A recent listing through a Chinese retailer has leaked that the next expansion in the Assassin’s Creed franchise is set to be the biggest yet. Dawn of Ragnarök will supposedly release on March 10^th 2022, and will take place within the 9 Realms of Norse Cosmology according to the translations.

The translation states:

“The world of mythology, shouldering the urgent task of saving children, unleashing the brand-new supernatural power of the thunderbolt. After this shocking Viking legend, save your own flesh and blood before the gods are swallowed by the catastrophe.”

This statement was made alongside some promotional images that were posted on Reddit.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarök

Dawn of Ragnarök, according to a previous leak, will provide Eivor a whole variety of new powers and weaponry. Brief invisibility, the capacity to fly like a bird, teleportation arrows, a chainmail-piercing spear, freezing powers, and the ability to resuscitate foes are among the abilities available.

The expansion is most likely what publisher Ubisoft has been hinting at in advance of a live webcast on Monday, December 13.t on Monday, December 13.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is getting a second year of expansions, which is a first for the franchise, and Ubisoft has already stated that the material will surprise gamers.

Ubisoft has previously stated that a new Assassin’s Creed Valhalla title update will be released next week.Title update 1.4.1 adds additional combat, stealth, and exploration difficulty options, allowing players to fine-tune their game experience even more. It will also feature a number of changes to help with detection and social stealth.

The next update will require you to re-download the entire game, annoyingly. This will apparently reduce the games overall file size however, which is a bonus.

Dawn of Ragnarök, AC Valhalla’s next expansion will supposedly launch on March 10^th 2022.

Final Fantasy 14 has a new update inbound. With its arrival many of the skills currently available will be cycled out and replaced. All of the playable jobs will have brand new spells and abilities to switch things up. In tribute to those skills being retired,  Redditor Thefleetingdream has made a video showcasing all the skills leaving the game in 6.0.

A Tribute to Final Fantasy’s Skill Changes

Endwalker will bring many changes to the current jobs in Final Fantasy 14 and how they play. Some will be changed more than others. Only half of the jobs will be losing some of their old abilities, whereas every job is getting new ones.

The video posted by Thefleetingdream goes through all of the skills, abilities, and spells being retired and showcases their animations. They made this video as a living chronicle of the abilities. After Endwalker’s launch this week, none of these abilities or animations will be available in game.

A Brief Idea of What’s Different

Only one or two talents are being deleted from classes like the White Mage and Samurai, usually because the abilities are no longer relevant or make use of mechanics that aren’t in the game anymore.

This includes the Samurai’s Open Eyes benefit when hit while Third Eye is active. Others, like the Black Mage, Astrologian, Monk, and Dragoon, have passive stance-like abilities built into their classes. In Final Fantasy 14, however, the Summoner is being entirely revamped, with more than a dozen of their skills being removed.

This isn’t the first time job actions have been deleted from Final Fantasy 14; every expansion has seen adjustments to the fighting system, which usually include some abilities being removed.

Many of these talents, especially combat stances like the FF14 Black Mage’s Enochian and Dragoon’s Blood of the Dragon, are not missed by players because it means one less thing to remember during intense boss encounters.

Sad to See You Go

Final Fantasy 14 does an excellent job of balancing jobs, thus these modifications are welcome in order to keep the classes interesting, fresh, and competitive.

However, some players are disappointed that some of these job abilities are leaving the game as well as the animations being phased out. particularly the animations, are being phased out. The previous removal of abilities in Final Fantasy 14 resulted in the removal of numerous amazing and iconic animations, such as the FF14 Dark Knight’s Power Slash, the Dragoon’s Ring of Thorns, and the Bard’s Wide Volley.

While it’s unfortunate that the blue Blood of the Dragon aura and the Ninja’s Shadow Fang animations have been added to the ever-growing graveyard, it’s possible that Final Fantasy 14 will bring them back in the future.

Hearthstone is known for providing a new lens through which World of Warcraft fans can connect with the characters and locations that the game has explored throughout time. Hearthstone’s next card expansion pack, Fractured in Alterac Valley, is going to be set in the iconic Battleground from World of Warcraft’s original launch.

The seasonal system in Hearthstone is based on an annual release cycle. It’s based on its own set of fantasy horoscope animals. With Fractured in Alterac Valley, the Year of the Gryphon cycle enters its  final expansion phase. This means it’s the last major release of cards before a new cycle begins.

