A product called The Matrix Awakens has reportedly leaked ahead of an official reveal
A promotional image for the product, which is billed as an “Unreal Engine 5 experience,” had been published on the PlayStation Network backend with no further details other than it exists for PS5 (via Reddit).
It’s unclear if The Matrix Awakens will be a full game or some sort of film tie-in that uses Epic‘s game engine.

The fourth installment in The Matrix movie franchise comes to cinemas later this month.
Directed by Lana Wachowski, The Matrix Resurrections is the sequel to 2003’s The Matrix Revolutions.
Time will have to tell if the upcoming Matrix film will be a commercial or critical success — but the success of this game would be largely dependent on the film. Hopefully, they both will, and they generate great and genuine success for the studios behind them, to cement and solidify the legacy of The Matrix franchise as it makes its return.
