Sony confirm three new colours for the PlayStation 5 console will release starting next month!

The PlayStation 5’s outlandish design caught the eye of many when it released in November 2020 but a lot of the player base who were lucky enough to get their hands on the ultra rare machine wanted more choice with the colour of the console. In January, they dropped Midnight Black and Cosmic Red with the new three colours finally on the horizon. PS5 owners can swap the face plates themselves to give it a new fresh look.

Alongside Midnight Black and Cosmic Red, the three new colours are Nova Pink, Starlight Blue and Galactic Purple. The revolutionary DualSense controller is also getting a makeover matching the colours that the PlayStation console is getting. But unlike the console the new coloured controllers will reportedly come with improved parts to prevent stick drift and users can check a code on the back of the controller to verify that it has the new parts.

Sony is yet to reveal special edition custom designed PlayStation 5 consoles whereas the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro over their lifespan had uniquely designed consoles around the flagship games of the time such as Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, God of War and Marvel’s Spider-Man. But with options for PlayStation 5 owners starting to become more vast their is an increasing worry that the shape and design of said console could change over the next 18 months like the PS4 and PS4 Pro having multiple design changes over the 7 predominant years of it’s life. Some gamers do want to see a change in console design as it’s novel, impractical and rather large design in comparison to it’s main competitor the Xbox Series X, fans want to see a slimmer more sleek design to appear in the future. Controversy has been lingering over the choice of colours as when the PlayStation 5 console was released many fans were begging for third party accessory makers including Dbrand to provide black face plates to replace the white ones. Sony are known for not working well with others as they sent a cease and desist to Dbrand forcing them to stop selling them immediately aggravating many fans, it’s taken them 18 months after release of the console for them to finally move into the market of giving us a choice of colours.

 Naugtydogs upcoming remaster (barely, the Ps4 versions look perfect and there hasnt been much dont but whatever) of the 4th and 5th uncharted games will let players transfer over their saves and trophy progress. As revealed by the official playstation twitter account, save date and trophy progress from uncharted 4: a thief’s end and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy can be carried over from ps4 to ps5

There is currently no word on the PC versions Save integration, as that version of the collection is still only set for a 2022 window of release.

The transfer can be done via cloud save integration with a players profile, with them needing to own the original ps4 collection and the remaster on the same account. Owning the Ps4 version and and getting the ps5 version will cost as little as £10, slough ps4 disk owners with a digital ps5 will not be able to get the upgrade. Players with the following versions are eligible for the upgrade:

• Uncharted 4 on PS4
• Uncharted: the Lost Legacy (Physical or digital)
• Uncharted 4 and Lost Legacy Digital bundle

PLaystation Plus subscribers who own either game through the service are out of luck, buy the way. You need to buy the whole game for ps5 to play it.

The post Uncharted legacy of thieves can transfer saves first appeared on Get2Gaming.

In addition, the Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection won’t include online multiplayer options despite Uncharted 4 on it’s own actually having that!

Which is a crying shame because even the Lost Legacy Collection and Uncharted 4 let players use online features where they existed in the past games. But alas, the ESRB folks have listed the Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection as having “no interactive elements”. Okay, just yeet all pretense of gameplay out the window why don’t ya? I wouldn’t be surprised if the collection ended up being a pre-recorded playthrough that only lets players chip in for Quicktime Event prompts!

Sony (or Naughty Dog) baby, honey-dearest muffin-top, we NEED to talk about branding! Case and point, restricting certain features of your game on PC may encourage those people to buy a console, but don’t expect to win any popularity awards with that consumer group. And besides PS4 backwards compatibility and a couple extra knickknacks on PS+, this isn’t exactly a glowing endorsement for the PS5 either if this happens with other game collections.

Naughty Dog recently released stats on Uncharted 4 to celebrate it’s fifth anniversary in May, revealing its player base of 37 million players, including 13.3 million multiplayer users.