There will be 135 new cards to gather in Fractured in Alterac Valley, as well as various new features. The Mercenaries, who first appeared in the Year of the Gryphon’s Forged in the Barrens set as unique Hearthstone characters, have now attained max level and are now powerful Hero cards with powerful Battlecries and enhanced Hero Powers.

At least two new features are being implemented, including Objectives, which grant players three-turn bonuses, and Honourable Kill, a card effect that occurs if players kill an enemy minion with precise damage on their turn.

Delayed Release for Hearthstone Expansion

Due to the litigation brought against Blizzard in July, Hearthstone’s release was delayed, and the preceding phase’s Deadmines mini set was only recently released. Hearthstone, on the other hand, appears to be back on track, with a good finish in the Year of the Gryphon.

Hearthstone is preparing changes to its Battleground, Duel, Mercenaries, and Tavern Brawl modes, as well as balancing updates to its Traditional mode and cards, in addition to a new mini-set, seasonal event, and solo experiences.

The unveiling of Alterac Valley certainly brought on a flood of nostalgia for fans of World of Warcraft’s player-versus-player content.  Alterac Valley was one of the first two Battlegrounds in Vanilla World of Warcraft.

Blizzard has been having a lot of trouble recently due to on-going lawsuits, and some employees have even demanded the removal of CEO Bobby Kotick. These persistent issues they have been facing recently have led to other delays too. So it is possible that Hearthstone’s expansions may come to a stand-still.

Hearthstone’s latest expansion,  Fractured in Alterac Valley, will release on December 7th.

The post Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: New Discovery Tour is Now Available for Free first appeared on Get2Gaming.

Recently, the Modding team Known as SoMNst Released a 37 minute video showing the latest update to their “No VR” mod, an add-on to the critically acclaimed 2020 entry in the legendary “Half-Life”. The mod aims to make the game playable without the need for a VR headset.

Half Life Alyx Released on the 23rd of march, 2020, 13 years after the franchise’s last instalment “Half-Life 2, Episode 2”, which notoriously ended with the shocking death of beloved side character and father of player companion Alyx, Eli Vance. “Half Life: Alyx” itself was a spin off, set before mute theoretical theorist Gordon Freeman was re-inserted into the world by the extra dimensional G-man at the start of Half life 2. The story Follows Alyx Vance as she works to establish a Resistance against The Combine, an interdimensional alien race summoned to earth during the resonance cascade event of the original 1997 Half-Life.

The Half-Life series has always aimed to be on the cutting edge of games technology. The original game, released in 1997, was a huge leap forward for narrative in video games, and especially in the first person shooter genre, with subtle world building and environmental storytelling at the forefront of the experience. Its sequel, released originally in 2004, was a technological marvel, introducing real time physics simulation to the world of gaming, as well as some truly phenomenal facial animations that still help the game look Spectacular today, almost 2 decades later. Alyx continued this trend, being one of the most deep and content rich games for VR to date, with the game dumping the predecessors action tone and instead relying much more on horror to guide the experience.

However this reliance on VR technology has left many unable to experience the game due to the costs of owning such a device. This is where the no VR mod comes in. The mods goal is to remove the need for a VR headset and motion controls. Within the 37 minutes of in-development footage released on September 25th, Mod developers SoMNst show off some of their solutions to make the game work from a more traditional first person perspective. 

For example, very early on in the game you are given a number of pens and an eraser, and while in VR you are able to write on the windows of protagonist Alyx’s hideout. The mod works around this functionality by snapping the pen to the point on the screen where a gun would be held in a normal FPS and then snapping it to the window on a left click. The Demo Footage illustrates this by using these pens to carefully draw an image of the series Protagonist Gordon Freeman. 

In another instance, A door that would normally require the act of the player physically grabbing it with their VR controller to open, has been replaced with a hand icon that responds to a left click, similar to games like “Amnesia” and “SOMA”. The mod is still in development. No final release date has been stated by any of the developers and the development builds are not currently available to the public. However the footage does look very promising and with any luck it will not be long until you are able to play the game with a mouse and keyboard yourself. Half-Life: Alyx is available right now from Steam.

