Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has received the Mastery Challenge Pack 2. Released on Tuesday 19th April, the update is free for players on all platforms. Watch the trailer below.

Ubisoft’s Update 1.5.1 features nearly 200 bug fixes or improvements to both Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and the Dawn of Ragnarok edition. These focus mainly on combat, quests, the UI or HUD, and general gameplay. You can read the list here.

Mastery Challenges 2: Electric Boogaloo

However, the main focus is the update to the Mastery Challenge. Mastery Challenge was originally released last year and included a new storyline and a trial system offering challenges and rewards. The new update brings a new story to the pack, along with 3 more shrines to access the trials and rewards in the game. The trials culminate in a boss fight that combines elements from each of the trials. The rewards include the “Valkyrie Armor set, all-new weapons, a tattoo set, and new settlement cosmetics.”

Ostara Returns

Mastery Challenge Pack 2 also brings back the Ostara festival to Ravensthorpe. The Ostara festival runs for a limited time, from April 21st to May 12th. Last year, the Ostara festival included a variety of combat and non-combat activities and it looks as though this year’s will follow the same theme. Activities include an egg-hunt, archery contests, drinking contests and brawling. Players can take part in these festivities both day and night and earn tokens to win the same prizes as last year. These prizes are mainly settlement decorations or cosmetics. You can read more about the festival here.

In the real world, Ostara is a pagan festival to mark the Spring equinox that usually takes place in March. However, perhaps Ubisoft are focusing on the Easter season instead this year.

Updates Continuing Through Spring Season

In addition to this update, Ubisoft also supplied a roadmap for the Spring season. Update 1.5.2 is expected in May and a new Armoury feature is also set to join. The Armory is a new building which can be built in Ravensthorpe that allows you to customize and display your favorite gear sets. The building accommodates up to five loadouts of weapons, armour, and skills. Once they are saved, players can access these loadouts from anywhere in the game.

Both the Mastery Challenges and the Ostara festival are free for players, but there is a prerequisite for each. In order to play the Mastery Challenges, Ubisoft states: “Players must be at least Power Level 221, have completed the Uninvited Guests main quest after reporting on Grantebridgescire and Ledecestrescire, and have completed the narrative quest from Mastery Challenge Pack 1.” Similarly, to take part in the Ostara festival, “players must reach England and complete one of the first two narrative arcs (Grantebridgescire or Ledecestrescire) and have a settlement at Level 2.”

Finally, Ubisoft also announced that Assassin’s Creed Origins is coming to Xbox Game Pass.

The post Assassin’s Creed Valhalla gets Major Update first appeared on Get2Gaming.

With a storyline that spans centuries, Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed franchise frequently sees some of its protagonists cross paths with one another. For example, protagonist Shay Cormac met Adéwalé from Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and Haytham Kenway from Assassin’s Creed III in Assassin’s Creed Rogue. However, those characters were all active during similar periods.  Ubisoft is now taking a different approach though.

Assassin’s Creed Timelines Crossover

The publisher is adding new missions to Odyssey and Valhalla as part of the franchise’s first crossover event, which will pit characters Kassandra and Eivor against one other. What does an ancient Greek have to do with England in the ninth century? We don’t know, but the Animus is probably involved, and the event could be a preview of what to anticipate from the franchise’s rumoured online arrival.

“Those Who Are Treasured,” the first tale, will be set in Odyssey, while “A Fated Encounter,” the second, will be set in Valhalla. Both will be accessible on December 14th, when the 1.4.1 and 1.5.6 title updates for their respective titles go live. You can upgrade your character’s equipment by finishing the stories.

Ubisoft also revealed Dawn of Ragnarök, the newest DLC for Valhalla, on Monday. The expansion is being promoted as the publisher’s most ambitious Assassin’s Creed dlc yet. It will add about 35 hours of playtime to the game, allowing players to learn more about Eivor’s connection to Odin. The DLC will be released on March 10th, 2022, according to Ubisoft.

