According to the game post, Bungie (the developers of games such as halo and destiny) have been spotted creating a collaboration with a rising titan within the Chinese gaming industry, NetEase.

This collaboration is said to be for producing the new “unannounced FPS mobile game” which happens to be alongside the claim that NetEase has on a new Destiny game for well over two years, as well as the fact that it seems to be a new title instead of a mobile version of Destiny 2. Furthermore TGP reported last year on a large amount of job listings for a mobile title in the Destiny franchise.

To top that all off there’s more information about Bungie beginning work on their own game engine for mobile, seemingly taking them one step closer to the mobile market of gaming. This plan is only furthered more by their partnership with NetEase due to NetEase’s expertise in the mobile gaming industry.

Quite a few videos have been made covering the topic and the post announcing this information that was gathered from a LinkedIn profile of an game artist at NetEase.

the CEO of Bungie, Pete Parsons has said that NetEase has “a significant amount of experience in mobile we don’t have” as well as the fact that the partnership will allow them to “incubate new ideas”. Furthermore Pete said “We want to be able to build games that are inspiring people from around the world, and this partnership in part will allow us to do that, to begin that incubation and development process in a real way,” which further shows both sides devotion to the concept of a mobile Destiny game as well as Bungies devotion to entering the mobile gaming industry.

Sony stated in early January of this year that they intend to acquire Bungie in a deal worth over 3 billion, which relates further to Bungies other aims at expanding the Destiny universe, such as they’re active attempts at hiring to get into the filming industry, that of which is being furthered and realised due to the acquisition by Sony. Totaki stated that “Bungie want to nurture the IP they have in a multi-dimensional manner” – “For that, we believe we can help” – “Bungie can leverage our platform so that their IP can flourish and grow”, allowing Bungie the ability to utilize their Platform as a home for the new project supposedly in the works.

Playstation has allegedly told its studios they can’t comment publicly on reproductive rights

Bungie’s CEO Pete Parsons has stated Sony Interactive Entertainment’s ( SIE ) imminent acquisition of the studio won’t stop the creators of Destiny from standing up for what it believes in.

Last week SIE Head Jim Ryan sent studio employees an email reminding them to “Respect differences of opinion” with regard to the sensitive subject of reproductive rights.

The email reminder which was sent after a leaked Supreme Court Draft apparently exposed plans to overrule Roe vs. Wade, which legalised abortion across the US is said to have enraged Playstation employees and sent shockwaves across all of Sony’s studios including Insomniac Games the creatives behind Spiderman.

According to leaked emails sent from Insomniac studio Head Ted Price, the studio had compiled a comprehensive reply to Playstation Studios boss Herman Hulst in which a large collective of Insomniac Studios staff appealed to the parent company to “Do better by employees directly affected” by the situation.

SIE are now reportedly working to improve inter-studio relations collaborating closely with Insomniac Games to put forward a scheme to provide financial aid to employees who have to make travel and temporary living arrangements outside of their home states to receive reproductive care.

Playstation is also reportedly planning to match a $50,000 donation Insomniac is making to the “Women’s Reproductive Rights Assistance Project”

Price however also added that Playstation won’t allow any of its studios to publicly comment on reproductive rights.

Bungie, the latest in a long line of targeted studio acquisitions in the early stages from Sony Playstation is one of the most high profile video-game companies to vocalise publicly its own position on the subject of reproductive rights in recent weeks.

“The leaked draft decision by the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade represents a blow to freedom in America and is a direct attack on human rights,” It had said earlier this month.

“Standing up for reproductive choice and liberty is not a difficult decision to make, and Bungie remains dedicated to upholding these values.”

Earlier in the week, a Twitter user added it would “really suck if Sony put a muzzle on Bungie in future”.

A senior community manager at Bungie responding to the comment offered full confidence that “there will never be a ‘muzzle’ big enough to stop us from standing up for what’s right.”

