What a coincidence the almighty algorithm gives me this Dying Light 2 tidbit when I was listening back to old Jeremy Jahns Star Wars reviews earlier today!

Not only is this Techland easter egg an easter egg, but it’s an easter egg INSIDE of another easter egg! A Russian Nesting Doll of easter egg-ception! There’s a secret Doom level in Dying Light 2 and players can receive a special new skill by completing it, which ties into the main subject of today’s blog.

But, Stefan, how do I get it? Well, if you can’t find a copy at a local store, you can- No, how do I find the Doom level? I wanna rip n’ tear! Aaah, well sit on my knee and I’ll spill you some tea.

First off, you gotta find 5 black rubber duckies scattered throughout the map. What is the function of them? Sources remain divided. You then have to complete the quest ‘Broadcast’, then you’ll be able to enter a previously locked room once you have the ducks and BOOM, now you get to enter The Fun Zone!

A few moments later, you offer up your dark ducky offerings to a nearby pedestal, complete a challenge that sees you try to get 5 objects within a time limit while fighting zomboners with the Ka Doom Shotgun and there ya go! A shiny new blueprint that gives players the ability to go full Darth Vader on a fool and choke them like a leather-daddy on prom night.

It won’t do a huge amount of damage on it’s own, but works well for stunning enemies and even being more susceptible to damage with follow-up attacks.

The Left Finger of GloVa: Fingerbang your enemies, shoot your shot. Inside, if possible.

Cyberhands 2177: Mantis blades belonging to a certain ‘punk’, though I could’ve sworn the date was off by… Maybe a century.

“It’s me… Marian” sneakers: Triple jump your way across the land with hardcore parkour skills strong enough to make a certain moustachio’d Nintendo mascot blush!

Finally, the highly anticipated launch of Call of Duty: Vanguard happens on Friday. The much loved Zombies mode will be playable in-game at launch, but it has been revealed that we should not expect to see the Dark Aether questline continue until later on. Instead, additional Zombies content will be released during the first season of the game, with the main mission arriving later. More precisely, it appears like the Main Quest will not begin until after Vanguard’s Season One, which kicks off on December 2^nd.

Zombies Main Questline Coming Later

In a recent blog post outlining all of the new features and what to expect in Zombies mode, Treyarch states “Starting on December 2nd, new Zombies content & features will begin to roll out in Vanguard.” They then went on to say “Players will also encounter some other surprise elements later in Season One that will set the stage for our upcoming Main Quest.”

There are a few crucial lines here that appear to imply the Main Quest won’t be available in-game until after Season One: “…later in Season One that will set the setting for our upcoming Main Quest” and “This Main Quest will be related to the arrival of an unexpected ally after Season One.” If this is the true, the Main Quest may not be available in Vanguard’s Zombies until late December or early 2022.

Previous Call of Duty seasons lasted around two months overall, and if Season One begins on December 2, it will expire somewhere in February of next year. For the time being, only time will tell. While you might not be  able to continue the ongoing Dark Aether storyline in Vanguard when it debuts on November 5, the traditional wave-based Zombies mode will be available from launch. The post CoD: Vanguard Zombies Won’t Feature ‘Dark Aether’ Quest Yet first appeared on Get2Gaming.

Surviving the Aftermath is an upcoming zombie game by Paradox Interactive and Finnish developers at Iceflake Studios (presumably named because “Snowflake Studios” would be too politically charged for Tumblr liberals who would take it as a microaggression against Antarctica). Have a butcher’s at the game’s release date trailer here. The game will be leaving Early Access (and by extension, fully released as a purchasable game) on November 16th, so get in there while you still can!

Side note: Speaking of Aftermaths, World War Z is also releasing an Aftermath update, the launch trailer for that featuring a creepily designed space-suit looking zombie inhaling questionably noxious fumes from some inconceivable tubular system. If you want to have a go at it, get it yourself at our store here and have a butcher’s for anything else you’re looking for.