Sony has said that Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves will be released for PS5 in early 2022, while the PC version, which is being developed by Iron Galaxy, will arrive “shortly after” that.

The Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection is also set to release next year, giving whichever developer or CEO who ticked off on this feature removal plenty of time to potentially double-back on that. As you properly have heard, Sony have finally released the excellent news of the PS4 Pro. The new console is going to take gaming to another level. Not only just with gameplay but with visuals and scenery. Making games look more realistic than ever.

This is extra exciting news for publishers and developers as now they can put all the new technology available for these companies to make their games extra special.

When I played Uncharted 4: A Thief’s end this year, I even thought the game was way ahead of its time. However, now seeing what the Playstation 4 Pro can achieve developers such as Naughty Dog are going to take full advantage and take over the gaming market.

Al Hastings, chief architect at Insomniac Games, during an interview at Sony’s presentation had this to say:

“Four our Spider-Man project we’re really working as hard as we can to build a really rich, detailed version of New York City and the amount of detail and improved fidelity you can get on a 4K display – especially a 4K display that has HDR – is pretty stunning,” “It’s a real step forward. That’s what we’re most excited about.”

Christian Gyrling, Naughty Dog lead programmer was very quick to agree with this statement.

Gyrling also had this to say:

“Yeah, my personal versus company feel HDR is really the future for me and for the studio,” “We’re really excited to allow our artists to make use of these colours.”

The upcoming Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End lost eight months of work when writer, Amy Hennig, left Naughty Dog. 

When speaking at Metrocon, voice actor Nolan North indicated that the project was reworked when Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley took over. North said they “shot eight months of her story and it was all thrown away.” Nolan also added, “Amy is still a very dear friend of mine and she’s brilliant. But the Last of Us guys were the next team there, so they took over and they just wanted their own flavour. They got rid of some of the other people that were involved and just redid their thing.”

When talking about the game itself, Nolan believes Uncharted 4 will be “fun” and that the story is “going to be along the same lines.”

PlayStation executive Andrew House confirmed the new game in the hit series will arrive before April 2016.

DELAYED – Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

One of the most eagerly awaited games of 2015 has been delayed, by Sony, until Spring 2016… Nooooooo!!

This news has deeply distressed me, and it has probably distressed you all too?! For one of the most anticipated games of 2015, Sony has announced the delay of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End to Spring 2016. The two directors who’re heading project, Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley of Naughty Dog, have said that they felt the delay necessary so that the game completely lives up to the expectations of it’s fans.

“Since we showed you our first gameplay reveal of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, more of the game and story have come together, and it’s become clear to us that this game is much more ambitious than we originally envisioned,” which came from Druckmann and Straley in a prepared statement. “After spending so many years with Nathan Drake, he means a lot to the team, and telling the climactic chapter of his adventures is a task we don’t take lightly–this game deserves every bit of the attention to detail, precise pacing, and nuanced storytelling Naughty Dog is known for.”

“So we’ve made the difficult choice of pushing the game’s release date. Giving us a few extra months will make certain that Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End not only meets the team’s high standards but the high standards that gamers have come to expect from a Naughty Dog title.”, the two directors concluded.

Uncharted 4 was set to release this year (2015) at some point, but a release date was not yet decided. There was bound to be frustration in fans coming to accept this, but Straley said that they understood – “Thank you for your patience–we know the extra wait will be excruciating, but you’ll see it will be worth it as we reveal more about Uncharted 4 over the next year,”. “The team at Naughty Dog will be heads down working through 2015 making sure that Nathan Drake’s story gets the closure it deserves. Come spring 2016, you and Nate are in for one thrilling, emotional ride.”

