The Splatoon 2 Inkfest Tournament kicked off this weekend, but not to fret, there’s still plenty more to come!
Nintendo announced there would be new Splatoon 2 tournaments taking place in the U.S. and the U.K. during the final quarter of the year, with the Splatoon 2 Inkfest U.K. and Ireland Tournament 2021 already being underway here.
The Splatoon 2 Inkfest U.K. and Ireland Tournament 2021, presented by Nintendo and Gfinity, started on September 25 and will continue for 12 weeks until December 11, with plenty of prizes to be won!

The tournament takes place online using your Nintendo Switch and players can still sign up via the Inkfest U.K. Tournament Hub– the main site to get the latest information for the tournament. Gfinity is acting as the tournament’s operation partner and will be aided by the Hub to bring players the best to offer regarding updates, as well as interviews with the players.
To keep all Inklings and Octolings on their toes, the tournament has been designed to feature a cup-style format that will be hosted every few weeks. Each cup consists of Open Ladder Tournaments taking place on each weekend of the first two weeks, where teams can play as many times as they want to boost their rankings for the chance to qualify for the Cup Final.
Here are the rules and regulations regarding players, teams and qualifications:
Format:
• Open Ladder to Double Elimination Bracket
• Every 3 weeks is a Cup – Pink, Green, Yellow & Purple
Match:
• Open Ladder – Best of 3 Games
• Cup Finals – Best of 5 Games
Mode: Pre-determined ranked mode cycle. The first match will be Splat Zone.
Stages: Pre-determined.
Modes:
• Modes and Maps to be announced before each tournament and will be listed on the tournament hub.
• Modes each week on the Open Ladder will be a random selection of 4 sets of pre-determined modes/stages.
• Modes in the Double Elimination Bracket will be predetermined modes/stages and will be provided by the tournament admins.