After four years of its initial release, Destiny 2 is finally getting a new expansion…

The popular Bungie free-to-play online multiplayer shooter, Destiny 2, is receiving its fourth expansion titled “The Witch Queen” and will be arriving across platforms on February 22, 2022.

This was announced during Destiny 2’s showcase live event at Gamescom yesterday, along with what fans can expect to see.

The Witch Queen Expansion

The Witch Queen expansion will introduce Savathûn as the new enemy. Known as The Witch Queen and sister to Oryx, the character has been hinted at ever since the game’s third expansion, The Taken King, which was initially released in September 2015.

Players will have to team up and face off with The Witch Queen, along with the Lucent Hive she is making on her Throne World, after stealing the Light and using its powers for her own creations. Players will be equipped with a whole host of upgraded gear and be allowed to customise and create their own tailored weapons too.

A new weapon archetype is also being added to The Witch Queen expansion. The Glaive, which players will be only able to access through crafting, will have extremely useful abilities such as sophisticated melee combos, shield deployment, and firing projectiles consisting of pure energy.

The live event also showcased the Light and Darkness saga will come to a dramatic conclusion in Destiny 2: Lightfall and Destiny 2: The Final Shape, hinting the story will be continued after the new expansion, with these releases coming out in 2023 and 2024 respectively.

Destiny 2 x Halo 

Bungie, the developer of Destiny 2, has also confirmed the rumours that there will be a Destiny 2 event to celebrate the company’s 30th anniversary, however, it has not been confirmed whether it is the Halo crossover that has been rumoured recently in an online leak.

The 30th-anniversary event will be free to all Destiny players later this year and will launch alongside a paid-for cosmetics pack with content based on past Bungie games Marathon and Myth. The bundle will include an exotic weapon, a new dungeon, an exotic ship and sparrow, two universal ornament sets, four emotes and a unique helmet ornament.

The company didn’t mention Halo, however, some of the designs seem to be inspired by its first creation. This might mean another Halo announcement is to be expected, or the initial, leaked plans weren’t able to happen.

Trials Fusion’s NEW DLC allows you to play as a cat riding a unicorn

At E3 last month, publisher Ubisoft announced that Trials Fusion will be receiving a new expansion, entitled Awesome Level Max. The level allows you to play as a cat riding a unicorn, which is quite a big leap from the usual motocross bikes that you use, but still pretty epic!

Players will also be able to ride the unicorn alongside those who are riding the usual bikes, when in multiplayer mode. The unicorn will apparently have the same physics as a bike when riding it.

New challenges will also be coming to the game. One of these acquires you to ride around with a very large bobblehead, and the other causes your bike to shake uncontrollably. Awesome Level Max consists of two parts: the Awesome Adventure, which features the unicorn, and Red Lynx vs. All Stars, which will showcase the best community-made maps.

The launch date for the expansion has been set for 14th July 2015, and will be made available for the PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC.

WoW: Warlords of Draenor’s boss finale has been leaked!

Warlords of Draenor has been out since November, but it has just gotten itself new content with it’s latest patch. The update also leaked the final cinematic of Warlords of Draenor’s last raid. In update 6.2, the final assault in the Hellfire Citadel has been added.

MMO Champion, a website, has leaked a video that players fight Archimonde at the end of this assault in the game, and this raid is currently rumoured to be the last in the expansion. If you don’t mid spoilers, then you can watch the video below and, on watching it, it does seem to have an air of finality about it!

Even though this could be the last raid in Warlords of Draenor, more content is still planned on being released for the game. Last November, Blizzard trademarked something called “Eye of Azshara”, so this could may well be the next expansion for the game. Who knows?!

 Final Fantasy XIV Heavensward
An expansion has been announced for Spring release!

Some exciting news for a Monday afternoon! Square Enix have announced the first expansion pack, Heavensward, for it’s MMO Final Fantasy XIV. This is set to be available in the spring of 2015.

The game will receive a brand new playable race, although it is not specified (as game director Naoki Yoshida has exclaimed). All we know is that it is not Viangaa, which was previously rumoured. Players will also be able to build their very own airships (I’ve always wanted one!) and explore such places as “Ishgard and beyond”. Also including new huge open areas.

The expansion will focus on a thousand year conflict between Ishgard and Dravania (known as the Dragonsong War) in which those playing will have to end. Square Enix have stated that will reveal more about the new expansion this Saturday 25th October at the London Fan Festival!
