RockStar Scrapping Remasters For both Red Dead Redemption as well as GTA 4

A Insider at Rockstar games known as tez2 has claimed that the RockStar have supposedly scrapped both projects. He found claimed on Twitter That both games will not be coming to fruition. He leaked this information accurately due to the company past with GTA online content within the source code.

According to a Reliable source Rockstar was clear on there motives with the two titles. Both a Remaster of both GTA 4 and Red Dead Redemption were coming to next generation consoles. This was on the table for the company , but they instead decided to not go ahead with the projects as they believed the remakes would not be well perceived. saying that ”The poor reception of the trilogy DE might be a reason behind that decision.”

Rockstar Released the brand new Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive edition in early November 2021. Rockstar promised a modern Remaster of All the GTA titles From Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

With Any new release there will be expected hiccups naturally. The game was release with a high number of technical issues as well as game files and documents which wasn’t meant to stay in the games files. Files such as Unlicensed music and developer notes , which could show data miners the plans for the games future hidden within the game itself. This would be good information for Data miners to find and leak to the gaming community which would build hype of said plans coming to the game. On the other hand Rockstar like to keep what they are planning and working on a secret so they would have removed these documents as to not spoil their potential plans.

Rockstar apologized for the state of the game to the fans and they had promised the community they would update the game to fix the current state of the game. They mentioned updating regularly to for fill this promise to the community.

Even with the many issues with the launch of the title Take-Two Interaction (Rockstar parent company).

CEO Strauss Zelnick claimed in January that the games launch of the GTA trilogy had performed ”great” since its release January. The sales figures for the game in February had sold 10 million copies since its release in November.

Original Vs Remaster

From the images above you can see on the Left is the first release of the game back in 2008 and the right in 2022. You can see the graphical different between the two images , the 2022 remaster does a perfect job of bringing us the same game and feel but making it look beautiful.

The main difference between these new titles are as follows: graphics modes, improved texture qualities, HDR options and ray tracing, faster loading, GTA Online Profile migration. However The visuals were shortly look past by the the many bugs presented in the game on launch but Rockstar have promised to fix them with regular updates.

However Modders have taken things into there own hands by trying to improve the games performance to help save the title from failing. Modders say they want Rockstar to make big changes to help the titles major flaws. These flaws have put some Gamers off GTA due to how negligent Rockstar can be towards certain titles or bugs etc.

Steam had a fantastic year in 2021. At the start of 2021, the PC gaming retail and social platform’s user population surpassed 25 million peak concurrent users, and by the end of the year, it had surpassed 27 million. That momentum appears to be building in 2022. Steam’s highest concurrent user record was first broken on January 2nd, when it approached 28 million, then again on January 9th, when it crossed 28 million for the first time, and finally on January 16th, when it approached 29 million. Steam has already smashed its concurrent user record for the fourth week in a row in 2022.

Steam has added almost a million users to its top concurrent user record and crossed the threshold of 29 million users online at the same time, up from under 27 million prior to the start of 2022. The new record is 29,198,370 to be exact. It’s a remarkable success for a platform that began in 2003, reached 10 million users in 2015, 20 million users in 2020, and is now on track to reach 30 million users in the next months.

Surging Popularity for Steam in Recent Weeks

There’s no obvious explanation why Steam has had such a strong start to 2022, or why it managed to surpass 29 million concurrent users this week. The winter holiday sale has ended, the top-selling game of the week is the PC port of God of War: 2018 Edition, and there are no major events planned, such as Valve’s annual Dota 2 Tournament. This appears to be a straightforward result of Steam’s strong expansion.

While there is no obvious cause for Steam’s unexpected jump to over 29 million concurrent users, there are some contributing variables. Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel and Monster Hunter Rise were published this week and are already among the top ten games in terms of concurrent players. Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel even reached a stunning peak of 263,000 players. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2, and PUBG: Battlegrounds, Steam’s three most popular titles at the moment, are all doing exceptionally well. On its own, CS:GO had little over a million concurrent users.