Surviving the Aftermath is a post-apocalyptic city-builder, which is hilariously ironic considering the whole point of a post-apocalypse is that there wouldn’t be one if it was that easy to rebuild, but I’m assuming it’s going in a Walking Dead direction of “build up your own fort and society to defend against The Horde TM”. As the release of the game is marketed as a ‘1.0 version’, this suggests we’ll be seeing regular (likely free) updates and improvements, like with Fortnite or Apex Legends.

Players are put in charge of a settlement and have to direct different characters to perform different actions like scouting for supplies and reducing threats. Besides fighting off zombies and mutated monsters, you also have to go toe to toe with raiders, radiation poisoning and balancing out food and water production. All interesting, but if you want a game that really pushes the limits as an artistic exploration of what it’s like to struggle with hunger and food shortages, DO NOT! I repeat do NOT play Pathologic… Hbomberguy’s video on the other hand– Also, let’s just say it has some… Ironically accurate claims that ended up being applicable to lockdown despite coming out months before it.

Okay, no more tangents starting now… If I can help it:

Surviving the Aftermath was revealed at Paradox Interactive’s PDXCON 2019 event and has since been in early access for 2 years. Those 2 years lead to alot of player feedback that was taken into consideration, as alluded to in the trailer. Some changes include the addition of things like vehicles, quests, outposts, and overhauling aspects of the skill tree categories like exploration, combat, technology and most importantly, ECONOMY. A zombie survival where you can seize the means of production? Sign me up!

The 1.0 “Endgame” update will greatly expand on Aftermath’s late game content with new settlements, storylines and a campaign against a new unknown threat. Given how much Call of Duty Vanguard has been showing up as a YouTube ad all over my feed, I’d bet my left bollock the hitherto unknown threat is N@zi Zomboners.

Surviving the Aftermath is available in early access and launches November 16th for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.

A game promotion involving animatronic zombie heads mounted on a street corner pranks Londoners.

Call of Duty: Vanguard releases November 5, bringing the next instalment in the franchise’s iconic Zombies multiplayer mode. Though the release is a bit late for Halloween, that hasn’t stopped Activision from having some fun with the promotions.

Activision decorated a street corner in London with a row of zombie heads to commemorate the game’s release. These animatronic heads spring to terrifying life at the perfect time to startle any curious pedestrians who dared to get close.

A video was posted to the Call of Duty YouTube account, showing the prank in detail. It gives us a good look at the 5 unique (and rather horrifyingly detailed) heads. One of the 5 spits variously coloured fluids at onlookers. Activision naturally set up a camera to capture the reactions of people who stumble into its prank.

The video shows several people falling victim to the prank. Some were trying to take selfies with the head, only to startle when the heads suddenly came to life. One man got sprayed in the face with saliva when trying to take a close up photo, and another got fake blood spattered on his white shirt. However, I sympathise most with the guy walking past with food when the spitting zombie decided to try and ruin his meal.

Call of Duty: Vanguard returns the series to World War 2 after three games exploring other settings. The primary campaign of vanguard will follow four different characters, including an American fighter pilot, a British-Cameroon paratrooper, a Soviet sniper, and an Australian infantryman. Together, they form a joint special-operations unit called Task Force One.

Meanwhile, the Zombies mode resumes the ongoing story from Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 that continued through Black Ops 4 and Cold War. Vanguard’s Zombies mode picks up where the story in Cold War’s Zombie mode left off. The activation of several supernatural artefacts has allowed powerful extradimensional entities to enter the world. Kortifex the Deathless makes a bargain with SS Oberfuhrer Wolfram Von List, granting him the power to raise the dead.

The aim of zombies is to take Kortifex down.

Zombies has become an iconic game mode for the Call of Duty franchise, being introduced way back in CoD: World At War. While Vanguard has circled back to its roots in historical warfare, the new Zombies mode has done just the opposite and switched up the formula. Call of Duty: Vanguard Zombies will undoubtedly be intriguing, since it represents a significant departure from the mode’s typical approach.

