FAR: Changing Tides, the sequel to FAR: Lone Sails (not to be confused with the ‘far’ series I guess), has recently had it’s release date announced in this recent trailer. And here’s the announcement trailer to Changing Tides from 2018 if you want to have a butcher’s… or rather, a fishmonger’s? Actually, no- Why do cockney folks say “butcher’s hook” when the saying “hook line and sinker” is LITERALLY right there!? This is fisherman-erasure on a global scale- Nay, butchers ARE hook-trenders… For all 5 of the people in my life who know who Contrapoints is, hope you enjoyed that mildly unhinged reference.

A Brief History on FAR: FAR: Lone Sails released in 2018, a survival RPG seeing players explore an oceanic post-apocalypse in a side-scrolling adventure. Okomotive and Mixtvision developed and published the title respectively. Fast forward a little, now Lone Sails is available on PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One and mobile. Changing Tides is now being published by Frontier Foundry. The USP with the Changing Tides is that not only will you be sailing through the world above, but your vehicle will also be decked out with a submarine mode!

The release date was confirmed by Don Schmocker (co-founder and lead-artist of Okomotive and Professional Bad-Ass-Name-Haver) to be coming on March 1st of this year on PS4 and PS5.

Mr Schmocker also spoke of the positive feedback received on Lone Sails and how the “meditative reflective nature” seemed to resonate strongly. The plan is to keep the best elements of the Sails while aiming to make Changing Tides more deliberately “thought-provoking”.

Schmocker also claimed Okomotive wanted to expand on content with new features like stormy weather, underwater cities and environmental puzzles suiting the ship’s new mechanics. Emphasis was especially put on distinguishing between sails, oars and the ship’s engine as movement methods. Maybe quieter sections of gameplay will be punctuated with underwater Mad-Maxian fuel scrapes where you’ll have to outwit bandits with less rickety ships than you.

Last, but not least, Schmocker also stated that due to the story being more implicit at times and requiring interpretation, players can also discover key plot context and lore by discovering sunken treasures, locations and ruins of the flood. As something of a Hollow Knight fan myself, not gonna lie, I’m extremely horny for environmental storytelling done right, so I’ll be cautiously optimistic with this one!

The Outbound Ghost, Updates, New Characters, Consoles & PC

Conradical Games will be releasing a Paper Mario & Undertale inspired Game, with their already released Demo on Steam after getting 285% funded. The popularity increases by the second and Conradical Games continues to update backers and followers on Twitter, Youtube, Steam, Discord and through the Kickstarter Campaign. Impressive, but well deserved. Conradical Games has not once left their backers in the dark, we are always being notified of the amazing additions they’re making to the game.

Here’s a list of some of what we’ve gotten so far. But first…

What is The Outbound Ghost?

For those of you who haven’t heard of The Outbound Ghost, it’s an RPG adventure game, developed by Conradical Games and inspired by Paper Mario & Undertale. The game follows the story of our protagonist who dies in a car crash and ends up in the outskirts of a town called ‘Outbound’. Looking to gain back their memories and cause of death, they meet some other ghosts along the way. You must help these characters come to terms with the afterlife so they pass on in peace.

“In the world of The Outbound Ghost, ghosts are the embodiment of regret. Most people go to the afterlife after dying, yet those who were unhappy with their previous lives become ghosts and are forced to haunt the Earth until they right their wrongs. Of course, this is not always possible since doing this as a ghost is orders of magnitude harder than when you are a human.” – Conradical Games-

The Outbound Ghost Soundtrack

This beautiful soundtrack has been created by Kimmsoft who is also working on Aria Disconnect. We can all agree that soundtracks help to give body to a certain scene, dialogue or gameplay and build the atmosphere. The music is truly enchanting and gives off the vibes of love, loss, pain, regret, community and hope.

(But hey, that’s just my opinion, perhaps I’m also secretly hoping these soundtracks will be available to purchase).

Introduction To A New Character & Mechanic

Conradical Games demonstrates their new mechanics while introducing us to a mysterious-masked character. Wonder what this little guy’s story is…He has the appearance of a thief, perhaps one in their past life? Conradical games don’t delve into too much detail about this character, however, they do explain their new mechanic.

The protagonist can hide in bushes and shade to hide from the mysterious sneaky ghost and hopefully avoid them getting past, towards the other side of the boulder.

Conradical Games then continues to ask what we think will happen if they catch us. Personally, I somewhat hope for a battle similar to what we’ve seen with shirley or perhaps a completely new mini-game, a surprise we haven’t encountered before.

A look at Camera Angles & Perspective

3rd person Perspective Vs ‘Top-down’ View

Conradical Games has gone on to show us their progress in the game development and has asked us all which we prefer for this area, top-down or 3rd person perspective. We’ve added the two down below for you to have a look yourself, it would be helpful to leave your comments down below!