‘The Last of Us’ Movie

It is still faithful to the game, but has some “pretty big changes”…

The upcoming feature film based on Naughty Dog’s post-apocalyptic action game The Last of Us won’t follow the 2013 title’s story exactly, but it will capture its overall tone, according to Neil Druckmann. He directed the world renowned game and is working with Sony to write the upcoming movie too. In an interview with Game Informer, Druckmann said,  “There are some big changes, but the tone and what the story’s trying to say is pretty faithful to the game.”, which is what he replied when being asked how faithful the film will stay to the game.

Druckmann said that the script is coming along “really well” and has noted that he’s already finished the second draft. He went on to say that he and the production team have already had a table read with “a bunch of actors”, but he did not disclose if Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones) was one of them. She is, however, reportedly a frontrunner for the role of Ellie. There is no news on the role of Joel though, or any of the other characters. No director has been announced, though Spider-Man veteran Sam Raimi is confirmed to be producing it.

“When I’m in the office, it’s all Uncharted 4 all the time,” he said. “When I should be sleeping, it’s the Uncharted movie.” The interviewer then corrected him. “Yeah, sorry, The Last of Us movie.” – This was Druckmann in response to the fact that he’s co-directing the upcoming PS4 game, ‘Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End’, as well as writing the script for ‘The Last of Us’ movie. His response suggests that he clearly hasn’t been getting much sleep lately. Poor chap!

The Last of Us was released in June 2013 for PlayStation 3, while a Remastered version of the game later arrived for PS4. The game tells a post-apocalyptic story of a man (Joel) and a young women (Ellie) who are fighting to survive against humans and other deadly creatures.

Top Ten 2015

My personal favourites in the gaming world which are to be released this year!

I think we can all agree when I say that this year is going to be seeing some pretty awesome releases, from what I’ve seen, and I’ve picked a personal “top ten” for you to feast your peepers on! So.. Let’s get cracking shall we?!..

10. 

At No.10 we have ‘Hellblade’. The story is based on Celtic myth. The trailer is focused on Senua, Hellblade’s protagonist, as she embarks on a very personal journey through a hellish underworld. Ninja-class combat, strong character stories, and a unique art vision will be taken to the next level in this game, which is developed by Ninja Theory. The release date has not yet been confirmed, but just by looking at Senua and her attire, you just know that it’s going to be a good one!

9. 

In at No.9 we see the next instalment to the Halo franchise, ‘Halo 5: Guardians’. Peace is shattered when colony worlds are unexpectedly attacked. And when humanity’s greatest hero goes missing, Spartan Locke is tasked with hunting down the Master Chief and solving a mystery that threatens the entire galaxy. What’s not to like from the plot of this infamous first-person shooter?! A release date is yet to be confirmed for this year, on Xbox One, but it’s worth the wait!

8. 

Next we have ‘Raven’s Cry’, which will be released throughout this month on Windows, Xbox 360, PS3 & PS4. A dark action-adventure role-playing video game that interweaves fictional events and characters with historical ones from the 17th century Caribbean. This game is said to feature ruthless pirates and historically accurate architecture whilst following the story of Christopher Raven, who sets off on the road to vengeance to find the scoundrels who murdered his family, a journey that might see him lose his soul too. A good old fashioned pirate quest!

7. 

Moving in at No. 7 is ‘Star Wars: Battlefront’, which is the third main entry in the Battlefront series and due to release this holiday on Windows, Xbox One and PS4. DICE did not brand the new game as a sequel to Battlefront II, but a reboot to the franchise. The game will also include the moon Endor and the planet Hoth as playable maps. The game will also be tying in with the release of the film ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’. Well, two for the price of one here!

6. 

In at old No.6 is ‘Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End’, which will be available to play on the PS4. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this franchise, ever since it begun, and it’s never failed to get the old ticker beating! A release date is yet to be confirmed but it’s another that’s worth the wait. Drake is now a retired fortune hunter who will embark on a globe-trotting journey in pursuit of a historical conspiracy behind a fabled pirate treasure. Naughty Dog has said that this will be Drake’s “greatest adventure yet and will test his physical limits, his resolve, and ultimately what he’s willing to sacrifice to save the ones he loves.”

