Has Kunal Nayyar just hinted that the Big Bang Theory will end after season 10? Nayyar, who plays Raj Koothrappali in the show, appeared at MCM Comic-Con London this weekend and dropped the news of the potential end of the show.
When appearing at MCM London, Nayyar said “Look, next season, as it stands on our contract, could be the last season of Big Bang Theory.” The 10th season of the show will air in September in the US and there have been no signs that the show will continue after the upcoming season.
Nayyar also said “To be completely honest…I know people are gonna want to know what happens after season 10. I don’t know what’s going to happen.”
Although Nayyar has put the future of the show into doubt, Chuck Lorre has previously said, “It’s already gone beyond my wildest dreams so anything beyond this … as long as everybody is having a good time and we’re making a show we’re proud of … then it’s worth continuing.”
The decision on whether to end the show or renew it comes down to CBS. Let’s hope that they don’t take the nerds off of our screen after a fantastic 10 years.