The statement was given full support by Bungie CEO Parsons, who simply replied “Yes.”

Sony publicly revealed in January that Bungie and Sony had come to an agreement to collaborate and operate under the Sony umbrella of its world-renowned creative Sony Studios. The agreement between Sony and Bungie allows Bungie full autonomy and freedom of publishing rights to its own Destiny and Destiny 2 IP remaining a wholly independant multiplatform studio and has reiterated that future Bungie releases will remain multiplatform for the foreseeable future.

The Sony acquisition of Bungie is reportedly valued at a whopping $3.6 Billion and is currently still pending due to FTC investigations but Sony remains confident expecting the acquisition to be fully complete by the end of the year.

The post Bungie CEO: We Won’t Be Muzzled By Sony After Acquisition! first appeared on Get2Gaming.

Halo Infinite developer 343 Industries has been attacked by angry fans of the game after the Season 02: Lone Wolves update of the game had recently released. The studio made controversial changes to the game that has affected enjoyment for the already shrinking playerbase. One of which recently, was the removal of the “glitch” weapon, the “tank gun”, which was found in the campaign section of the game. The Tank gun was a popular, overpowered gun that the player could find that would shoot Scorpion tank shells. It was often used in speedruns, legendary difficulty runs, LASO runs and for fun in general. Using it made the campaigns boss fights rather trivial as it was so powerful.

Due the the public outcry about the change in the latest update, 343 Industries has decided that they will be adding the gun back in the upcoming Season 2 patch. This is just one of the changes announced about the reversal of changes by the community manager of 343 Industries, John Junyszek.

The tank gun was thought to be a nod back to the Scarab Gun easter egg found in Halo 2 and Halo 2: Anniversary, which was a well-known feature of the games. The tank gun however, was supposedly not intended to be included in the release version of the game, which is why it was dubbed a glitch.

It was an invisible object, with no name, placed on top of the far railgun of the crashed ship, on the mission Outpost Tremonius. While in the players hand, it remains invisible and affects the use of the players abilities like vaulting over walls, attacking with melee and using certain equipment. However, the benefits outweigh the drawbacks, you can and will absolutely destroy enemies and send them flying using this gun. It took players less than a month into the games release to find it, and quickly became well-received.

343 Industries claim that they are actively listening to feedback and taking it seriously. It is hoped by the players of Infinite, that the developers will continue doing this as to prevent such contentious changes again in the future. The developers have previously mentioned Halo Infinite being part of a 10 year plan of the Halo games universe, so it is in their best interest to keep spirits high to retain loyal players, while trying to draw in new players.

The new update will address various concerns and requests

Halo Infinite will receive its “first backend skill update” since launch to address inaccurate skill assessment and uneven player skills in multiplayer matches. This has been addressed in a new matchmaking update blog made earlier today, and with a Tweet that the official Halo account has posted:

Community manager John Junyszek noted that developer 343 Industries “has been analyzing real matches since launch” and “these learnings [live data] will help the system become even better at assessing player skills” to place them more accurately between skill distributions from here on.

When the new update rolls out though, all players will have their Competitive Skill Ranking (CSR) ranks reset so that “everyone can get an updated CSR that is more indicative of their skill” in Halo Infinite. The updated CSR though will place players a whole tier below their current ranks.

“Since we saw that the CSR system was being overly generous since launch, these changes are being rolled out to help bring things closer in line to where they should be,” explained Junyszek. “This period led to a full tier inflation of ranks and, as a result, most players should expect to be placed a full tier lower (Diamond players will find themselves in Platinum, Platinum players will find themselves in Gold, etc.) after this rank reset.”

343 Industries will be rolling out the ranked matchmaking update next week on February 22, 2022. With this, the developer will continue to monitor matches and how ranked players are progressing. The multiplayer community should hence expect more of such updates down the road to keep the system “up to date with the latest player behaviors.”

