The absence has finally been filled, over a year after the Xbox Series X | S.
For many of us, consoles aren’t just for playing video games. It’s a hub of social interaction and entertainment. I probably spend way more time watching YouTube and Netflix on my Xbox than I do gaming – and that’s not to say that I don’t spend a lot of time gaming.
Not being able to access certain apps on your console can be a big hindrance, as you end up having to move into another room or use a different device to view the content you want to see. Xbox has been pretty on top of making all apps possible available, which makes sense when you consider that Game Pass Ultimate comes with huge perks such as free Spotify Premium and Crunchyroll.
Until now, PlayStation was lacking one of the UK essentials of streaming services: BBC iPlayer.
Thankfully, the service has been added just in time for the holiday season, as announced in a BBC blog post. Now you can access a ton of great movies and shows on your PS5, including Peaky Blinders and Normal People, or get into the festive spirit with Nativity!