The question that needs to be asked right now is how far Steam can go, both in the short and long term. Steam has significantly grown in both 2020 and 2021, with growth peaks around April in both years. As a result, another few months of growth for Steam in 2022, as well as more growth in late 2022, wouldn’t be surprising. There are also several major PC games in the horizon. On February 4th, Dying Light 2 will be released, followed by the MMO Lost Ark on February 11th, the Witch Queen expansion for Destiny 2 on February 22nd, and Elden Ring on February 25th.

Steam’s four-week streak of new releases appears to be on track to continue for some time. Steam could easily break its new concurrent user record on any given weekend, barring a single terrible week. The debut of the Steam Deck in February will only add to the excitement. Steam’s true peak may be millions farther ahead, but 30 million looks well within reach.

Sony have  published separate top 20 charts for the most downloaded games on the PS4 and PS5 in both the US/Canada and Europe, as well as top ten charts for PSVR and Free-to-Play games.

In both the US/Canada and Europe, the Sony has produced separate top 20 lists for PS4 and PS5.In addition, each region’s top ten rankings for PlayStation VR games and free-to-play titles have been revealed.

Sports games accounted for 20 of the 80 spots on the PS4 and PS5 lists, while Call of Duty and Rockstar games each earned five spots.

NBA 2K22 topped the PS5 chart in the United States and Canada, while FIFA 22 was the top of the European chart.

Grand Theft Auto V was the most downloaded PS4 game in the United States and Canada, while FIFA 22 held this spot too in Europe.

The Game Developers Conference is an annual gathering of all manner of professionals within the gaming industry. The Game Developers Choice Awards, or GDCA, are one of the most highly anticipated events of the yearly conference, honouring game developers who excelled in audio, design, storytelling, innovation, and social effect in the previous year. This year’s event will be hosted in San Francisco, CA, through March 21^st to March 25^th, despite being hosted online for the last two years. The nominees for Game of the Year have recently been revealed.

There are five games in the running for the GDCA Game of the Year award, three of which will be known to those who watched The Game Awards in December 2021. Resident Evil Village, Arkane Studios’ time-hopping first-person shooter Deathloop, and TGA Game of the Year winner It Takes Two are all in with a chance for the GDCA prize. Inscryption, a horror-themed deckbuilder produced by Devolver Digital, and Forza Horizon 5 are also on the list.

Several of the candidates for the GDCA Game of the Year award this year have  been nominated in other categories too. Deathloop has been nominated for six awards, It Takes Two has been nominated for five, while Forza Horizon 5 has received four nominations. The GDCA ceremony on March 23 will announce the winners in all categories, and the event will be livestreamed on the GDC Twitch channel.

The post Game of the Year Award Nominees for GDC 2022 have been Revealed! first appeared on Get2Gaming.

For the unfortunately unfamiliar: Persona 5 is a story-based game developed by Atlus. Famous on release for it’s viscerally pleasurable jazz-rock soundtrack, fresh take on turn-based Pokemon-style combat, brilliant story and all-around dripping with more style than Roadman Shaq doing the fusion dance with Sidney Poitier (rest in power king). One story mode playthrough averages at 100 hours, so it’s basically like a playable anime season… Or about one one-trillionth the length of One Piece! Speaking of manga, Persona 5 has one of those, find out more on that here!

Needless to say, I guess you could say I am a bit of a Persona 5 fan.

I finished my first playthrough around 2018 or 19, not long before I’d go to university. This was on account of not wanting to have to balance education, exercise, a part-time job and social time with their real-world equivalents! Cut to around 2020, I then did most of another playthrough to see character storylines that I didn’t explore my first time around.

