Alan Wake 2 will feature first games cast - Get2Gaming

Alan Wake

This Game awards was a good time for long overdue sequels, with appearances from Homeworld 3, Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 and, of course, the highly Anticipated Alan Wake 2. Sequel to the criminally underrated cult classic Horror adventure game, Alan Wake 2 has been through the development wringer, being canceled and restarted more times than I can count.

Sam Lake, A key developer on Alan Wake and its sequel, as well as Control and Max Payne, has been giving fans some details surrounding Alan Wake 2’s development, without giving away too much. Now, however, Lake has said something Else

On twitter, Lake officially revealed that  Ilkka Villi and Matthew Porretta will return to portray Alan Wake (And Potentially also the enigmatic Mr Scratch, first shown at the ending of the first game and later in the now probably decanonized Alan Wake’s American Nightmare). In the first game, Ilkka Villi served as the Motion capture performer, and Matthew Porretta Giving his voice. This is good to know, especially given how commonly characters are recast between entries in video games, especially if the entries are a long way apart.

Obviously, we don’t currently know anything about Alan Wake 2’s plot, aside from what can be guessed at based on the trailer, the previous entries in this universe, and of course the fact the game has been confirmed to be aiming for an M rating.

As of right now we don’t know if any other cast members are set to return in the sequel. The band “Poets of the Falls” are likely to make an appearance due to them being the real life writers of the songs performed by fictional band “Old Gods of Asgard”, who where important to the first games story, along with it being likely that we encounter Barry Wheeler (voiced by Fred Berman in the first game), Alans Agent and one of the few survivors of the first game.

Unfortunately, someone who will decidedly not be returning is Brett Madden, the Actress who portrayed Alice Wake, Alan’s Wife, as she passed away late last year. Whether this real life tragedy will be addressed in the sequel or not is currently unclear.