Halfway there! At No. 5 we have ‘Life is Strange’, which consists of 5 episodes. The first is set to be released on 30th January on Windows, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3 & PS4, with six weeks in between each episode. After many years of being away from her hometown, senior photography student Maxine Caulfield returns to Arcadia Bay, Oregon. She reunites with her estranged best friend Chloe Price, and discovers that Chloe’s father had died the year Maxine left town. Since then Chloe has lived with an irreparable sorrow. She found support in a girl named Rachel Amber. But then Rachel went missing under suspicious circumstances. Max and Chloe decide to jointly investigate Rachel’s disappearance, and thus make their way to unravel the city’s hidden secrets. Very Heavy Rain/Twin Peaks!

4. 

Gliding in at No.4 (literally) is ‘Batman: Arkham Knight’, which is to be released in June on the PS4 & Xbox One. I bet you thought this’d be No. 1, didn’t you?.. As much as I love dear old Bats, he didn’t quite make it. My apologies! The game’s main storyline is set one year after the events of 2011’s Batman: Arkham City and follows Batman, at the peak of his ability, as he confronts the Scarecrow, who has returned to Gotham City to unite Batman’s enemies in a plot to finally kill the Dark Knight. Guess what else is introduced?.. THE BATMOBILE!! As a drivable vehicle! Oh it’s all too exciting..

3. 

Nearly, nearly there! In at No.3 is ‘Bloodborne’, which is coming to the PS4 in March. The game takes place in the gothic, ruined city of Y’harnam which is rumoured to house a potent medical remedy. The player takes the role as one of the travellers and must navigate the streets of Yharnam and overcome its violently deranged inhabitants and horrifying monsters in order to survive. Well.. That’s right up my street and look at those weapons! Gothic and gory; two of my favourite words.

2. 

Almost had the top spot but not quite, it’s ‘Assassin’s Creed: Victory’. The game is set to be released late this year but a date is yet to be decided. We don’t know much about the upcoming addition to the franchise except that a few photos were leaked last month, which reveals a brand new assassin and appears to be set during the Victorian era in London (hooray!). One of the leaked photo sequences also reveals a grappling hook item which, according to Kotaku, allows the character to attach to pretty much any surface around and escape or close in on a target with immense speed. Well, I guess it’s goodbye Napoleon and hello Jack the Ripper!

It’s finally here and I’m sure you’ve seen me prattling on about this left, right and centre, but it’s my No.1.. ‘The Order: 1886’. This is set to be out on 20th February on the PS4. The game is set in an alternate history London, where an old order of knights keep all of the world safe from half breed monsters, who are a combination of animal and man. In the game, you are a knight, a member of an ancient order, and you will take centre stage in this fight for mankind’s survival. As the game takes place in an alternate history, you will be able to interact with real-world historical characters who will aid you in your quest. You will see and navigate real places. You will not only be a witness, but have a hand in real events that have unfolded. Being a huge, huge fan of Steampunk, this had to be my No. 1, and just look at the weaponry!!

So there we have it. My top ten releases for 2015! I hope it has given you an insight of sorts and has encouraged you to purchase ALL OF THE GAMES YOU SEE HERE!!

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
Troy Baker to voice Drake’s older brother

Troy Baker is best known for his voice acting in ‘Bioshock Infinite’ and ‘The Last of Us’, and will now be voicing Drake’s older brother in ‘Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End’.

Troy Baker confirmed this exciting news via his official Twitter account. “‘Good to see you’re alive, little brother'” Baker said, referring to his line that appeared in the first game-play trailer Sony revealed at it’s PlayStation Experience event this weekend just gone. “Yes, that was me. Damn proud.”

Baker’s role in the project means that two of the industry’s most prolific voice actors will work together closely, as Nolan North is reprising his role as Nathan Drake.

Uncharted 4 is set to launch next year. We can’t wait!!
