Release Date for New Call of Duty Warzone Map: Caldera

Activision has revealed the release date for Caldera, the next new map for Call of Duty: Warzone that will replace the current Verdansk level and add dogfighting to the game

Release Date for Call of Duty’s New Map

Caldera will be released on December 2nd, the same day that Season 1 of the Warzone Pacific era begins. Anyone who owns Call of Duty: Vanguard will have 24 hours of early access.

The map will be located in the Pacific, as VGC announced exclusively in June. Raven Software confirmed this in September, stating that it would contain entirely new locales and will share new engine technology with Vanguard, which is powered by an upgraded version of the Modern Warfare engine.

Activision outlined the ideas for Warzone’s new Pacific era and the resultant devastation of the Verdansk map in a blog post describing all their plans for Call of Duty: Vanguard.

New Events in Call of Duty: Warzone

On November 18, a new limited-time mode named Operation: Flashback will be released, enabling players to relive the last 18 months on the Verdasnk battlefield. Players will receive an insignia for participating, and if they win, they will receive an animated calling card.

Then, from the 24^th of November, a new Secrets of the Pacific event will begin. This event has been created by Beenox. It will allow players to learn more about Caldera and its attractions by completing tasks in both Warzone and Vanguard.

According to Activision, “the destruction begins” on November 30 with another Beenox-created event that would deliver “a spectacular and fitting end to your time in Verdansk as we say farewell to the Kastovian city… forever?”

On December 2nd, the Warzone Pacific era and the Caldera map will be officially released (with Vanguard players able to access it from December 1st). When Season 1 is released on December 2nd, users will have access to a Vanguard Royale playlist that will feature all of the new stuff from the update, such as biplanes and anti-air vehicles.

Activision Promises Progression Will Carry Over Across Call of Duty Titles

Activision promises players that following Vanguard’s integration, all Operators from Vanguard, Black Ops Cold War, and Modern Warfare will be able to be employed throughout all of Warzone.

“Your progression – for your Player Level, Battle Pass system, and so on – is synchronised across Vanguard, Black Ops Cold War, Modern Warfare, and Warzone Pacific, and the Seasonal Levelling and Prestige System will return,” it adds.

They then went on to say, “This also means your level will reset to Military Rank 1 within all games, but this only applies to XP – all content you previously unlocked will still be available.”
