Vampyr – The RPG about a vampire doctor
Vampyr was revealed back in January this year and, to break it down, you will play a s a doctor-turned vampire in the immediate aftermath of the First World War, and must reconcile your commitment to the Hippocratic Oath with your desire to suck the blood out of everything with a pulse. That’s already caught our attention!
Dontnod, the developer, has said – “Carefully study the habits of your next victim, his or her relationships with other characters, and set up your strategy to feed, unnoticed: seduce them, change their daily habits, or make sure they end up alone in a dark street,”. You can pretty much feed on anyone in the game, even those who provide you with quests and who WILL be missed. “Be careful who you choose to hunt, as they will be gone forever, and their death will impact in a meaningful way the world that surrounds you.”
Not feeding is NOT an option in this game! Human blood is also very necessary in order to unlock all new vampiric powers, which you can use throughout the game. the need to feed even more comes when you take damage or use your supernatural powers, as these two things drain you of blood.
There is a little scepticism as to whether the game will do well or not. Remember Me didn’t do as well as the studio had hoped, but the first episode of Life is Strange went on to do quite well.
Below, you can take a look at the concept teaser. We have high hopes for it. You play a vampire.. What’s not to like?!