The post Assassin’s Creed Crossover Unites Eivor and Kassandra first appeared on Get2Gaming.

A recent listing through a Chinese retailer has leaked that the next expansion in the Assassin’s Creed franchise is set to be the biggest yet. Dawn of Ragnarök will supposedly release on March 10^th 2022, and will take place within the 9 Realms of Norse Cosmology according to the translations.

The translation states:

“The world of mythology, shouldering the urgent task of saving children, unleashing the brand-new supernatural power of the thunderbolt. After this shocking Viking legend, save your own flesh and blood before the gods are swallowed by the catastrophe.”

This statement was made alongside some promotional images that were posted on Reddit.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarök

Dawn of Ragnarök, according to a previous leak, will provide Eivor a whole variety of new powers and weaponry. Brief invisibility, the capacity to fly like a bird, teleportation arrows, a chainmail-piercing spear, freezing powers, and the ability to resuscitate foes are among the abilities available.

The expansion is most likely what publisher Ubisoft has been hinting at in advance of a live webcast on Monday, December 13.t on Monday, December 13.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is getting a second year of expansions, which is a first for the franchise, and Ubisoft has already stated that the material will surprise gamers.

Ubisoft has previously stated that a new Assassin’s Creed Valhalla title update will be released next week.Title update 1.4.1 adds additional combat, stealth, and exploration difficulty options, allowing players to fine-tune their game experience even more. It will also feature a number of changes to help with detection and social stealth.

The next update will require you to re-download the entire game, annoyingly. This will apparently reduce the games overall file size however, which is a bonus.

Dawn of Ragnarök, AC Valhalla’s next expansion will supposedly launch on March 10^th 2022.

Ubisoft confirms that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is set to receive a new free DLC update.

As part of the game’s roadmap for 2021, the publisher announced four pieces of content coming to the game through updates before the year-end.

The first is the 1.4.0 update, which releases the same day as the Tombs of the Fallen DLC on November 9.

The Oskoreia Festival will be a ‘Free Time-Limited Event’ that will run between November 11 and December 2. The final piece of content is the 1.4.1 Game Update, which will release in December.

Tombs of the Fallen was first unintentionally leaked by PlayStation trophies, discovered by AccessTheAnimus on Twitter. Players must complete one Tomb of the Fallen to earn the ‘Spelunker’ trophy and complete three to achieve the ‘Crypt-ologist’ one.

Ubisoft recently shared that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has become the “second largest profit generating game” in the company’s history and is set to receive another year of expansions, which is a first for the series. It’s also been verified that a new project codenamed Assassin’s Creed Infinity is in the works – first revealed on Bloomberg.

Ubisoft declared the game’s Siege of Paris expansion, which launched in August, “delivered record engagement”, and that it plans to produce “great new content for year two of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, notably in the second half of the current fiscal year” ending on March 31, 2022.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s next significant expansion may be titled ‘Dawn of Ragnarök’, according to a recent datamine by j0nathon. If accurate, the expansion will be set in the dwarven realm of Svartalfheim and introduce a range of new abilities and weapons for our hero Eivor.

AC: Valhalla has been a huge success for Ubisoft. Launched last November, it has already been reported as being the second most profitable game in the French companies history. Likewise, it was greeted with stellar reviews upon initial release. It seems that the studio have no intention of ending the games success there.

New AC: Valhalla trophies have reportedly revealed new details about a brand-new content for the game. Spotted by Twitter user Access The Animus, the trophies seem to tie into a new piece of content called ‘Tombs of the Fallen’.

Supposedly, players must complete one Tomb of the Fallen to earn the ‘Spelunker’ trophy and complete three to earn the ‘Crypt-ologist’ one. Take a look at the tweet below:

What Next For AC: Valhalla And Ubisoft?

As a result of the games success, Ubisoft will be pumping out loads of new content for us. In addition to this leak, it seems that there is a Dawn of Ragnarok DLC on the way too.

