The renowned Japanese videogame giants and publishing house behind legendary and iconic gaming franchises such as StreetFighter, Megaman, Resident Evil and Monster Hunter, Capcom have listed their “All time best-selling videogames“

Capcom have compiled and listed their entire historys released titles and compiled them into the All-time best selling with over 100 of Capcoms titles surpassing 1M units with not surprisingly Monster Hunter World being far and away Capcoms most successful franchise to date leading the pack at a monstrous 18M units sold which released in 2018 on all major formats.

At a distant second place surprisingly at 10.8 M units sold to date is the critically acclaimed Resident Evil 7 which was a successful soft reboot of the franchise that  preceded Monster Hunter World a year earlier.

Within Capcoms top10 it is not surprisingly dominated by variations and spin offs of the Monster Hunter series leading the charge with recent entries of Resident Evil and Street Fighter also making up the list.

The oldest Capcom title to get into the top10 is StreetFighter 2 which released all the way back in 1992 on the now legendary SNES at a 6.3M units sold to date with somewhat surprisingly the latest Street Fighter V which released in 2016 trailing by a whisker at 6.2M units sold to date.

No better time to play the Iceborne expansion, thanks to these two collabs leaving shortly

Crossover events in video games are always guaranteed fun, and there’s been plenty out this year thanks to games like Fortnite always offering different events all year round, and the Monster Hunter franchise is no exception. Yet crossover events are only for a limited time and eventually have to leave the game.

Capcom sent out a reminder yesterday that two crossover events for its Monster Hunter World game will be leaving the game at the end of the week, so if you have not already, you better get playing the Assassin’s Creed and Monster Hunter movie collaboration event quests before time runs out.

Iceborne Crossover Events

Capcom sent two reminders out yesterday that the two collabs, Assassin’s Creed and Monster Hunter movie collaboration event quests, will be removed from Monster Hunter World: Iceborne on December 3. The developer originally announced this on November 5 but wanted to give fans a reminder that they do not have long before all the exclusives leave the expansion.

The Assassin’s Creed Collaboration Event was released in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne on December 4, 2020. The event quest “SDF: Silent, Deadly, and Fierce” was added and is an 8-star quest level requiring HR14 or higher to participate. The player gets pitted in this event against an Odogaron, Deviljho, and finally a Lunastra. Once completed, the player is rewarded with Senu’s Feather, which is required to craft the Assassin’s Hood Mantle and the Bayek Layered Armour. The Assassin’s Hood Mantle increases movement speed and allows the player to hide quicker. If you have already received the armour, you will still be able to use it after the event leaves the game.

The Monster Hunter movie collaboration was released in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne at the same time, on December 4, 2020. It was a year-long deal with the movie production company that saw players live out Artemis’ (voiced by Milla Jovovich) return to the fantastic lands of Monster Hunter World. To access it, players would need to be ranked MR1 or higher. Once the quests are completed, the player will be rewarded with Artemis’s Notebook, which is required for crafting the Artemis layered armour. Logging in during the event will also award players with 30 Ancient Potions, 30 Dust of Life, 10 Golden Eggs, 3 True Armor Spheres, and 1 Earplug Jewel+4.

Players have until December 3 to play the two crossover events in Monster Hunter World, which is available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

The post Monster Hunter World: Two Collaboration Events Will be Leaving in December first appeared on Get2Gaming.

Dauntless is a free-to-play co-op based action game that sees players team up in groups of four to take down big scary monsters! So not unlike the Monster Hunter games (psst, which we have alot of! Plus one with an OLED Switch). The game is currently available on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

Dauntless is developed by the folks at Phoenix Labs and has been announced to come to Xbox Series X/S as well as PS5 on December 2nd with a slew of graphical improvements. Dauntless has technically been playable on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S for a while due to backwards compatibility options, but now there will be explicitly console-specific versions of the game available with all the bells and whistles they can load in.

The Bells and Whistles:

PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles will run the game at 4K and 60 FPS, while Xbox Series S will be at at 1440p and 60 FPS. I’m a bit of a graphics commoner considering 720p on YouTube videos is crisp-looking by my standards, so your mileage on the differences may vary.

All console versions are also boasting 90% faster loading times and assorted visual improvements.  New lighting, improved draw distances, volumetric fog and other environmental effect improvements to trees, grass, water and shadows. The PS5 version is also set to support 3D audio and DualSense adaptive triggers.

36 new achievements and trophies will be added to Dauntless. Cross-play and cross-progression will be available across all console versions.

Dauntless Review: The game starts you off in a tutorial area to get your bearings of the controls. It took me about half an hour of stick-fiddling to wrap my head around the controls, but once you get the hang of the camera, you’re a-okay. The combat itself is also fun while encouraging strategy and caution, since most of the boss monsters don’t stagger easily outside of when you take a specific amount of their health. It’s worth experimenting with the 7 different weapon types, but even if only one works for you, different enemies have different elemental weaknesses, so hanging onto different weapons is a must. Each weapon also has a unique extra skill tailored to it, as well as comboners for days! You’ll have to do a handful of short mandatory quests before you can play with others, but that’s a small price to pay for salvation. Overall, Dauntless is a fun time with friends, very much recommend.