Now it’s January 2022 and Persona 5 Strikers has come to PS+ for a month. I was aware that Persona 5 Strikers was made in the style of the Dynasty Warriors games, so in lay terms, the gameplay would be less turn-based strategy and more hack-n-slashy. What I wasn’t expecting was for Strikers to replicate Persona 5’s style to such a faithful degree: The slick art style, the menu interfaces, enemy health bars being shaped like hearts, the visual-novel audiobook-meets-comic cutscenes, all that good stuff. After the tutorial combat mission, the story scenes kick in and it’s all self-aware to a sacharine degree, with the in-game cast from Persona 5 reminiscing about how it’s been a long time since they hung out together. Business as usual so far, then comes a point where the main cast are talking about how they’ve been getting along with their lives… Then Ryuji, the team’s resident himbo, casually asked “what about you? How’ve you been holding up”? I then preceded to laugh out loud maniacally (lol), only to then read the three dialogue responses I could choose from. “Things are pretty nice”, “eh, it’s whatever” or “… I missed you guys”… AND THERE IT IS! That’s the moment I started crying like… Like… *insert comically hyperbolic parallel here*!

So, what have we learned from this? That it’s cool to be nostalgically passionate about something? That being wink-nudgingly self-aware and poking fun at things doesn’t make you immune to feelings? That maybe attempting to monetize real emotions (or the presentation of real emotions if you want to be cynical) isn’t always bad because it’s sometimes entertaining? In the words of Big Joel, “I don’t know, maybe”! At the end of the day, I wrote this because I had fun doing so and think maybe my way of retelling the story could be fun for you folks too.

Halo Infinite has received some criticism recently over the lack of multiplayer playlists. Well, the Slayer-only playlist is “officially locked and loaded for the update next week,” according to a Reddit post by 343 Industries developer u/ske7ch343.

They went on to say that on Tuesday, December 14th, four new playlists will be added to the game: Slayer, Fiesta, FFA, and Tactical Slayer (SWAT).

The post also hinted at more modifications to the challenge system on the way.

“Next week’s update will also include adjustments to challenges, including  removing some particularly  frustrating mode-specific ones, reducing some requirements for others, making the weekly ultimate challenge less intensive.”

“Personally, I’m eager to check out the new challenge category based on accumulating player score (a small initial step toward ‘performance-based XP’),” he continued. Next week, we’ll have additional information to share on Halo Waypoint.”

It was recently uncovered that several hidden modes for Halo Infinite’s multiplayer could be accessed by playing the game offline.

The full list of hidden game modes are:

As the game’s first limited-time mode during the Fractured Tenai event, Fiesta Slayer, a variation of Slayer in which players spawn with a random weapon each time. This is a good mode for adding some fun diversity, but not for those wanting a more competitive experience.

The post Halo Infinite Will Introduce Slayer Playlist in Next Update first appeared on Get2Gaming.

A recent listing through a Chinese retailer has leaked that the next expansion in the Assassin’s Creed franchise is set to be the biggest yet. Dawn of Ragnarök will supposedly release on March 10^th 2022, and will take place within the 9 Realms of Norse Cosmology according to the translations.

The translation states:

“The world of mythology, shouldering the urgent task of saving children, unleashing the brand-new supernatural power of the thunderbolt. After this shocking Viking legend, save your own flesh and blood before the gods are swallowed by the catastrophe.”

This statement was made alongside some promotional images that were posted on Reddit.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarök

Dawn of Ragnarök, according to a previous leak, will provide Eivor a whole variety of new powers and weaponry. Brief invisibility, the capacity to fly like a bird, teleportation arrows, a chainmail-piercing spear, freezing powers, and the ability to resuscitate foes are among the abilities available.

The expansion is most likely what publisher Ubisoft has been hinting at in advance of a live webcast on Monday, December 13.t on Monday, December 13.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is getting a second year of expansions, which is a first for the franchise, and Ubisoft has already stated that the material will surprise gamers.

Ubisoft has previously stated that a new Assassin’s Creed Valhalla title update will be released next week.Title update 1.4.1 adds additional combat, stealth, and exploration difficulty options, allowing players to fine-tune their game experience even more. It will also feature a number of changes to help with detection and social stealth.

