Okay, let’s get the obvious reason out of the way, Capcom Cup 2021 and the Street Fighter League World Championships 2021 LITERALLY can’t happen! It’s 2022 for Dio’s sake!
On a simultaneously more AND less obvious note, Capcom, the company behind hit franchises Street Fighter and Resident Evil, have decided to cancel the Capcom Cup gaming tournament due to rising COVID-19 cases and concerns around omicron. This marks the second time Capcom has cancelled in-person events for this reason.
Rather than the initially planned February ’22 date, the event will instead take place online.
On a vaguely related note… Nintendo. Honey. Baby. My adorable f*ck-master of galactic destruction. Maybe take a couple notes from Capcom on this and DON’T give third-party tournament organizers a hard time for doing something that LITERALLY promotes your games! For more on that, check this article on the topic and if you’re a slightly-insane lefty with a penchant for deep-voiced political commentators, maybe also MoistCritical’s video on the topic here.
Now, in case Nintendo happen to coincidentally release a video to their YouTube channel showing they’ve been contributing to charity causes for starving folks in Africa or the like, here’s a significantly less Nintendo-critical article. BOOM. Both-sides successfully covered.
Due to the rising cases of COVID-19 and after careful consideration, Capcom once again finds itself in the difficult position of having to cancel #CAPCOMCUP. We will be producing an online season final similar to last year. #CPT2021 #SFL2021 details following: pic.twitter.com/BwW8YqN9F4

It’s been quite some time since I’ve written original Product Poems, so strap down and sit on, it’s story time!
There once was a SteamPunk called Tina! Who pals around with her mate, Kena! Kick-punching baddies, not bahdies, bad-laddies, with style just like Ballerina.
Ode to Nintendo: Hundred and sixty-six products here, yo!
Capcom Bolero: “Lucky” 13… ‘Bout dat Vampire Booba!
“I’m Lottie, please take me… Wait, wha- NO! Not like that, pervert”!