Der Anfang, the game’s first map, will not be the usual round-based Survival map we are used to. Instead, it will be like Outbreak in that there will be objectives to fulfil in different zones, but without the vehicles and large-scale emphasis. However, this is not the only new feature being added.

What Is the Altar of Covenants in Zombies?

In addition to cosmetic redesigns for perks in Call of Duty: Vanguard, players will be able to get unique bonuses via a new system. The boosts will be placed on top of the perks that players may purchase in each round. The concept also works like upgrades in a roguelike, with each match introducing new improvements and ensuring a diverse range of builds. This might offer a lot of replayability to Der Anfang, making each match more varied and engaging.

These upgrades are controlled through the Alter of Covenants. This is a special upgrade station that will be unlocked halfway through a round of Der Anfang. After completing each mission, players will return to the Stalingrad central area, which has grown. Each new location will enable players to a

cquire additional Zombies perks and upgrades, with the Altar being one of the newly unlocked parts. Players will require a specific currency to engage with it.

The game introduces a new currency to purchase these upgrades. Upgrades for the Altar of Covenants are acquired using Sacrificial Hearts, a currency earned by completing objectives. After leaving Shi No Numa or Hotel Royal, players will have to visit this Altar to obtain a new upgrade. The sequence of these improvements will vary from game to game, and they will also vary when players return to the Altar after completing an objective.

This is a big step forward for Call of Duty Zombies. In previous Zombies maps, matches would feel quite the same as there would be an optimum set-up everyone would aim for.  You build the Wonder Weapon, purchase all the bonuses, and get all your upgrades. You would then begin training or camping in the same regions until you died or chose to quit.

However, with the Altar of Covenants, each match should seem unique. Players may end up with a build that allows them to camp exceptionally well, dictating how they should play the rest of the match. Another build may increase training while weakening camping, while a third could make someone a fantastic medic.

This method has a lot of promise, as it might push players to want “one more run” like with a roguelike game.

Upgrades That Have Been Revealed for Zombies from the Altar of Covenants

So far, players have just a vague sense of what upgrades will be available in Call of Duty: Vanguard Zombies. There are, however, a few that have been uncovered, and they appear to be useful. These modifications are as follows:

Ammo Gremlin: Stowed weapons refill ammo from the stock quickly. This is just like the Modifier from the Bandolier Bandit perk seen in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Zombies.

Brain Rot: Again, this works just like the ammo mod, with players turning undead enemies into allies.

Bloodlust: Melee attacks will do more damage with this buff, and they will also heal the player.

Cryofreeze: Just like the ammo mod from Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Zombies, this has a chance to freeze and slow enemies.

Dead Accurate: Hitting multiple shots on the same enemy will do more damage, something that could be great for handling the machine gun-wielding mini bosses.

Death Below: Critical kills return a bullet to the clip. This could essentially give players infinite ammo with Sniper Rifles.

Resurrectionist: This lets players auto revive allies by standing near them, and they will revive much quicker. This could be hugely beneficial in co-op play.

Splatterfest: Enemies killed by explosions have a chance to explode themselves, making an explosive chain.

While players have only seen eight upgrades thus far, the known items reveal a lot about how the system will work. For starters, it seems like Pack-A-Punch will not provide ammo mods, as these have been made into buffs at the Altar. If ammo mods are available, some entirely new ones would be needed. Further, the a rarity system is visible, with the one Legendary buff revealed thus far being the revive-focused Resurrectionist. It can be assumed that these items will appear at the Altar less often, so players will want to grab them when they do appear.

The most fascinating aspect of the Altar of Covenants is that it may be expanded with each new Call of Duty Season. This type of system works best when there is a wide range of boosts to pick from. With so many opportunities, Treyarch could expand the Altar constantly, giving players new upgrades to acquire and creating opportunities for even more varied matches. If several upgrades are added each Season, the Altar can end up with dozens of potential buffs by the end of the game’s lifespan. With so much potential, this system is easily one of the most promising things about Call of Duty: Vanguard’s take on Zombies.

