A Retro-futuristic action thriller. Now that’s not a game you find on the shelves every day. Well let me introduce you to “Replaced”, the upcoming sci-fi plat former that promises to be just that! Drawing comparisons with “Detroit: Become Human” and “Cyberpunk 2077”, Released will blend the line between robots and humans. Despite this, it looks like the title is going to have a tasty unique taste that will draw players in right away. Announced via a trailer at E3 2021, we seem to already have quite a bit of information to delve into. So let’s just do right that! Check out the trailer right below:
When Is Replaced Set To Release?
Unfortunately, we don’t have an exact date yet for the games release. However, we do know that it will be sometime in 2022, which makes sense considering that would be 6 to 18 months on from its official announcement. But yes, sadly the developer are yet to give us anything more definitive on that matter.
Despite this, we do know that the game is being developed by Sad Cat Studios and will be their first every game. This can be a challenging task which we hope they’re going to be able to live up to. Adversely, the games publisher looks to have much more experience. In business since 2009, they’re a UK-based indie publisher which have worked on titles such as “Jurassic World Aftermath” and “Transformers: Battlegrounds”. As a result, we’re hoping this blend of fresh ideas and established mindsets will give us something spectacular.
What Will The Game-Play Be Like?
According to their website, players will take on R.E.A.C.H- “an artificial intelligence trapped in a human body against its own will”. This will all be set in the 1980’s Phoenix City, but obviously with a twist. Re-imagining the decade is certainly going to be interesting and we’re excited to see how they’re going to approach it.
Furthermore, this “deep engaging dystopian story” will apparently weave together “cinematic plat-former, pixel art and free-flow action combat”. Now that really is music to any sci-fi fans ears. Apparently, we’ll also be taking on villains who “see humans and their organs as nothing more than just currency”. Let’s hope they can live up to get sci-fi villains we’ve seen in the past.
Overall, it sounds like it’s going to give us a real different experience to anything we’ve seen before. This is exactly what we need in a gaming world which has arguably become quite stale in recent years.