Last weekend, many players had gone online with complaints about a broken ranked matchmaking system. They were being placed in uneven matches with average-ranked players going up against highly skilled ones. 343 Industries took immediate notice of the problem and resolved the crisis by the start of the week.

The root cause had not been shared, but it had been pointed out that the problem was not part of the matchmaking improvements which were introduced a day before.

Halo Infinite was one of last years biggest releases, Coming out right at the last second and setting records with its free to play multiplayer’s surprise release. However, 3 months on and the games population is beginning to drop off a bit.

Now, Some will tell you this is down to the Numerous minor controversies the game has faced, such as desync/connection issues or the monetization practices of the game. However, lets be real here: most people dont actually play halo for the multiplayer long term. Like yeah, everyone will give it a go but will probably move back to their typical Multiplayer game of choice. Most people play Halo for the campaign modes, and by this point… yeah most people will have completed it by now, so player drop-off is to be expected to a degree.

However these small flaws are not to be ignored. For example, Reddit user AquaBlader has recently pointed out that the generic loading screen image is boring, and its the only one in the game right now. This is also a downgrade as compared to Halo 5, as that game used concept art for the loading screen art.

As of right now, 343 industries are working on fixing Desync, and once that’s gone the game will be in a much better state. After that though, 343 should look into fixing small quality of life problems such as these loading scenes.

Halo has been at the forefront of the gaming world for the last two decades now. The iconic gaming franchise has given us some memorable moments and has valiantly served as Xbox’s flagship series since the launch of the original console.

As such, it should come as no surprise that many fans have been influenced by the franchise, with one gamer even managing to create an electric guitar based on one of the most recognisable weapons in the games. This is the content we’re here for.

Obviously, a major part of the Halo series is the wide variety of weapons and vehicles we can take hold of. As the series has evolved, so has the weapon roster, with assualt rifles, plasma pistols, needlers and many more making their introduction to the series at some point. Each one has its own unique design that any Halo fan would spot from a mile off. But how exactly do you transform one melee weapon into an electric guitar? Well, check out it right here.

Looks pretty incredible, doesn’t it? The Instagram User,  Kevin Nathan,  proudly showed off his tribute to Halo, and its certainly kicked up a storm. It encapsulates precisely how the swords look in-game, but manages to maintain a light blue colour in the dark also. Not only this, but the fact the guitar is fully functional too makes it just that more impressive!

It’s undoubtedly fascinating how people can be so imaginative with these things. It just goes to show the stretch of Halo’s influence upon gaming culture, and the series only looks to keep improving. With the new Halo Infinite receiving great reviews, an upcoming series on its way and surprise praise from a famous movie director there really is no limit on how long the franchise can go on for. Long may that continue!

The power of Halo 3 is a curious thing. Make one man weep. Make a bratty kid scream racial slurs down the microphone. But, in a shocking twist of fate, we’ll be talking about a little nugget of wholesome goodness. A fable of star-cross’d gamer-bros!

Online access to Halo 3 servers has recently shut down for Xbox 360 players, so I’m legally and morally required by The Church of Orthodox Gamers to press F to pay respects.

What’s worse is that the campaign mode was even playable with up to 3 other players with online play, so that opens up a whole other can of worms with “hey, game’s preservation is a big deal in some circles, but what about discontinued online features”? Food for thought.

Story Time: A Reddit post to r/halo by one TheYoungCalves (henceforth ‘Calvin’ for brevity’s sake) revealed a message sent to their father who played with them while using the tag ‘Golden Ox’. Calvin sent a screenshot of the message from a fellow player and rival of theirs shortly after the servers shut down.

And now, the state-mandated anti-corporate roasting power hour: 343 Industries announced the closing of Xbox 360 servers for old Halo games in December, after 14 years of online play. In a shocking twist of fate not at all foreshadowed in this paragraph’s subtitle, it seems closing the servers was motivated by money, as you’ll have to buy  ‘Halo: The Master Chief Collection’ if you want to access the online modes of past Halo games.

