Get your pens ready and calendars out to drop this date in quickly! Ubisoft have just announced a January 11 release date for Far Cry 6’s Pagan Min DLC. What a way to start the New Year!

Pagan Min’s arrival will be apart of the second DLC available for the Season Pass and will be available on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, Stadia and PC. Gamers will able to purchase it through both the Ubisoft Store and the Epic Games Store.

“Players will embody Pagan Min, the iconic villain from Far Cry 4, in a brand-new experience inspired by the roguelite genre taking place in the depths of the villain’s troubled psyche,” according to the game’s publisher.

“Blending intense action and storytelling, Pagan: Control will provide a unique opportunity for players to explore Pagan’s mind, learn more about his past, and face off against familiar faces as he struggles to break free from his cycle of guilt and regrets.”

This certainly isn’t the first former antagonist making his return. It follows last November’s release of the first Season Pass DLC, Vaas: Insanity. Arguably the most iconic Far Cry Villain it was obviously fantastic to see his return.. Available separately for $14.99 / £11.99 (although the base game is required), it lets players step into the role of Far Cry 3 villain Vaas Montenegro.

Similarly, players will also soon have the chance to take control of Far Cry 5 villain Joseph Seed, as he is the third and final piece of Season Pass DLC.

The Future Of The Far Cry Franchise And Ubisoft

Unfortunately, Ubisoft recently confirmed that the most senior creative director behind the Far Cry franchise had left the company after ten years. As a result, some fans have been left wondering where exactly the series will go to next. It seems that they have now answered that question as Far Cry 7 could shake-up the series with a greater focus on online play.

Additionally, Ubisoft also announced that Rainbow Six Extraction will be coming to the Xbox Game Pass for console, PC and Cloud. If we haven’t given enough reasons as to why the Xbox game pass is so good already, well here’s another one!

Lastly, the infamous games publisher also revealed that Ubisoft+ subscription service is coming to Xbox consoles. With all this, a new theme park on its way and some free games being handed out, it’s certainly not a dull time to be a fan of the developers. The post Far Cry 6’s Pagan Min DLC To Launch Next Week first appeared on Get2Gaming.

The Vaas DLC for Far Cry 6 will be released on November 16th, fans will be able to delve into Vaas’ criminally mad psyche. This was recently announced by Michael Mando, Vaas’ VA, on Twitter after he announced on November 10th that he would be sharing some news with us relating to the Far Cry 6 DLC.

Little is known officially, since just one Far Cry 6 Season Pass trailer teases the content, but there are two significant sources of knowledge right now. For starters, there are spoilers circulating that reveal a whole gameplay of it as well as the hidden ending for Vaas. Which I am going to avoid speaking about so that you can enjoy the DLC for yourself.

This article won’t be entirely spoiler free for the DLC however, as the DLC’s trophy list has surfaced online. The DLC will ad 10 new trophies to the base game, all of which give an interesting insight into what the extra content will involve. The trophy list essentially confirms the expansion as being roguelite-style and reveals that the DLC takes place within Vaas’ mind. Some of these trophy names are great and depict a very interesting picture of the expansion.

• Definition of Insanity—Escape Vaas’ mind at Mind Level 5

Far Cry 6’s Trophy List Calls Back to Far Cry 3

At first glance, a lot of these trophies are relatively simple tasks to carry such as discovering locations or or finding collectibles. However, some of them take it a step further: “No, I won” appears to imply, based on what has been shown so far, that Vaas is attempting to persuade himself that he defeated  Jason Brody. Clearly in the DLC setting he is deranged and delusional and trying to convince himself otherwise.

It would make sense based on what has been demonstrated so far, whereas the award dubbed “Freudian Field Day” refers to Freud’s psychoanalytic procedures. Why Vaas has so many firearms in his head I couldn’t tell you, but I would expect nothing less from him.

Puff, Puff, Vaas is a personal high-light (hehe) and brings back memories of burning weed fields to dubstep in Far Cry 3. You know the mission I’m talking about. The trophy probably has no relation to that mission, but it’s a wonderful touch. Not to mention that the collective prizes portray it as a roguelite that entails performing the same thing over and over, hence, the description of insanity. The major prize, though, is the ultimate trophy.

The last trophy, appropriately titled “Definition of Insanity,” connects back to his ideals in Far Cry 3. When coupled with the “Have I told you” trophy from Far Cry 3, which is unlocked after surviving another confrontation with Vaas. Obviously, when you combine these trophy names, you get Vaas’ famed phrase “Have I told you the definition of insanity?” That’s close enough. It’s just a good call-back to demonstrate that they’re paying attention to the character. Hopefully, they will expand on him in the DLC.