This appears to be apart of the second year expansions they look set to release. This’ll add exciting new content to a game which is already jam-packed with such great content. Previously, Ubisoft announced that the Siege of Paris expanision ‘delivered record engagement’. They went on to explain that “great new content for year two of AC: Valhalla will be delivered in the second half of the current fiscal year”. An exciting time for fans of the series indeed.

Not only this, but Ubisoft also confirmed that a new project called Assassin’s Creed Infinity is in the works. Unfortunately, there haven’t been too many details revealed as of yet. This is what the Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot had to say:

“It’s going to be a very innovative game but it will have what players already have in all the Assassin’s Creed games, all the elements that they love to get in them right from the start.

“It’s going to be a huge game but with lots of elements that already exist in the games that we published in the past,”

Despite this, we have heard it will have a similar structure to the Hitman games. This will mean players will have to take on missions whilst reliving classic Assassin Creed tales. Crazy, right? We look forward to hearing from the studio in due course upon this exciting project. Hopefully we get to take control of legendary AC protaganists throughout the franchises history. A return of Ezio Auditore De Firenze? Yes please.

AC: Valhalla has been a brilliant money maker for Ubisoft. In Ubisoft history, AC Valhalla is the publisher’s second largest profit-generating game of all time. That’s an incredible feat for the game apart of the developers  impressive portfolio.

Wondering what the biggest game is? We’re not too sure either. Unfortunately, Ubisoft didn’t reveal who the winner was in its First-Half 2021-22 Fiscal Earnings Report released today. This is what they had to say:

“Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has been outperforming Assassin’s Creed Odyssey across the board since its release. This quarter, the Siege of Paris expansion, whose creation was led by the amazing team at Ubisoft Singapore, delivered record engagement. In less than 12 months, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is already the second-largest profit-generation game in Ubisoft’s history, reflecting the remarkable strength and value of the franchise.”

Ubisoft have also said that “great new content” is on the way for Valhalla’s second year on the market which will most likely appear in the “second half of the current fiscal year.” Recent leaks have suggested this may be a Dawn of Ragnarok DLC, but it remains to be seen.

Far Cry 6 Doing Well Alongside AC: Valhalla

Similarly, Ubisoft also revealed that Far Cry 6 is performing above expected. They revealed that playtime per player is up 25% in Far Cry 6 compared to Far Cry 5. Have a fun look at what happens if it does you do stop playing though.

“Early sales are in line with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey’s solid performance, a game released in a similar timeframe” the report reads. “With an exciting post-launch plan over the coming months, Far Cry 6 is set to be a strong performer this holiday.”

“Eighty percent of Ubisoft’s investments are focused on significantly expanding its premium offering for the coming years, and notably next fiscal year with the releases of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Mario + Rabbits: Sparks of Hope, Skull & Bones, and more exciting games,” the report reads.

We hope the “and more exciting games” bit is hinting at Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time which was set for a January release. Sadly, it was delayed indefinitely, much to the disappointment of old fans of the series.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla was undoubtedly one of the biggest hits of 2020. Set in 872 AD, the open-world action-adventure allowed players to take control of fictional Viking expansions into the British Isles. Boasting an impressive 80 metascore, the game was met with critical and commercial success which has led Ubisoft to release a variety of DLC’s.

Fans have been treated with the Wrath of the Druids as well as the The Siege of Paris expansion thus far. In addition to this, they look set to release another major DLC soon. According to well-known Assassin’s Creed leaker j0nathan, the expansion will be titled Dawn of Ragnarok. We know, we’re obviously excited too.

It seems that the expansion will be set in Svartalfheim, with Valhalla protagonist Eivor supposedly obtaining new powers. From teleportation to invisibility, these powers will without a doubt add interesting new gameplay elements. Not exactly historically accurate, but that’s what we have New Discovery Tour for I suppose.

It should be noted that the information has not been officially announced yet, however j0nathan has a proven reliable track record with leaks so far.  Let’s hope they’re able to continue their hot streak. Whilst not entirely the same, leaks have tended to be true recently, like the recent GTA ones. 