In a recent report, video game company Capcom behind Street Fighter, Resident Evil and other beloved series has claimed Pragmata has been making steady progress.

Alongside this, Capcom has also confirmed free DLC updates coming to Monster Hunter Rise and Resident Evil Village!

What is Pragmata? Pragmata is an upcoming video game announced in a 2020 PlayStation 5 reveal event. Based on the trailer, it seems to be shaping up as a Death Stranding style atmospheric sci-fi action-horror seeing you explore a largely abandoned world infested with dangerous beings, seemingly focused around a rescue mission of sorts. Capcom also announced it will be hiring over 100 “graduates” and “seasoned mid-career professionals” to aid in the company’s growth and further the development of new IPs (intellectual properties) like Pragmata. During a PlayStation 5 sizzle reel, Capcom also announced in January 2021 that the game’s release will be delayed to around 2023. Considering how ball-fondlingly crisp the graphics are on this game and they’ll likely have to keep up that quality for gameplay, hopefully another delay update comes out sometime, so as not to rush the newbies and potentially lead to crunch work, which is a whole other can of worms. At the same time, fingers crossed this doesn’t become another Deep Down situation (another Capcom game in the works that ended up getting scraped).

A new Monster Hunter attraction has been announced at Universe Studios Japan that will immerse you in the hunt

Capcom announced that a VR attraction for the Monster Hunter franchise will be making its way to Universal Studios Japan at the start of 2022, titled Monster Hunter World: Iceborne. 

This attraction is based on the Monster Hunter World: Iceborne expansion pack that was released in 2019 for PS4 and Xbox One.

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne

The Monster Hunter World: Iceborne XR Walk VR attraction at Universal Studios Japan will feature a story set in Seliana- the new base built as the headquarters for investigations in the Hoarfrost Reach. Players will traverse the virtual environment to take on the fearsome Velkhana, the flagship monster of the Monster Hunter World: Iceborne expansion. The VR attractions will have a total of five selectable weapons; the Long Sword, Great Sword, Hammer, Switch Axe, and Heavy Bowgun to take down the monsters with.

The Monster Hunter World: Iceborne XR Walk VR attraction will arrive on January 21 2022 and stay until August 28.

This isn’t the first time Capcom’s IP has entered Universal Studios Japan as there have been previous Monster Hunter and Resident Evil attractions available. The Resident Evil attraction also had visitors traverse in a recreation of Raccoon City in a fully immersive experience as well.

Monster Hunter isn’t the only franchise that will be coming to Universal Studios Japan as it was recently announced Pokemon would be joining the list of attractions in 2022.

The post Monster Hunter: New Universal Studios Attraction With VR Experience first appeared on Get2Gaming.

It has recently been revealed by Capcom that they currently do not have plans to implement cross-save functionality into the PC version of Monster Hunter Rise, which will launch on Steam on the 12^th January. This is also the scheduled release for the Sunbreak DLC, which will add new stories, locales, and monsters.

Monster Hunter Rise released in March , but its storyline wasn’t finished; its cliff-hanger conclusion was added in an update that released in May. That update brought additional creatures and story content, as well as the game’s real ending. The future Sunbreak expansion will most likely build on the additional content.

They recently said in a Tweet that although they have considered adding cross-save support to the PC port of Monster Hunter Rise, it is not a feature they are currently working on.

We’ve heard your requests for Cross-Save / Cross-Play for #MHRise & #Sunbreak, but unfortunately, after looking into it throughout the development process, we found we are unable to implement it this time. As always, we appreciate your continued feedback and support.

This will come as a disappointment to fans of the series who may have been hoping to pick up the game on PC and carry on from where they left off on the Nintendo Switch. Capcom hasn’t ruled out cross-save just yet. It’s unclear whether cross-save for the game on PC will be added at a later point. It could still be a possibility, it’s just not their focus for now.

Capcom revealed the PC version of Monster Hunter Rise during their presentation at this year’s Tokyo Game Show and announced that it will provide players with several enhancements made possible by access to strong PC technology. The game, which is now available for pre-order, will have 4K support, HDR support, and an unlocked framerate.  A Monster Hunter Rise demo will be released through Steam on October 13th.

Monster Hunter Rise is currently available to purchase in our store on Nintendo Switch, and will be released on Steam on 12th January 2022. Or try another title from the series!

PC to be Capcom’s “main platform” in the years to come.

The home of your gaming classics like Street Fighter, Devil May Cry, Resident Evil and many more, plans to bring all focus onto PC. Company COO, Haruhiro Tsujimoto, talking with Japanese Publication Nikkei, states that popular firms, Monster Hunter and Resident Evil “will mainly focus on PC software” from that point on with hopes to advance PC sales to the point the platform outdoes others, making at least half of all sales by the end of the year.

