The renowned Japanese videogame giants and publishing house behind legendary and iconic gaming franchises such as StreetFighter, Megaman, Resident Evil and Monster Hunter, Capcom have listed their “All time best-selling videogames“

Capcom have compiled and listed their entire historys released titles and compiled them into the All-time best selling with over 100 of Capcoms titles surpassing 1M units with not surprisingly Monster Hunter World being far and away Capcoms most successful franchise to date leading the pack at a monstrous 18M units sold which released in 2018 on all major formats.

At a distant second place surprisingly at 10.8 M units sold to date is the critically acclaimed Resident Evil 7 which was a successful soft reboot of the franchise that  preceded Monster Hunter World a year earlier.

Within Capcoms top10 it is not surprisingly dominated by variations and spin offs of the Monster Hunter series leading the charge with recent entries of Resident Evil and Street Fighter also making up the list.

The oldest Capcom title to get into the top10 is StreetFighter 2 which released all the way back in 1992 on the now legendary SNES at a 6.3M units sold to date with somewhat surprisingly the latest Street Fighter V which released in 2016 trailing by a whisker at 6.2M units sold to date.

Classic Games like Darkstalkers, Super Gem Fighter, and more announced with Rollback Netcode

For this past week, the Capcom Countdown had been leading to games that many Capcom fans have been speculating about. Going to it would only yield a gray background with a white timer, saying 06 Days 15 Hours, for example. After much time had passed and many speculations had been made, just before the announcement of Street Fighter 6, the Capcom Fighting Collection had been announced.

The Capcom Fighting Collection puts ten iconic fighting games from Capcom’s into one convenient collection, all of them equipped with online play, rollback netcode, lobby systems, and more. Check out the trailer below:

The Capcom Fighting Collection brings legends from Capcom’s arcade days back with new features suited for this online generation; each one of the games is faithfully reproduced to play as they did back in the arcades. In addition, each of the games will now support rollback netcode so players can battle their friends from across the world without much issue.

The games included in the Capcom Fighting Collection are the following:

• Vampire Savior
• Vampire Savior 2
• Darkstalkers
• Night Warriors
• Vampire Hunter 2
• Cyberbots
• Red Earth
• Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo
• Hyper Street Fighter II
• Super Gem Fighter -Mini Mix-

Each of the games will also bring several “Quality of Life” updates that will make the gaming experience much more accesible for newer players. Each game will have features such as CPU Difficulty Settings, Quick Saves, and Button Customization options. That way, players can customize their fighting game experience to their liking.

Red Earth will also be featured. This game from 1996 is finally going to make its debut on PC and home consoles through the Capcom Fighting Collection. The collection will also have several additional modes such as Fighter Awards, Training Mode, and even a Museum with over 500 individual pages of art and design documentation, including some that have never been released before.

Capcom Fighting Collection will release on June 24th, 2022 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC via Steam, and Nintendo Switch.

The beloved staple in the fighting game industry is revealed to have a sequel with more information coming this summer

A countdown that video game publisher Capcom has posted had ended to reveal a new Street Fighter 6 is in development. The impressive new look for the franchise is teased in this teaser trailer:

This teaser trailer had debuted on the weekend following the Capcom Pro Tour finals, after revealing Capcom Fighting Collection — a collection of 90s Capcom fighters with new online capabilities. The Street Fighter 6 trailer, however, featured a more realistic looking and sweat-soaked bearded Ryu standing against Luke, a downloadable newcomer in Street Fighter V who had been said to play a prominent role in this installment of Street Fighter. While no details have been shared, Capcom looks to be aiming for a more realistic and Tekken-like tone for its new fighting installment.

Street Fighter 6 remains without a release date but Capcom has promised to announce more this summer, which speculations have led to be during the Summer Game Fest 2022 between June and July.

Street Fighter 6 had been previously rumored to be released during autumn 2021 before it had been delayed to 2022. This was most likely due to Capcom being satisfied with how the new installment was turning out. This may be backed up with Street Fighter 5 receiving a new season pass at the last minute, in order to give Capcom more time to spend on tweaking and finalizing Street Fighter 6.

A notable development to be mindful of is that according to leaked documents, during a time when Capcom was held hostage in a ransomware cyberattack, a direction that Street Fighter 6 will pursue will aim for less sexualization of its female characters. The publisher apparently regrets its past decisions that were highlighted in previous games, such as the eventually censored “butt slap” that R. Mika had done during her Critical Art in Street Fighter 5, and will now be looking to significantly improve gender representation for the female cast.

The last mainline installment in Street Fighter was Street Fighter 5 which was released back in 2016 as a console exclusive for PlayStation 4. An intriguing consideration circulating online is which platforms it will be released on, whether it will be a PlayStation exclusive or be playable on the Xbox as well.

