaming service today (among other titles). PlayStation Now is accessible on PC despite being a PlayStation service (similar to Xbox’s Game Pass in that respect).

Why is this game so loved? The game took a franchise that was arguably on its last legs and created an iconic gaming experience that fans have cherished and will continue to do so for years to come. This God of War takes our beloved protagonist, Kratos, down a different, more challenging path, fatherhood, whilst he is simultaneously targeted by the Gods of Norse mythology. The quality of this game was unprecedented in many respects; alongside Bloodborne and The Last of Us games, it is one of the best exclusives the PlayStation 4 has had.

PC players who haven’t been able to experience this historical masterclass in gaming production can now do so. Of course, PC players cannot simply purchase the game (i.e. on Steam). They must access the game through PlayStation’s subscription service. Sony says on its site that you’ll need a DualShock 4, but other third-party pads do work with the service, with the obvious caveat that you won’t be able to use touchscreen functionality (as I recall, this is not a major element in God of War).

Sony has officially cut the price of The Order: 1886

When released in February earlier this year, The Order: 1886 didn’t do as well as expected. Quite a few retailers began slashing the price of the game quite a bit soon after it’s release. Some offered it for half of it’s original price.

Both Amazon and Best Buy, just last month, were selling off their stock of the game for just $20 (near enough £13) which is the cheapest it has ever been. Sony has now officially cut the price of the game themselves. The official MRSP on the game is now $40 (around £26), which is actually still more than most retailers are selling it for. Amazon are selling the game for $30 (about £19.50).

The Order: 1886 was actually the first big flop on the PS4. So much so, that Sony has actually cut ties with the game’s developer, and they did so just after a month of the game’s release.

The Tomorrow Children

Developer of the PixelJunk series, Q-Games, has announced a release date for it’s brand new game – The Tomorrow Children. President and executive producer at the studio, Dylan Cuthbert, has said that the genre-bending PS4 exclusive is most probably going to be made available this Autumn 2015, so between September and November most likely.

The Tomorrow Children combines shooting, world-building, resource gathering and management, tower defence, strategy, and multiplayer co-op. The game was revealed back in 2014 at Gamescon. We hear further news from Cuthbert about the game, as he says that the team have been “adding tons of new features previously unseen in trailers and the closed alpha last fall” and “enriching the story and setting.”

“Although the world of The Tomorrow Children is encased in the bleak Void, life still flourishes as humanity claws its way back from the brink of extinction, and players in the roles of Projection Clones will take that life into their own hands,” Cuthbert has stated. “Players will take control of the fate of their town and eventually the world itself as they build up and expand it from a nearly empty outpost into a lively home filled with shops, facilities, and even a home of their very own, all while defending everything they’ve built in life and death struggles with invaders from the edges of existence.”

The Order: 1886

Photo Mode is coming to the highly successful PS4 Exclusive!

It has recently come to light that the PS4 Exclusive, The Order: 1886, will be receiving a Photo Mode. This was teased back in February and will be joining in with other PS4 Exclusives such as The Last of Us Remastered and Infamous: Second Son.

According to the PlayStation Blog, this mode will be arriving on the game’s latest patch, and has also come with a tutorial video to show how it works. You can watch the video HERE.

Do remember though that enabling this new photo mode will turn off the game’s Camera Bias option, if it is enabled!

DELAYED – Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

One of the most eagerly awaited games of 2015 has been delayed, by Sony, until Spring 2016… Nooooooo!!

This news has deeply distressed me, and it has probably distressed you all too?! For one of the most anticipated games of 2015, Sony has announced the delay of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End to Spring 2016. The two directors who’re heading project, Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley of Naughty Dog, have said that they felt the delay necessary so that the game completely lives up to the expectations of it’s fans.

“Since we showed you our first gameplay reveal of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, more of the game and story have come together, and it’s become clear to us that this game is much more ambitious than we originally envisioned,” which came from Druckmann and Straley in a prepared statement. “After spending so many years with Nathan Drake, he means a lot to the team, and telling the climactic chapter of his adventures is a task we don’t take lightly–this game deserves every bit of the attention to detail, precise pacing, and nuanced storytelling Naughty Dog is known for.”

“So we’ve made the difficult choice of pushing the game’s release date. Giving us a few extra months will make certain that Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End not only meets the team’s high standards but the high standards that gamers have come to expect from a Naughty Dog title.”, the two directors concluded.

Uncharted 4 was set to release this year (2015) at some point, but a release date was not yet decided. There was bound to be frustration in fans coming to accept this, but Straley said that they understood – “Thank you for your patience–we know the extra wait will be excruciating, but you’ll see it will be worth it as we reveal more about Uncharted 4 over the next year,”. “The team at Naughty Dog will be heads down working through 2015 making sure that Nathan Drake’s story gets the closure it deserves. Come spring 2016, you and Nate are in for one thrilling, emotional ride.”

The Order: 1886

A brand new story trailer has been released for the PS4 Exclusive

Ready at Dawn’s upcoming game, which is due to ship in February, has been highlighted with a brand-spanking new story trailer which Sony has released today. This release is following Monday’s announcement that The Order: 1886 had gone gold.

This story trailer introduces the viewers to developer Ready at Dawn’s Victorian Era London. This is also showing off the characters, weapons, environments and much more that the players will encounter along the way. 

The game was originally set to release in 2014 but, like so many other games, inevitably saw itself slipping into 2015. It’s totally worth the wait though! The now set release date is 20th February 2015.