With PC gaming growing rapidly over the years, it’s not seen as a surprise to many with various gaming companies taking this same approach. Still, for the people that enjoy the feel on gaming consoles, this doesn’t necessarily mean games will be discontinued or unavailable to play. But let’s just say gaming consoles are not as “poppin” as they were 5-10 years ago. One of the facts for that, being that during the pandemic, it is said that there has been an increase in Japanese PC usage and that the pandemic is “changing the way people look at PCs”.

With a mixed indication as to what is best for the company after having failed previous computer releases such as popular firm, Street Fighter (4) and many more. But having huge success with Monster Hunter. Monster Hunter: World particularly, with it being their single best-selling release ever, as leaked sales data revealed that it had sold over 5.7 million copies on Steam, comparing that to 5.5 million copies on PlayStation 4 and an extra 1.7 million on Xbox One, all as of September 30, 2020. This looks to be a risk but a risk that is worth taking as the world are seeming to favour PC software as their primary gaming platform.

What will this mean for gaming consoles? Well, with PC “driving global sales” and looking set to be the “main platform”, this means that more development will be put into PC releases with more games being released on and maybe exclusively on PC. This means there may be less efforts to cater towards the console fans and that you may see less new releases and further updates on some of your favourite titles. Nevertheless, this doesn’t mean that Capcom have completely stopped making games for the console audience. It is great to note that releases such as Street Fighter, a fighting game, has shown to be better off on console opposed to on PC which leads to the point that not every game or release will be prioritised on PC. So, console players, continue to look out for your favourite titles and for new releases as this doesn’t stop you from getting them.

Okami’s Amaterasu is coming to Monster Hunter Rise in this very special event

On July 30, Capcom will release its second cross-over event, titled Capcom Collab 2, for Monster Hunter Rise, and this time it features none other than Amaterasu from the popular action-adventure video game, Okami. 

Monster Hunter Rise is an action role-playing game developed and published by Capcom for the Nintendo Switch and was released worldwide in March this year. The Capcom Collab are events where players can grab armour and items based on other Capcom IPs. This is the second crossover event to have happened in the game; the previous event featured Palico Layered Armor from Monster Hunter Stories 2.

Amaterasu’s Armour in Monster Hunter Rise

Players won’t be able to hunt down Amaterasu like one would expect, instead, they will be able to play alongside Amaterasu with special Layered Armour for their Palamute.

They will need to take on a special event quest in order to obtain the “Ammy Costume”, but once they have it, it will give a visual change to your Palamute while still being able to draw their powers from the armour you craft for them.

The Ammy costume offers the signature cloud-like shoulders, flaming disc, and leaves behind a trail of flowers whenever you sprint.

The end of the trailer also gives an insight into when Capcom Collab 3,4, and 5 will drop, with the first being in August and the last two being sometime in Autumn.

The Okami Event is free for all Monster Hunter Rise players.

Monster Hunter is about to get its own 3D animated feature

Only a year after the last Monster Hunter adaptation, we are now being treated with another- that will also hopefully do and be better.

If you aren’t aware of the franchise, Monster Hunter, developed by Capcom, is a media franchise centred around a series of fantasy-themed action role-playing video games.

Monster Hunter: The Legends of the Guild

Netflix released the trailer for Monster Hunter: Legends of the Guild and announced it would be dropping on the platform on August 12.

The production was carried out by Pure Imagination Studios and is directed by visual effects specialist Steve Yamamoto.

The story follows a boy named Aiden (voiced by the one and only Dante Basco) who one day finds out his village is under threat from an Elder Dragon. He sets out on a journey alongside Julius (voiced by Brando Eaton), a first-rate hunter and member of the Hunter’s Guild, in hope of finding a way to save his village.

The post Monster Hunter Anime Movie Dropping on Netflix this August first appeared on Get2Gaming.

As the release date for Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin creeps closer (July 9), Capom released the full opening cutscene, just before the trial version goes live.

If you are unfamiliar with the game, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin is a turn-based RPG spin-off game based on the Monster Hunter franchise, started in 2004, for those who are looking for more traditional and lighthearted gameplay. Perfect for those wanting to get into the franchise, but are not sure where to start. While most games featured in the Monster Hunter franchise focus on the Hunters, the Stories series focuses on the Riders; people who bond through their monsters through kinship and look at the relationship between humans and monsters specifically.

The franchise has sold over 72 million units worldwide (as of March 2021) and is Capom’s second best-selling series after Resident Evil.

The cutscene itself starts off with a ritual of the tribe the player characters originate from, complete with singing and ceremonial dancing. It then shows the female lead, Ena, finding an old Rathalos, who gives her an egg that later hatches and becomes the player’s Rathalos companion in the game.

The cutscene sets up the game’s fundamental story, yet keeps enough hidden to entice the viewers into playing it or at least want to test out the trial version, that drops June 25. It is free, and will even transfer the saved game data if trial users end up wanting to buy the game.
