Crossplay is finally coming to Overwatch, five years after its initial release. Blizzard will also start beta tasting the feature, to allow players to play on all platforms where the game is available. The title is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X and Nintendo Switch.

Players using these consoles will be able to group up to play with each other. To access the crossplay feature you will need to create a Battle.net account and link it to your Xbox, PSN or Nintendo account.

Any collection content a player earns on one system will not carry over to another platform though. The upcoming crossplay feature will also work for all game modes other than competitive. Blizzard will put console players in one pool and PC in another.  The studio has claimed that they are doing this for balance reasons.

Blizzard will also give anyone who links their accounts together before the end of the year a free golden loot box.