We will have to find out once Capcom announces more during the summer!

The King of Fighters ALLSTAR and Street Fighter Collaborate on a new fighting experience

Netmarble has just revealed an exciting collaboration that fighting fans across the world would have some excitement for – The King of Fighters ALLSTAR will be joining forces with Street Fighter on mobile. Pre-registration will begin on March 15th, and eager fans can check out the roster of characters that will be revealed in the next few days on the teaser site.

In The King of Fighters ALLSTAR, two legendary franchises in the genre collide as Ryu, Chun-Li and more join the fight. The mobile action role-playing game is teaming up with Capcom with a special Street Fighter Collab Eve Coupon.

Players can expect new content in the next few weeks. In particular, the “Dispatch” content rewards players with prizes as time passes, while the “Dream match” PvP event pits fighters against each other regardless of the rank or specification. Players’ favourite heroes will be able to rise above the ranks with the new “Change Up” growth system – plus, the All-Star Archive lets you archive fighters to score an emblem with special abilities.

There isn’t that much detail about the collab event, but if you’re eager to give the game a go yourself, you can download The King of Fighters ALLSTAR on the Google Play Store for Android devices and on the iOS App Store for Apple devices. It’s free-to-play and has in-app purchases. As of right, there are less than 6 days until the clock reaches zero, although what exactly that means is unclear, but there has been a lot of speculation on what it may be. Right now there are two major theories. One revolves arround the fact tha the current Capcom Pro Tour for street fighter 5 will end on february 20th, the same day the countdown is set to end, which would make a good opportunity for capcom to announce streetfighter 6.

Streetfighter 5 came out 6 years ago now and capcom has also recently mentioned that it is looking ahead to “the future of Street Fighter”. There where also rumors back in 2020 that street fighter 6 had been delayed back to this year, due to capcom not beind happy with the games mechanics.

The other main option would be the Rumored Resident Evil 4 Remake, which has not been officially announced as even being real. The clocks font does bare resemblance to the Font used in the recent resident evil 2 and 3 remakes. It has also recently rumored that this game (which again, we dont even know is real) will be switching timelines and going for a darker tone than the original Resident evil 4. Now, personally, I think this is a horrible Idea. Resident Evil 4 is beloved in part for how stupid it is, and taking the game in a darker direction for a remake would ruin that otherwise perfect vibe.

Either way, it will be interesting to see what comes of this when the count reaches zero.

There are few more Iconic names in the fighting game space than Capcom’s Street Fighter franchise. Starting in the arcades in 1987, before *really* starting in 1991 (street fighter 1 is notoriously awful, Streetfighter 2 is effectively the real “First game”). The series has always been known for making new versions of their games along the way, and that trend may continue soon. 

Recently, Capcom Tweeted saying that it will be celebrating the 35th anniversary of the street fighter franchise. Along with this tweet capcom released a new image featuring all of the franchises most Iconic Characters, Such as Ryu, M.Bison and Akuma. This, however, was not the only news for fans of the streetfighter franchise.

The Japanese StreetFighter Twitter account also put out a (mostly) identical tweet, however it featured an extra sentence with some interesting details. The Tweet roughly translates as saying “please look forward to the future development of the street fighter series”, teasing there may be more news for street fighter coming in the not too distant future.

Besides this, Capcom also has another huge anniversary coming up in the next few years, with the hugely popular Monster Hunter franchise in 2024, as revealed by ryozo Tsujumoto in an interview with the legendary japanese publication Famitsu.

For streetfighters 35th anniversary, Capcom could easily release another compilation, similar to the street fighter 30th anniversy collection from 2018 (god was that 5 years ago? bruh), which included 12 older entries in the franchise, including the original streetfighter, as well as Street fighter 2, street fighter Alpha, and Street Fighter 3. Before that, there was the streetfighter 25th anniversary – Collectors set. Whatever we end up getting, fans will have to wait and see what capcom has planned for them when it makes its announcements on the next development for the streetfighter franchise.

Okay, let’s get the obvious reason out of the way, Capcom Cup 2021 and the Street Fighter League World Championships 2021 LITERALLY can’t happen! It’s 2022 for Dio’s sake!

On a simultaneously more AND less obvious note, Capcom, the company behind hit franchises Street Fighter and Resident Evil, have decided to cancel the Capcom Cup gaming tournament due to rising COVID-19 cases and concerns around omicron. This marks the second time Capcom has cancelled in-person events for this reason.

Rather than the initially planned February ’22 date, the event will instead take place online.

