If you’re familiar with our blogs, you should know by now that Xbox are celebrating the brands 20th anniversary this year. The publisher have already done a lot to celebrate the occasion by treating fans with bundles full of Xbox goodies. Moreover, it hasn’t just been Xbox celebrating their own success either. Sony reached out to send a congratulatory message too, whilst we’re still waiting on the same good will from Nintendo (perhaps they’re still hurt over Microsoft insulting their hardware twenty years ago).

However, it is the introduction of the virtual Xbox museum which has got fans most excited. The digital Xbox museum has given players the opportunity to take a glance at everything Xbox have done leading up to the release of the Xbox Series X/S. From the original Xbox, to the Xbox 360, to the Halo franchise it’s been a real honour to delve into the companys past. Whilst we have covered this before, there is another cool feature which we failed to mention.

This is the fact that the museum also provides users the chance to look back at their own personal history too. Before we delve into that, here’s a link to the Xbox event that was streamed ten days ago. Have a watch of this if you’re yet to own the Xbox Series X/S, so you can discover the brands history yourself.

How To See Your Most Played Xbox Games

They’re are six digital museum exhibits which you can explore in the museum. Whilst each one is worth exploring individually for any Xbox fan, it is the area which focuses on the personal achievements which we find the best. In this exhibit, it showcases how many games you’ve played, how much Gamerscore you’ve earned each year on a particular console and your top five most played games. Pretty cool, right?

We certainly think so. Highlighting each user’s individual history alongside Xbox’s own history makes us realise how we’ve grown with them. For those who have been around since the original Xbox, it can in fact be quite emotional. Seeing the company grow into what it has become today is quite the spectacle indeed. But then seeing your own gaming transition on top of that will undoubtedly have the nostalgia flurrying through.

Comparatively, Xbox is younger than both its rivals Sony and Nintendo. On the other hand, it’s influence in gaming history has shown the company to be mature beyond its years. This is showcased through words of former SEGA president, Peter Moore.

“The Dreamcast was ahead of its time and it sadly didn’t quite make it in the face of the impending PlayStation FUDing — fear, uncertainty and doubt that came along — and they did it brilliantly” Peter explained. “But as the Dreamcast unfortunately faded into the sunset, the baton was passed to Xbox. We started to collaborate… and we started to bring content to the Xbox.”

This is only one example of how Xbox has revolutionised gaming throughout the last twenty years. Let’s hope the next twenty are just as good. To celebrate, we highly recommend picking up this awesome Xbox headset right here.