The next update will require you to re-download the entire game, annoyingly. This will apparently reduce the games overall file size however, which is a bonus.

Dawn of Ragnarök, AC Valhalla’s next expansion will supposedly launch on March 10^th 2022.

Gameplay for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League dropped at the 2021 Game Awards. We got a glimpse at gameplay for all four playable characters: King Shark, Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, and Deadshot. The teaser begins with the Suicide Squad insulting the Flash by referring to him as the Justice League’s mascot, before cutting to a gameplay montage filled with intense combat. Here’s a look at the trailer:

What to Expect in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

The conflict took place in the heart of the city, and it included the kind of chaotic combat you’d expect from the Suicide Squad. We witnessed footage of King Shark climbing buildings, engaging in lightning fast physical combat with his fists, and, quite gruesomely, biting off an enemies head.

Harley Quinn swung in the air with what appeared to be a grapple, then she swung her baseball bat from the ground to take out enemies. We saw some third-person shooter action in Deadshot. From the looks of what we saw, every character has a good mix of ranged and close-combat options. The game looks more like a third-person shooter than it does a superhero – well villain, in this case – game, but maybe it will feel different in the whole game.

Suicide Squad was first announced in 2020. It will be Rocksteady’s first game after the Batman Arkham series, and is set in the same universe.  Up to four players will be able to control the game’s antiheroes.

No specific release date has been given at this time for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, but  the game is expected to release  in 2022 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Prison Architect Free in Epic Games Store

If Godfall doesn’t pique your interest, the highly renowned Prison Architect, a deep, genuinely satisfying – if inevitably dismal – management game that tasks players with designing, building, staffing, and (hopefully) efficiently running their own prison, is your second freebie this week.

Since its initial release in 2015, Prison Architect has passed between the hands of Introversion Software and Double Eleven, all under the supervision of Paradox Interactive. It’s also been greatly expanded with many paid DLC, all of which is now available for the first time on the Epic Games Store. The giveaway, on the other hand, is an already extensive base game, which should give novices plenty of opportunity to determine whether they want to dig deeper into their pockets for more.

Epic has yet to release more details about the mystery gift now being marketed on its shop, it did something similar last holiday season, delivering a free new mystery game every day during its Holiday Sale.

According to a recent leak from Dealabs member Billbill-Kun, who has previously properly leaked PS Plus and Xbox Live Games line-ups over several months, Epic’s Holiday Sale will run from December 16th to January 6th, 2022, and will include a total of 15 games. The first 14 will be available for one day only, while the final 14 will be available for one week. Despite the fact that Billbill-Kun did not reveal the entire list, they claim Shenmue 3 will be the first game to be given away.

Gather ’round ladies, gents and esteemed Paidia pilgrims! Cuphead dropped a trailer at The Game Awards, this time with brand new gameplay and a release date to boot! Gosh-golly, Christmas sure is coming early folks, and so am I!

The DLC in question has actually been in the works for a long time, so needless to say, this was a good time for the folks at Studio MDHR to make a comeback with something suitably spectacular. Cuphead The Delicious Last Course is set to release on June 30th 2022. We’ve also covered news of Netflix producing a Cuphead TV show and you can view the teaser trailer for it right here.

What To Expect from The Cuphead DLC: Based on the trailer, it seems the new and creatively-named ‘Diel-sea Island’ will have four different themed world sections:

Jee whizz, it’s gonna be a doosey folks! We’ve got the mountainous mountains guarded by The Suspiciously Hairy Yeti in desperate need of a Manscape sponsorship! We got the snowy tundras just in time for the Christmas season, that features a cheeky Hollow Knight easter egg for any eagle-eyed viewers! Take to The H’Wild H’west and shoot into that cow girl as if it were Alexis Texas in a Django parody!

We also have footage of a knight (in both senses of the Chess way of looking at things), though sources remain divided on whether horses exist, according to my own rigorously researched… Reddit posts.

Cuphead The Delicious Last Meal will be playable on Mac, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One.