Get ready for some more Vaas madness…

Ubisoft has finally announced that the first of Far Cry 6’s roguelike premium expansions will arrive on Tuesday, November 16th.

The first expansion, named Vaas: Insanity, sees the actor Michael Mando return to play the iconic villain role who wowed us years ago. Upon release, the DLC can be purchased as part of the game’s Season Pass (trailer below).

The DLC will be essentially a roguelike experience; by this, it revolves around a “dies and retries” layout instead of the open-world format of the story mode. The studio informed us, “players will need to find new weapons and unlock power-ups to become stronger and progress deeper into the depths of Vaas’ psyche.”

Ubisoft says that fans will get a “unique opportunity to better understand Vaas’ past, personal demons, and motivations” through a blend of “intense action and storytelling.”

While Vaas: Insanity is due out on November 16, it will act as the first of three episodic adventures – with each focusing on a different Far Cry villain. The two remaining adventures will centre around Far Cry 4’s Pagan Min and Far Cry 5’s Joseph Seed when they launch in January and March 2022, respectively.

In other news, October and November have seen some big next-gen titles being released, including the likes of Call of Duty: Vanguard, FIFA 22, Far Cry 6, and Left 4 Dead’s spiritual successor, Back 4 Blood. Almost a month has passed since Far Cry 6 was released. Fans have no doubt beaten the game, cleared most of the map, and earned a majority of its achievements/trophies. In addition, Season Passes will add more content to the game.

Alongside smaller crossover missions with Danny Trejo, Rambo, and strange things, there are three major Far Cry 6 DLCs: Vaas’ Insanity DLC, Pagan Min’s Control DLC, and Joseph Seed’s Collapse DLC. As of today, there is very limited information available, though players will be able to step into the shoes of each villain, and more will be revealed tomorrow (November 10th).

A high-profile actor, Michael Mando appeared in movies and shows such as Orphan Black, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Better Call Saul (where he appeared alongside Giancarlo Esposito in Far Cry 6). However, he’s perhaps best known for his role as Vaas in Far Cry 3 and will reprise the role in the upcoming Insanity DLC. He will reveal more about this DLC and his role on November 10^th.

Mando has recently tweeted that he will be sharing some ” exciting news” regarding Vaas Insanity Far Cry 6 on November 10 at 8:30 a.m. PT/16:30pm GMT . Only once did the DLC make a real appearance, during Ubisoft Forward, where it was demonstrated officially to the world for the first time. It seems to show Vaas going crazy – or crazier in his case.

Far Cry 6’s VAAS DLC news seems pretty straightforward, but it’s not clear what else he will discuss. Perhaps he will simply discuss his role. There is a possibility that Ubisoft will release a new trailer and/or reveal a release date. The Season Pass roadmap for Far Cry 6 lists it as coming this month.

In addition, it will be interesting to see how this DLC (along with Pagan Min’s and Joseph Seed’s) impacts Far Cry 6’s overall reception. It has been considered just another game in the franchise, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. However, this DLC run has the potential to make Far Cry 6 stand out from past games by utilizing them. Either way, fans will learn more tomorrow.

Far Cry 6 has seen various improvements as well as removed content!

Ubisoft. Honey. Shnookums. You adorable little Far Cry Baby. We NEED to talk about branding! I’m no giga-brained 1080p tech-wizard, but I’m tech literate enough to know that one does not simply… You know:

Psst, while I have you, we got various versions of Far Cry 6 here at the store plus a cutesy Vaas bobblehead. Because nothing says adorable little plaything like a figure of an unhinged battered charismaniac from Far Cry 3!

Ubisoft is currently working to remove this accidental release of the work-in-progress Danny Trejo DLC. The DLC will be released as part of a new update for Stadia, PC and Luna (essentially What If Stadia but in Amazon flavour) players of Far Cry 6. Check the post-launch gameplay overview trailer for Far Cry 6 here and also this handy dandy summary of the narrative timeline of the games if you’re a lorehead like me.

Ubisoft has also claimed:

“The Dani & Danny vs Everybody mission is a work-in-progress and was accidentally released early,” […] “We’re working to remove it and look forward to when players can check out the final version. We apologize for any confusion caused and will follow up shortly with more information”

The upcoming Far Cry is also rumored to have a greater focus on online play… Sadly, we also go another day without a new gaming company calling itself ‘IbHard’ in accordance with the Macrohard On-fire school of opposite-phrasing, but hey, you take the good with the bad.