Call of Duty: Vanguard Zombies mode trailer dropped October 14^th via YouTube showcasing interesting new additions from Treyarch. Fans seem to have noticed the return of original World at War Zombies map, Shi No Numa. Specifically pointing it out, Call of Duty Youtuber and Informant ModernWarzone posted a video on twitter showing proof of his sighting of the map. In the video, he shows frame by frame clips of the trailer. Pointing out the things that confirms it to be Shi No Numa.

With this later being confirmed by Activision fans are left excited. Shi No Numa being one of the monumental maps to drop with it being the third ever Zombies map changing the scene of Zombies as a whole.

Activision announced that Call of Duty: Vanguard is the “franchise-first crossover” stating that it is the “precursor to Black Ops Cold War Zombies.” Adding “This cooperative experience continues and intertwines with the Dark Aether story to create deeply engaging lore, all while innovating on the core gameplay that the mode is famous for.”

“From Stalingrad to Shi No Numa, you’ll fight Von List’s undead army on all fronts” with the trailer revealing many new abilities that have never been seen before on a Call of Duty: Zombies.

Zombies being developed by the original Treyarch opposed to Sledgehammer Games leaves the COD community very excited for what they have in store. Treyarch being original developers of the Call of Duty series, being in partnership since 2005 with the release of Call of Duty 2: Big Red One. Treyarch are heavily credited for the development of Zombies mode in the Black Ops series, especially Black Ops, Black Ops 2 and Black Ops 3 with the Zombies being a standout game mode on those games.

Call of Duty: Vanguard is set to be released November 5^th with many fans excited all over the world. Many being interested in the Campaign mode which has been developed by Sledgehammer Games, which features an interesting storyline during World War II. Many Call of Duty players being interested in the Multiplayer game mode which has added new game modes and has always been the go-to for the COD community. But with the new Zombies trailer being unveiled, it has grasped many fans interest. We look forward to seeing how far the Zombies game mode will excel; with the addition of the classic map, Shi No Numa, many of the community believes Zombies could top all game modes in next month’s release.

The undead rises once more! Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is set to release its long awaited Season 6 package, potentially making it the last content we see from the game before the hotly anticipated release of the franchise’s 2021 title Call of Duty: Vanguard. 

Fans of Cold War will be happy to know that the game is looking to end on a high, specifically with their Zombies content. Launching the latest season today , there’s no time to waste- so let’s dive right into it!

New Cold War Map and Wonder Weapon

A new map always brings excitement to the Call of Duty Zombies fan base, and this one doesn’t look set to disappoint. Titled “Forsaken”, the round-based survival map will look to conclude the first chapter of the Dark Aether story. Where will this finale take place I hear you say? Well none other than a secret test site in Ukraine. Very spooky.

“As Omega attempts to lure The Forsaken into this dimension – believing they can capture its power to weaponize against the West – Requiem plans on extracting Kazimir Zykov from the Dark Aether to prevent The Forsaken from entering our world” reads a description from game developers Treyarch’s website.

Season 6 will also present players with an eccentric new Wonder Weapon called the Chrysalax. The weapon will serve as both a multi-kill axe called the Chrysalax Savager and a rapid-fire Dark Aether energy weapon named the Chrysalax Storm.

“The Aetherial axe can kill multiple zombies in a single swipe and launch a spinning energy blade into the air. By shifting the hilt into a front grip, the Wonder Weapon transforms into the Chrysalax Storm, a rapid-fire Dark Aether energy weapon”.

The new multi-function weapon will become available through its own in-game quest, as a potential reward in Trials, or as a lucky roll at the Mystery Box.

This’ll give players the opportunity to express all their innovative ways of slaughtering the zombies in their path. What could be better?

