Sonic the Hedgehog is celebrating 30 years this year and has already had birthday treats like a Minecraft DLC, and confirmation of a new animated show arriving in 2022.
And we now have a brand new visual for the next celebratory event, Sonic Colors Ultimate!
Improvements added to Sonic Colors Ultimate
SEGA has released the new trailer for the Wii remastered game, highlighting all the improvements fans can expect, and it looks visually stunning.
The trailer explains how the game will run in 4K resolution and 60fps on selected consoles and will feature improved lighting, improved graphic details, and new character models and textures. What makes it even more stunning is the trailer compares it to the original Sonic Colors to really show off how much has improved.
The trailer also shows the newly added features for its gameplay. A new Rival Rush mode, where players can race through the game’s stages against Metal Sonic to unlock rewards. Players will also be able to visit the in-game store and use their tokens to customise Sonic with new boots, gloves, and auras! There is also a visual of the new Jade Ghost Power-Up, which lets Sonic pass through solid objects to reach hidden places.
Sonic Colors Ultimate will be released on September 7 on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PS4 and PC. All physical versions will come with a Baby Sonic keychain and there will be a Digital Deluxe version that gives players early access, exclusive music, exclusive icons and a ‘Sonic Movie’ boost.