Players have offered some thoughtful criticism on the lack of NPCs in the game.

Far Cry 6 has been out since October 7th – almost a month now. Dedicated players have squeezed out most if not all of the content it has to offer. There is a bountiful supply of content in Far Cry 6, with massive environments to discover. However, players have noticed a problem with the population density of NPCs in the world.

Redditor StonewallSoyah points out that even the main operation base in Libertad is sparsely populated. It seems to be to the point of immersion-breaking: the environments don’t feel alive because there’s no one to occupy them.

NPCs are crucial for making a game feel alive. You would think that the studio that brought us Watch Dogs: Legion, a game that centres on making NPCs come to life, would have a good understanding of that rule.

Skyrim is often upheld as the gold standard of NPC interaction: every location is filled with a unique set of NPCs, and some of the most memorable ones are considered highlights of the game.

Far Cry is falling back spectacularly in this regard. Not only are NPC populations sparse, but it’s always the same NPC giving the player information at each new base, which hinders the feeling that each environment is unique.

This isn’t the first time that the Far Cry series has faced issues with NPC population density, either. In Far Cry 3, players would often capture enemy outposts, only for the same three Rakyat warrior NPCs to arrive at the outpost to claim it. Then when players revisited the outposts or other landmarks later in the game, there were little to no NPCs around to populate the area.

A great open-world game makes the player feel a part of its world. While Far Cry 6’s player-focused narrative and gameplay are strong, it’s not offering the same immersion into another world as other games. Along with Skyrim, games like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Fallout: New Vegas are densely populated with unique NPCs. In Red Dead Redemption 2, Arthur’s interactions and the forming of relationships with NPCs are crucial to fleshing him out as a character – and how the player chooses to treat NPCs can directly affect the game’s ending.

It would be great to see Ubisoft address this issue, as they continue to fix several remaining bugs in Far Cry 6. However, the game is likely set to receive more updates soon, and adding more NPCs could cause issues with performance.

AC: Valhalla has been a brilliant money maker for Ubisoft. In Ubisoft history, AC Valhalla is the publisher’s second largest profit-generating game of all time. That’s an incredible feat for the game apart of the developers  impressive portfolio.

Wondering what the biggest game is? We’re not too sure either. Unfortunately, Ubisoft didn’t reveal who the winner was in its First-Half 2021-22 Fiscal Earnings Report released today. This is what they had to say:

“Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has been outperforming Assassin’s Creed Odyssey across the board since its release. This quarter, the Siege of Paris expansion, whose creation was led by the amazing team at Ubisoft Singapore, delivered record engagement. In less than 12 months, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is already the second-largest profit-generation game in Ubisoft’s history, reflecting the remarkable strength and value of the franchise.”

Ubisoft have also said that “great new content” is on the way for Valhalla’s second year on the market which will most likely appear in the “second half of the current fiscal year.” Recent leaks have suggested this may be a Dawn of Ragnarok DLC, but it remains to be seen.

Far Cry 6 Doing Well Alongside AC: Valhalla

Similarly, Ubisoft also revealed that Far Cry 6 is performing above expected. They revealed that playtime per player is up 25% in Far Cry 6 compared to Far Cry 5. Have a fun look at what happens if it does you do stop playing though.

“Early sales are in line with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey’s solid performance, a game released in a similar timeframe” the report reads. “With an exciting post-launch plan over the coming months, Far Cry 6 is set to be a strong performer this holiday.”

“Eighty percent of Ubisoft’s investments are focused on significantly expanding its premium offering for the coming years, and notably next fiscal year with the releases of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Mario + Rabbits: Sparks of Hope, Skull & Bones, and more exciting games,” the report reads.

We hope the “and more exciting games” bit is hinting at Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time which was set for a January release. Sadly, it was delayed indefinitely, much to the disappointment of old fans of the series.

The post AC: Valhalla Is Ubisoft’s Second Biggest Game first appeared on Get2Gaming.

For about three weeks, Far Cry 6 has been available, and many gamers have been actively enjoying everything the game has to offer. Far Cry 6 provides a tremendous amount of stuff for players to discover, from the rich, bright open world to the unforgettable characters. Now, it appears that Ubisoft has released a significant patch to fix a lot of flaws in the game. The maintenance was scheduled today at 7 AM PST / 10 AM EST / 3 PM BST.