New Cold War Support Weapons And Fan-Favourite Perk

The season 6 content doesn’t just stop with a new map and wonder weapon, but it also adds a pair of new support Weapons: the Hand Cannon and ARC-XD.

“Pick up the Hand Cannon at the Crafting Table when you want to deal massive damage to Special or Elite enemies at their weak points, or if you’re looking to clear an area with as few shots as possible”.

“If you’ve got the need for speed, the ARC-XD takes out zombies as you drive past them with a pulse attack from its attached Aetherium Crystal, and its explosion on impact is more than enough to clear a room”.

Players will need to utilise these weapons to perfection if they intend to stay alive in this new zombie-ridden environment. In addition to this, Call of Duty: Black Op Cold War will include its tenth Zombies perk which will be a revolutionised version of the fan-favorite PhD Slider.

“Long-time fans will be familiar with PhD’s base ability and some of its crucial upgrades, including immunity to explosive damage from your own weapons”.

Treyarch acknowledge that the PhD’s true potential will only become available when the player has activated all five tiers, which  will give you the abilities described below:

• Base ability – Sliding into enemies triggers an explosion. The size and damage increase the farther you slide before impact.
• Skill Tier I – Immunity to environmental damage while sliding.
• Skill Tier II – Increased slide duration.
• Skill Tier III – Immunity to self-inflicted explosive damage.
• Skill Tier IV – Increased slide speed.
• Skill Tier V – Falling from a large height will trigger an explosion. The size and damage increase the higher you fall.

The post Black Ops Cold War Unveils Season 6 Zombie Content: Here’s Everything You Need To Know first appeared on Get2Gaming.

Another disappointment for Dying Light fans, the second instalment in the franchise has hit another snag and is now set to be released on 4th February 2022, pushed back from a 7th December 2021 unveiling. Initially, the title was set to release in Spring 2020 but has seen multiple delays. It could be another impact from the continuation of the pandemic and the difficulty of staff filling buildings safely.

2015’s Dying Light was set in a post-apocalyptic world where zombies were beginning to take over, and travelling at night was not an option as they become restless, with more variations of the terrors waking up for you to run from or fight. The movement system was fluid and extremely fun to traverse the high rooftops using the grappling hook, and other techniques learnt along the way to free roam however you liked. The second seems similar from the gameplay trailer which you can check out below but is set in the future when “civilisation has fallen back into the dark ages”.

The news was announced via a public statement through Twitter from Techland CEO Pawel Marchewka. In this, the reasoning behind the delay is straightforward and sincere to eager fans of the game. If Dying Light 2: Stay Human has the qualities of the original Dying Light, it’ll be something that’ll be worth the wait for.

Marchewka explains,

“It has always been our company’s goal to build transparent and honest communication with our community, fans and gamers.”

As a result, the company has notified its fans early each time there has been a delay and clearly don’t want to release an unfinished game.

The CEO continued,

“Dying Light 2 Stay Human is by far the biggest and the most ambitious project we’ve ever done. But, unfortunately, we’ve realised for us to bring the game to the level we envision, we need more time to polish and optimise it.”

The need to “polish and optimise it” should not be seen as a negative for the game’s release but a sign that the development team cares about their work to please the fan base. After such a long time in development, originally being showcased at E3 in 2019, two more months of waiting is not so long.

Hopefully, the game will be playable on the 4th February 2022 on PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S and, similarly to the original, can be played co-operatively online.

The video featured something weird as Daryl Dixon’s motorcycle is being ridden but not by Daryl Dixon himself. This could be worrying for Dixon’s fans as the person who is riding the zombie slayers bike is also wearing Daryl’s trademark vest.

Sony’s Screen Gems have released the first poster and photo from Resident Evil: The Final Chapter.

Milla Jovovich who plays the star of the film Alice tweeted the poster via her twitter account. The poster is featuring Alice who she plays in the film.

According to synopsis, Alice “is the only survivor of what was meant to be humanity’s final stand against the undead.