I feel as though both views are fantastic, it would be a good idea to have a change of view, depending on the section of that area the player enters. Take NieR Replicant or NieR Automata for example. There had been a change of perspective from third person perspective to a 2D platform-style. Changes like that truly add to the essence of a specific area and sometimes make it more memorable.

The post EPIC Adventure RPG, Paper Mario & Undertale inspired ‘The OutBound Ghost’ Releasing In 2022 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox & Nintendo Switch first appeared on Get2Gaming.

As an avid fanatic of the Norse Mythology, you can imagine my excitement when it came to the release of the 2018 reboot of the God of War series. This game had me hyped, and it did not fail to deliver in terms of satisfying action-packed gameplay which saw you encountering a variety of monsters and gods inspired loosely by those of the Norse world.

It also featured a gripping and emotional story that followed Kratos and his son, Atreus on their journey throughout the 9 Realms to fulfil the wishes of Kratos’ second wife, who is also Atreus’ mother. Along the way you come to discover Atreus’ true origin which also alludes to several of the story aspects that we can expect to see within the follow-up title; God of War: Ragnarök.

The sequel’s title, as well as the ending of God of War implies that the game will take place during the events of Ragnarök or at least the events that will lead up to the Nordic apocalypse. Throughout the game we are given hints and teasers that imply some of the events which may take place

. As the game was released a while ago, it’s understandable if you’ve forgotten about or missed some of these key details. In today’s article, I’m going to be giving a refresher on some of these so you can have an idea of what we could possibly expect to see in God of War: Ragnarök.

Freya’s Power is Restored

The first trailer for God of War: Ragnarök made no attempt to hide that Freya and Kratos were involved in some form of conflict against each other. This is understandable, as Freya has every reason to despise Kratos for the death of her son, Baldur, in the first game in the series reboot. However, due to a curse laid upon her by Odin, it is not possible for her to harm any living beings using weapons or magic which has essentially rendered her powerless.

In the trailer though we see her swing for Kratos with a blade. What would the point in her attacking him be, had she not somehow managed to find a way to free herself from these restrictions?  This means that we may get to see how she breaks the curse in Ragnarök, and what consequences that may have for Kratos and Atreus.

The World Serpent’s Creation

Kratos and Atreus first encounter the World Serpent, Jörmungandr, in the Lake of the Nine. We learn from Mimir that the serpent is sent back in time to a period before his birth after a battle with Thor, the Thunder God, when he is struck so hard that the world tree splinters.  From this, we can assume that it is likely that the events of God of War take place during a time before the serpent’s birth.

This is made clear by the fact that Atreus is still a child during his adventure with Kratos. Atreus is also revealed to be Loki, who within the Norse mythology is the World Serpent’s father, so that clearly adds up to meaning its not possible for the serpent’s birth to occur yet.

If the games version of events holds true to its source material, then it is possible that we could come to learn more about the origin of the World Serpent. Mimir also states that the snake feels a sense of familiarity towards Atreus, which further shows the two have some kind of connection.

The Giants Return

During God of War, Kratos and Atreus do not encounter many giants. Those that they do come across tend to be dead, excluding the World Serpent. We do come to discover though that they have not been entirely wiped out, and some fire giants still exist within the realms of Musphelheim. They are foretold to return when Ragnarök occurs. If this is the case, the assumption can be easily made that they may make a return in God of War: Ragnarök.

Contrary to popular belief however, despite what the name implies, the race of giants did not always take on the form of hulking colossal beasts within Norse mythology. The term was instead used to show their shared ancestry with the Aesir gods. If Santa Monica Studios decide to stick to this idea, then we could possibly see giants of all shapes and sizes with immense power and knowledge.

Thor Makes An Appearance

It wouldn’t be right to have any kind of story inspired by Norse Mythology, and not introduce the God of Thunder himself, Thor. In the games first reveal trailer, we see Kratos encounter, who we can assume is Thor due to the mighty hammer at his waist. Santa Monica Studios has a history of starting the series games off with epic boss battles, and Thor would definitely make for a good introduction.

Due to his strength and power, it could also be possible that this battle is intended to be lost and allows Kratos passageway to Valhalla. Not only would this make for a good way to balance Kratos’ power and cause him to lose some of the strength he has gained throughout his journey so far, it would also allow players to experience the Norse afterlife. Kratos is no stranger to escaping death and freeing himself from the afterlife, so this could make for an interesting introduction to the game.

So, here are some of my predictions based on what we’ve seen so far throughout trailers and some teasers in the game itself. What are you guys thoughts? Which Nordic gods would you like to see make an appearance?

Conor McGregor, who is a world famous UFC superstar has been the latest athlete to appear in the new Call of Duty Game.

It was announced in a tweet he released with a photograph of himself in the Call of Duty uniform looking like he is ready for battle. He also wrote on the tweet “When the biggest need the baddest to do work, I answer the call.”

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare launches on November 4^th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Being a Call of Duty fan all my life I never really gave Battlefield any of my personal attention even after reading some amazing reviews about the game.