I mean, I’m not saying that getting multiple games for the price of one is bad, but those slopes are looking pretty slippery as far as gaming preservation is concerned!

‘Halo 3 on 360 was more to a lot of us than just a game, maps, or modes. It had a social aspect that hadn’t been matched by any 343 endeavor, with pre and post game lobbies, custom games and forge at launch, etc. It launched before Discord, before even voice parties were big, so those pre and post game lobbies were always energetic. You made friends and enemies quick, and they’d stick with you sometimes for years and years’ –I_Like_Halo_Games, Professional Redditteer.

Even calling it the best of the Halo series. And with fixes for the game already confirmed, seems the main issues with the game’s multiplayer will be getting ironed out, hell yeah!

The Halo Infinite devs at 343 say the Big Team Battle mode should be getting fixed up this week, plus a ‘Halo Infinite Cyber Showdown’ event is dropping tomorrow!

The devs also announced a reduction in prices for the in-game micro-transaction store, which is all well and good… Though in mentioning this, I’m also divinely moved by the RNJesus Chr1st to remind y’all that while these things in moderation are fine, a lot of companies and games (cough, cough, loot box controversies) use predatory gambling techniques that tie the part of your brain that loves Overwatch skins to the part of your brain that responds to randomized Pavlovian conditioning!

In many ways, crossplay is a great thing: it enables us to play with friends who don’t share the same platform as us. It was initially very highly requested and has been backed by Microsoft for years. However, Xbox gamers are now looking for a way to opt-out of crossplay.

This is due to popular shooter games like Halo Infinite and Call of Duty dealing with cheaters in the competitive space. Free-to-play titles suffer greatly, as hackers can just create another account following a ban. While there’s an option to disable crossplay in Call of Duty: Warzone, if you try to load into a playlist on Xbox it will force you to re-enable it. On PlayStation, however, you can dismiss the prompt and continue to the playlist with crossplay still disabled. Warzone players on Xbox have been complaining about this forced crossplay for over a year, through comments, YouTube videos, forum discussions, and more.

Cheaters or no cheaters, though, shooters are easier to play with a mouse. But I, like many gamers, find playing with a controller to be a more fun experience. Plenty of console gamers don’t own a PC fit for gaming, either. There’s no need to force Xbox gamers to compete with those using a mouse when the player pool is plentiful either way. This would provide a better experience since you could choose to game only with people who have equal advantages to you.

I really hope Microsoft get around to fixing this, or they could be losing some of their Xbox player base on those titles.

While reaction to Halo infinites Multiplayer and single player has been mostly positive, one thing that has not been as well received is the games monetization. The games multiplayer component is free to play, and the game’s battle passes are permanent, but the XP rates for the battle pass being tied to challenges and the high price of skins in the store have been heavily criticized.

A quick glance over at the Halo Subreddit Shows that many are dissatisfied with the prices of items in the game. u/boxops (linked below) Points out that a single Helmet costs $20, while another commenter further down said that they would happily have paid full price for the multiplayer if it meant a return to the traditional unlock system.

While 343 have don’t a lot to quickly address a lot of Players criticism of the game, such as Devoted slayer playlists and fixing the battle pass progression somewhat, the studio has remained deafly silent about changes to the store. It can be argued that the pricing of items in Halo infinites store is not too far off from pricing in other games, however this is a new feature for the halo series and some fans are, understandable, unhappy. For a comparison point, Destiny 2 (a game developed by the same people who made the original halo games), charges $20 for 2300 Silver (an in game currency). the amount can be exchanged for an entire cosmetic set for armour, plus leaving you with about 800 Silver left over, were as in halo infinite this would only get you a helmet.

With all this being said, in the wake of a recent shutdown of the Halo Subreddit, it does need to be said that while it is ok to want change in the game, it is not ok to abuse the developers online.
