Pokémon Legends: Arceus is going to be the newest spin-off Pokémon game and a prequel to Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl.
Along with every Pokémon game that features another region there are usually new “never before seen” Pokémon to be found. Here are the new Pokémon and Hisuian form Pokémon that will be exclusive to Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
New Pokémon
Do you remember the big horn Pokémon Stantler? Well, Stantler now has a new evolution called Wyrdeer in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

Name: Wyrdeer
Type: Psychic,Normal
Egg Group: Field
It’s been a long time since Stantler has gotten anything new since it was first introduced in the second generation (Gold, Silver and Crystal) and it now gets an evolution that will help Stantler be more well known. In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Stantler can now evolve into Wyrdeer and gains the psychic type however it is not yet known what evolutionary method it will use to do so. Players can summon and ride Wyrdeer just by playing the Celestica Flute.
Do you remember back in generation 5 when they had the hostile Pokémon called Basculin? Well Basculin has finally got a new evolution called Basculegion (the big fish Pokémon).

Name: Basculegion
Type: Water,Ghost
Egg Group: Water 2
It’s been 3 Generations more since the 5th generation and Basculin can now evolve into Basculegion after “possessing the souls of other Basculins in its school that weren’t able to withstand swimming upstream” (exclusive to Pokémon Legends: Arceus) and gains the ghost type and players will be able to ride on Basculegion on the water. The Basculegion takes parts of the design from both Basculins. Basculegion can be summoned using the Celestica Flute near a body of water.
There is also a brand new Pokémon that is exclusive to Pokémon Legends: Arceus and is a new evolution of Scyther. This Pokémon is called Kleavor (the axe Pokémon)
Scyther – Scizor – Mega Scizor – Kleavor
Name: Kleavor
Type: Bug, Rock
Egg Group: Bug
Scyther (the Mantis Pokémon) who is a bug and flying type was introduced in generation 1 and had a new evolution called Scizor (the Pincer Pokémon) in generation 2 which could only be obtained via trading whilst holding a metal coat. Scizor keeps the bug type but replaces the flying type with the steel type. In Generation 6 Scizor got a mega stone called Scizorite allowing it to mega evolve into Mega Scizor. Scyther in the Hisuian region can evolve into Kleavor keeping the bug type and replacing the flying type with the rock type. Kleavor uses its axe-like hands to attack. Players will be able to battle a frenzied Kleavor and quell it as part of their journey.
New Pokémon Hisuian Regional Variant Forms
Remember the puppy Pokémon called Growlithe? Well Growlithe now has an Hisuian regional variant.
Name: Hisuian Growlithe
Type: Fire, Rock
Egg Group: Field
Growlithe (the puppy Pokémon) is a fire type introduced in generation 1 and is finally getting its own regional variant form. Hisuian Growlithe is a dual fire and rock type Pokémon. Since Growlithe evolves into Arcanine with a Fire stone maybe we will see a Hisuian Arcanine in the future too.
Remember the dual normal and flying type Pokémon called Braviary? Braviary now has a regional variant called Hisuian Braviary.
Name: Hisuian Braviary
Type: Flying,Psychic
Egg Group: Flying
Braviary was introduced in generation 5 and evolved from the flying and normal type Pokémon Rufflet at level 54. Braviary now has a Hisuian regional variant form exclusive to Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Hisuian Braviary ” uses its psychic shockwaves to attack and can even send itself into a trance powering up its senses and abilities”. Hisuian Braviary keeps the flying type but replaces the normal type with the psychic type and can be summoned using the Celestica Flute to fly around on. Since Braviary evolves from Rufflet maybe we will see an Hisuian Rufflet in the future too.
Pokémon Legends: Arceus is currently available to pre-order now from Nintendo. Anyone who pre-orders Pokémon Legends: Arceus from the Official Nintendo store will receive a free Pokémon Legends: Arceus steel book and a legendary Pokémon Arceus figurine. Players will receive a special bonus of a Hisuian Growlithe kimono outfit if purchased before May 9th. Watch the newest released trailer here.
Pokémon Legends: Arceus is coming to the Nintendo Switch Family of consoles on Friday January 28th 2022.
