Rejoice Prince Of Persia fans! It looks like Ubisoft is going to be making a yet unannounced game for the legendary series. This is all according to an Xfire report by industry insider Tom Henderson, who hinted at it being a 2.5D game which has taken inspiration from Moon Studios’ Ori series. Who’s excited for this one then?
Reports suggest that it will be Ubisoft Montepellier taking on the task, alongside a few other Ubisoft studios. Not only this, but it seems that the game will be part of a long list of other announced Ubisoft titles, with a supposed twenty games being lined up for a reveal in the not so distant future. These games could include Immortals Fenyx Rising sequel, The Crew 3 and Assassin’s Creed Rift.
Henderson went on to explain that Ubisoft are planning a huge digital showcase. Unfortunately, due to recent world events, we haven’t got that showcase as of yet, with it supposed to air prior to a potential E3 show in the summer. Obviously, that makes complete sense, so we must be patient for the eventual reveal.
The French company had its first fully digital conference, Ubisoft Forward, in July 2020. It proved to be a huge success, with record breaking viewership numbers indicating that the company wouldn’t be afraid to do it that way again. This subsequently led to Ubisoft Forward events being held in September 2020 and June 2021.
Following several delays, Ubisoft is planning to release its Prince of Persia Sands of Time Remake during its next fiscal year, which ends on March 31, 2023. It sounds like they’re really keen to get the series back up and going again, and we certainly cannot wait to see how it pans out!
