Hyper Japan is holding a Splatoon 2 Tournament this July from the 24th – 25th.
It’s sad that we can’t experience Hyper Japan in person, but we can participate, Hyper Japan are doing whatever they can to bring the best experience to their audience online. If you don’t know Hyper Japan is the largest UK event to celebrate everything Japanese; games, culture, food, fashion, toys, sport, music and art. There’s usually a lot to do and one of those events to visit in person, but I say that it is more than exciting online as well, as they remain consistent with the tournaments they hold every year.
In celebration of Splatoon 2’s anniversary, NGI and Hyper Japan have decided to come together and bring the next large event to the Splatoon 2 community in the UK, a Splatoon 2 tournament. It will run from midday on the 24th of July, then midday again on the 25th and will follow the same rules as the Splatoon Championship. Over the length of two days, teams will have a cap of 32 people. The top two players from each group will then go into the second day in a top 8 double-elimination bracket. This day will also include interviews from the players and interaction with the rest of the Splatoon 2 community.
Anyone who wants to participate will have until the 21st of July to sign up. Keep in mind this tournament is only available for UK & Republic of Ireland Teams Only. The maps and game modes are still to be confirmed.
