Call of Duty: Warzone was released back in early 2020 being one of the most anticipated releases at the time especially within the battle royale community. Its release took the battle royale scene by storm combining its Call of Duty first person shooter mechanics with the interesting battle royale features adding their own unique spin to it, making it a last man standing type of game, something that has never been done before within the Call of Duty franchise. Post-release they continue adding features to attempt to satisfy the Call of Duty: Warzone audience, including map changes, map additions, new operators, new finishers, new emotes and animations, new perks, new weaponry which are from Assault Rifles to Handguns to Melee weapons and many more other features and customisations. But it’s the new Combat Scout Perk that is the word on every Warzone player’s mouth and all for the wrong reasons.

What is the Combat Scout Perk?

With Warzone adding new features and customisations frequently, comes the most anticipated releases which are the new seasons. Call of Duty launched Season 5: Reloaded September 9th on Warzone with a lot of high expectations. Collecting highly positive reviews and opinions but the one negative standing out is the Combat Scout Perk. The Combat Scout Perk is a new perk which allows players to track and highlight enemies for a short period of time by damaging them. It was released alongside the Tempered Perk in the Season 5 update. Formally being stated as “Damaging an enemy briefly highlights them for you and marks them for the entire squad”.

Whilst the Combat Scout Perk has a community of players against it, it also has a community of players that are for it, explaining that if there is a counter towards it, it should stand. That counter being another popular perk named as the Cold-Blooded Perk. “The Cold-Blooded perk makes you significantly harder to detect by enemies. Most AI targeting systems and thermal optics will not be able to find you, allowing for multiple surprise attacks that give you the advantage during enemy encounters”. This means that the Combat Scout Perk is completely ineffective towards users of the Cold-Blooded Perk which makes sense for the people who are for the Combat Scout Perk being in Call of Duty: Warzone.

What is next to come from Call of Duty: Warzone?

Besides the Combat Scout Perk being a controversial topic amongst the Warzone community, we do believe there may be slight adjustments to the perk without changing much that is major which will fit most Warzone players criteria. Now with the highly awaited Season 6: The Final Showdown coming out October 7th which will feature loads of confirmed new content such as new weapons of different ranges, new operators, changes to the map (Verdansk), changes to the gulag and many more. We await to see if the changes to the Com bat Scout Perk that the fans are hoping for will come into play this week. Stay tuned in! Call of Duty: Warzone is about to get even better!