The Future of Valhalla And The Franchise Looks Exciting

Firstly, it is uncertain the date in which Dawn of Ragnarok is going to be released. Fans will absolutely hope for it to be released by Christmas but it is more likely it will be dispatched in 2022. Whereas Wraith of Druids and Siege of Paris were 2021 releases, it’d certainly be surprising if the same was to happen for Dawn of Ragnarok. Nevertheless, we can’t entirely be certain upon that, so you never know what can happen!

Secondly, what a time to be an Assassin’s Creed fan! Not only are we potentially receiving this exciting DLC, but another leak suggests that’s just the start for the franchise. Recently, a Redditor revealed information about an interesting Assassin’s Creed Infinity project. Apparently, it will have a similar structure to the Hitman games. This will mean players will have to take on missions whilst reliving classic Assassin Creed tales. Crazy, right?

Could this see the return of Italian charmer Ezio Auditore? Perhaps the Swashbuckling pirate Kenway even? That’s certainly what fans will be hoping for! Revisiting iconic Assassin’s Creed locations would also be quite the nostalgia experience too! Until then, players will be looking forward to this Valhalla DLC. It is most likely there won’t be any news on the next Assassins Creed title before that is released. If that’s the case, it will be a patient, excitable wait.

The post Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: New Discovery Tour is Now Available for Free first appeared on Get2Gaming.

The 1.3.2 update for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla contains various bug fixes, as well as new graphics options for Stadia users.

The new update launched at 1pm today. This update has fixed various issues that were obstructing gameplay and visuals, as well as offering more graphics mode options.

This update has laid the groundwork for the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s Viking Age Discovery Tour DLC, to be released on October 19.

This is a free educational DLC that will allow players to interact with the environments Valhalla has to offer, discovering the history and Viking culture as they explore. The DLC will be completely free for those who already own the game, and a standalone version will be available for £16.99 for PC. It’s fantastic that Ubisoft is making its wealth of research widely available for students, scholars, and gamers alike.

A fan of the series has compiled a useful timeline depicting the different eras that the Assassin’s Creed series covers

Ubisoft’s first entry in the Assassin’s Creed series was released in 2007, and was set during the Third Crusade. Since then with twelve entries in the game; different moments in history and locations have been covered. With its non-linear settings, it can be difficult to keep track of where and when things were.

Reddit user Chapere has created a timeline which looks at the 12 main games in the Assassin’s Creed franchise. In the order of when they take place, the games are Odyssey, Origins, Valhalla, the first Assassin’s Creed, the three games of the Ezio Trilogy, Black Flag, Rogue, Assassin’s Creed 3, Unity, and Syndicate. What is important to make note of is that Assassin’s Creed: Liberation, the Chronicles trilogy, and all DLC are not depicted on this timeline.

The earliest recorded date in the series is just before 400 BC with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, set in Ancient Greece. The latest date in the series is set in the 17th century with Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, set in Victorian London.

A pattern to make note of is that Assassin’s Creed titles get more tightly packed the closer they get to the present day. Five out of twelve games in the series, take place after 1700. Meanwhile, the three most recently released games are the most spread out and earliest in the timeline. For example, the empty space of time portrayed in between Origins and Valhalla is the largest on the timeline, and is larger than the gap between Valhalla and the original Assassin’s Creed.

The games chronologically tell different parts of what is the same story until after the release of Assassin’s Creed Rogue, with the exceptions of Black Flag and Rogue. However, in regards to the overarching narrative after Assassin’s Creed Rogue, that chronological approach has been abandoned.

This could lead to Ubisoft utilizing their creative liberties with regards to historic settings, with a greater amount of games in earlier periods existing within future entries. Comments on the Reddit post above suggest exploring locations and settings such as during the Chinese Dynasty, Ancient Rome, or Spain during the Moorish Invasion. It would be interesting to see Ubisoft’s takes on different cultures the further back they go into history.
