Elden Ring is not far away now, and George R.R. Martin, renowned author who has written the game’s story and world lore, has recently shared his thoughts on Elden Ring despite saying he’s not massively into video games. The offer to write for Elden Ring however was something he could not refuse, as the offer was ‘’ too exciting’’. He wrote this recently in his blog post.
George R.R. Martin’s Thoughts on Elden Ring
Elden Ring is set in the Lands Between, a universe built in partnership with Game of Thrones author George R. R. Martin, who was collaborating to help build the game’s storey and lore.
George R.R. Martin says that he “love(s) creating worlds and writing imaginary history,” and Miyazaki’s games are always set in worlds with deep lore.
He claims that ‘Miyazaki and his team from FromSoftware were doing ground-breaking stuff with gorgeous art, and what they wanted from me was just a bit of worldbuilding: a deep, dark, resonant world to serve as a foundation for the game’’
Martin finishes by saying that the time of the games release draws near and he says, “it looks incredible.” Which, it genuinely does. The open world looks vast and full of secrets, which knowing Miyazaki will have tons of story-pieces and lore items for those of you who like to find it. Elden Ring’s combat also looks incredible too, taking all the best mechanics of FromSoftware’s past games and blending them excellently.
Elden Ring was recently postponed by one month, to February 25th, 2022.
“The depth and strategic freedom of the game exceeded initial expectations,” publisher Bandai Namco said was the cause for the game’s delay.