Minor flaws and malfunctions have been increasingly common in AAA games in recent years, and Far Cry 6 is no different. Given that Far Cry 6 received a day one patch, as well as the game’s ambitious open world, it’s understandable that a few technological glitches slipped between the cracks. Fortunately, Ubisoft launched a patch today that aimed to resolve many of these bugs and glitches.

The official Twitter account for Far Cry 6 announced on Twitter that the game would be undergoing maintenance, which will include fixes for all platforms. The patch addresses a variety of issues. The tweet also provides the dates and times  for when engineers were scheduled to perform maintenance, as well as the amount of space required by the patch for each system. Players of Far Cry 6 should be pleased with this fix.

It’s great how regular frequent content updates for AAA games have become in the last 10 years, and shows that developers are constantly working towards fixing their games. However, given how strict certain development plans are in terms of fulfilling deadlines, this might result in numerous problems and issues.

In any event, it’s incredible to see how far Far Cry 6 has come in such a short amount of time. While Far Cry 6 does not depart from its renowned open-world formula, it does continue to build on a successful and exciting gameplay loop that keeps the fans happy and willing to come back for more.

Far Cry 6 was announced to receive DLC in June, which would allow players to experience playing as the villains from prior Far Cry games. The numerous adversaries in Far Cry have been hailed as some of the series’ most iconic characters, so getting the chance to play as them is a very exciting opportunity. The release of each DLC campaign, on the other hand, is still a long way off.

If you haven’t played Far Cry 6 for a little while, you may just receive a mocking email from the dictator himself.

Sometimes, you start a new game full of excitement, ready to sink hours into mastering it. But then, life gets in the way. Or something new tugs at your attention. And that’s totally fine! Although it doesn’t always feel great neglecting a game you spent hard-earned money on (gamer guilt, we’ve all been there), it’s natural to lose interest in things. You’ll probably come back to it at some point, and the game isn’t going anywhere, so there’s no rush – right?

Apparently not, according to Far Cry 6‘s enemy number one, Anton Castillo. Players have been receiving these passive-aggressive emails:

In the email, Castillo thanks the player for ‘giving [him] free rein in Yara’ and tells them ‘Yara is in capable hands’. The email then includes the players stats. In this email, the player has actually sunk a considerable amount of hours into the game. If it’s supposed to be fourth-wall-breaking, it fails rather spectacularly. Why would the dictator egg on someone who single-handedly took out 2186 of his soldiers? And the stat for unique weapons seems to suggest that there are more to be found: so he’s giving the player information that could lead to his downfall.

While the email appears playful (if a little irritating) the cynic in me sees it as a ploy by Ubisoft to get players back in the game so they’ll spend money at the in-game store. No, it’s not enough just to purchase a game anymore. You’re also going to be goaded into upgrading your kit for an extra sum.

These sorts of emails are nothing new, but they’re especially annoying for single-player campaign-oriented games. It’s not like you’ve got some big event or update to tell me about! It’s really just a nuisance.

Far Cry 6 is an otherwise fantastic game that you can pick up here. I can’t promise that Castillo won’t be blowing up your inbox, though.

Ubisoft give a glimpse into the future of their beloved action-based franchise

With the release of Far Cry 6 being hot on everyone’s tongues, there is already information regarding a sequel to Far Cry 6 which hints that the series could head into a more Assassin’s Creed territory with regards to online capabilities.

According to a recent report from Axios Gaming’s Stephen Totilo, Far Cry 7 might take Ubisoft’s popular series in a totally new direction by leaning into a more “online-oriented approach”.

Totilo says that “Ubisoft appears to know a shake-up is needed” and states that his sources claim “the company was exploring a more online-oriented approach for a sequel.”

This is significant as Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier claimed that Far Cry 7 could go in “a radically different direction,” earlier this year, and that lines up with this information.

While neither Totilo nor Schreier revealed much about the new direction that the series could go in, it’s possible that Ubisoft is looking to reinvent Far Cry. The series hasn’t changed much since Far Cry 3 in 2012. In that same period, however, Ubisoft rebooted the entire Assassin’s Creed franchise, starting with 2017’s Origins. However, Totilo points out that other franchises, such as Ghost Recon and Watch Dogs, are yet to receive similar overhauls. It is notable that that these reports aren’t confirmations as things could always change and we won’t know for sure what the future of the series is until we hear it from Ubisoft itself. Online multiplayer games have become increasingly popular as the years have gone by so one can see why plugging those elements into an existing series may seem like a good way to freshen up the formula.