On a vaguely related note… Nintendo. Honey. Baby. My adorable f*ck-master of galactic destruction. Maybe take a couple notes from Capcom on this and DON’T give third-party tournament organizers a hard time for doing something that LITERALLY promotes your games! The new DLC is purchasable from today onwards.

The release date for Street Fighter V’s latest addition, Luke, is today (29th November). In anticipation, Capcom released a new trailer giving players an in-depth look at what to expect, allowing us to decide whether we want to invest in the new DLC. The new trailer focuses entirely on gameplay, primarily based around his move-set. People can see him use all of his standard and special attacks against some familiar faces.

You can watch the trailer below:

First, he uses some of his general moves against Ryu. To help make things easier to understand, Capcom offered extra insight for special moves. Once Luke starts using his V-Reversal, V-Shift, V-Skill, and V-Trigger Skills, there are labels. These let you know what each move is and its name. These tend to come up when he’s fighting Guile.

As a reminder, you don’t just get Luke when you buy his DLC. You also get several things related to him. For example, his story and battle costumes are both there. You can see one of them in the latest trailer for him. You also get additional colours for him. There’s a Fighter Profile Theme and a special title.

Street Fighter V is available for the PlayStation 4 and PC, purchasable from our Go2Games website. The Luke DLC goes live today. He joins other Season Pass 5 characters like Akira, Dan, Rose, and Oro.

In other news, October and November have seen some big next-gen titles released, including Call of Duty: Vanguard, Battlefield 2042, FIFA 22, Far Cry 6, and Left 4 Dead’s spiritual successor, Back 4 Blood. New monsters, costumes, and an expanded ending are coming to Monster Hunter Rise

Capcom has announced the superb Monster Hunter Rise will include all post-launch content so far released for the Switch version when it makes its way to Steam on 12th January.

Since its release on Switch back in March, Capcom has released a steady flow of post-launch content for Monster Hunter Rise. From big things such as new creatures and a proper conclusion to the Kamura Village story arc – to fun smaller additions, including a series of ‘collaborations’ based on various video game properties.

In a new post shared on Steam, Capcom has confirmed that Monster Hunter Rise will include all content featured in the Switch edition up to its most recent Ver.3.6.1 update when it arrives in January, and notes all future post-launch content releases will be synched between the two versions starting at the end of February. Unfortunately, cross-platform play and cross-saves will not be supported.

This news means PC players will be able to tackle Teostra, Chameleos, Kushala Daora, Crimson Glow Valstrax, Apex Diablos, Apex Rathalos, and Apex Zinogre alongside all the base game monsters on launch day.

Additional content includes an ability to have access to the core quest line’s new ending. plus six crossover costumes (and associated quests) based Monster Hunter Stories 2, Okami, Street Fighter, Mega Man 11, Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection, and Sonic the Hedgehog. In addition, Monster Hunter Rise will be getting a “massive” paid expansion, titled Sunbreak.

This is due to arrive on Switch and Steam next summer.

What an exciting crossover this is going to be. Ubisoft’s Brawlhalla have announced their free-to-play platform fighter will introduce  Street Fighter characters to its increasing roster. The big names included in this will be Ryu, Chun-Li and Akuma, who will all be wearing their classic costumes. Additionally, fans will be treated with their iconic special moves including Ryu’s Hadoken, Chun-Li’s Spinning Bird Kick and Akuma’s Tasumaki Zankukyaku.

Alongside this will be new character skins, as well as a new game mode titled Street Brawl. This means that players will battle in a traditional 2D fighting game style with classic health bars and the winner being first-to-three rounds. Not only this, but it will be in a completely sectioned off arena where players will be able to complete unique combos and juggles not seen in any other game mode.

Lastly, this new update will feature a new K.O effect inspired from the Street Fighter series. Other inspirations include a new 1v1 map based on the classic Suzaku Castle from Street Fighter II. Luckily for fans, the content doesn’t have an expiration date meaning it will become a permanent addition to the game. Street Fighter and Brawlhalla Fans Unite

Obviously, this update demonstrates just how far Brawlhalla has come. Originally, it was a a small free-to-play platform with a niche following, but now it seems to have finally reached the top level. It is a clear example that in order to be a successful fighting game you do not need to be a Super Smash Bros. replica. Despite being similar at face value, the two games game play has a wide variety of differences, perfect for fans of both games. Not only this, but they both quite clearly have very impressive DLC, which is also great for fans looking for additional content.

Ryu appearances in Brawhalla marks an impressive portfolio of gaming franchises he’s appeared in now. We’ve seen him introduced in Fortnite, Super Smash Bros, Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid, and now in Brawlhalla. As a result, his reputation as a “Wandering Warrior” is very much still in tact. However, that doesn’t mean he intends to stop his pursuits there, as we would not be surprised to see him making further appearances in other gaming franchises in the future.