My experience with Battlefield 1 was one of the best gaming experiences I have ever felt in my gaming life. The feel to the game was incredible and I hate to say it, but this could be the end of Call of Duty for me personally.

The first thing I noticed about Battlefield was the opening screen and I was amazed by how much effort the producers had obviously put in to this. Even the little details such as the thumbnails of different game modes you can play are just so detailed. It is also very easy to use so all first time battlefield players are not going to find it difficult to use!

I don’t normally look for small details when it comes to loading screens when playing games. However, Battlefield 1 puts you in a position where you will notice it without any effort of trying to find these little details. The matchmaking screen where you see the world, makes the player really feel like you are about to go in to a full blown battle against people from around the entire world and not just your country.

When you actually get to enter the battlefield you get a choice of classes to choose from to match your playing style and these are:

• Assault
• Medic
• Support
• Scout

When playing the Beta I tried every single class and my favourite was definitely a Scout. A sniper rifle has never felt so real virtually. The aiming was on point and every shot if on target will take their health down.

The gameplay as a whole was incredible and I really enjoyed my time playing Battlefield 1 and if you have not had the chance to give it a go, I highly recommend this game.

Call of Duty fans around the globe have been waiting very patiently for Infinity Ward to announce that Modern Warfare is going to be remastered. Well 2016 was the year that the producers of Call of Duty actually listened to the fans made this dream happen.

The new graphics compared to the old graphics can be seen below. It’s good to say that the dream has finally come true.

Rumours have been released that Antoine Fuque could be directing the upcoming Scarface Remake.

Deadline have released that Fuque is currently in talks with Universal. This is going to be the third time that the story behind the notorious gangster Tony Montana is going to be told. The original was released in 1932, followed by the amazing remake with Al Pacino in 1983.

The remake is going to be different as it will be set in Contemporary Los Angeles. Jonathan Herman from Straight Outta Compton wrote the most recent draft. The film is going to be produced by Marc Schmuger, Scott Stubar and Dylan Clark.

Worlds Adrift

The new open-world adventure game from Bossa Studios

Worlds Adrift is the brand new open-world and atmospheric adventure game from Surgeon Simulator developer, Bossa Studios. They gave the news earlier this month when their debut title, Surgeon Simulator, reached 2m in sales. The team announced their new game on it’s website last week and are also in the midst of developing it’s Steam Early Access release and upcoming mobile effort, I Am Bread! I think we’re all looking forward to that one as well!

Producer, Herb Liu, has spoken on the matter – “One thing that’s always been really important to the vision of the game is the atmosphere. Lots of things contribute to how you feel when you’re in a game, but perhaps none more than the art style.”

“Besides stylizing everything with low poly counts and flat colours, we’re trying to make sure the soft dynamic lighting gives Worlds an illustrated feel. You’ll see in the video the day/night cycle gives the environment a different feel during the day and compared with the night. The game will also definitely play differently depending on the time of day.”

There has been no word as of yet on a release date, but Worlds Adrift is in developments for Windows PC. You can watch the game-play which Lui has referenced HERE, on our ‘Exciting Game Trailers’ playlist on YouTube.

One of my favourites
I, The Morgul Lord of Media, am going to share one of my all time favourite games with you. Aren’t you lucky?!…

Now I’m sure that many of you have heard of this one, but what a joy it is to play! It is none other than American McGee’s ‘Alice: Madness Returns’.

Released in the summer of 2011 and the sequel to McGee’s ‘Alice’, which was released in 2000, ‘Alice: Madness Returns’ is a psychological horror action-adventure video game which follows Alice Liddell; a girl suffering severe trauma caused by the death of her parents. Discharged from a psychiatric clinic and now living in an orphanage for mentally traumatised orphans, Alice is under the care of Dr. Bumby. She finds herself falling in and out of Wonderland which is now reined over by a new evil. In order to save Wonderland, she has to save herself.

This game is just all round awesome and while I could say “well, call me old fashioned but I’d much prefer a bunch of flowers”, I don’t! I want the Vorpal Blade! This is one of many weapons that Alice collects during the game, alongside the Pepper Grinder, Hobby Horse and Tea Pot. All of which can be upgraded X4. As well as this, Alice will be dressed in one heck of an outfit upon entering a new domain in Wonderland.

Let’s see what else we have to entice you to play if you haven’t already… Ah-ha! Well, you can stomp on or squash the Queen of Heart’s hearts, save the souls of dead sailors in the gruesome depths, stomp on the Queen’s Executioner (I took great pleasure in doing this), jump through paintings in the Caterpillar’s level, where the graphics are somewhat scroll like, and (this is brilliant) defeat the final boss whilst standing on a train…that is completely ablaze…and looks like a gothic cathedral on wheels…

So, there you have it.. If this doesn’t entice you to play then I don’t know what will?! Fantasy, horror, adventure, seriously creepy looking friends as well as enemies, utter chaos and madness! As you can see from the photo above, this game is not for the faint of heart!
