After sixteen years as a franchise, the Sega mainstay ‘Yakuza’ of the early 2000s has decided to drop its name in favour of returning to its original Japanese title of Ryu ga Gotoku or ‘Like a Dragon’.

For many, this may seem an arbitrary or bizarre change in an industry where brand recognition and loyalty are essential for continued sales. However, the reasons behind this change are much more nuanced and interesting than a simple decision to change a title. It bears mentioning from the outset that in Japan, Yakuza was always known as, and is still known as, the ‘Like a Dragon’ series ever since the first game in 2005. And although it centred around the Yakuza, that name was not tagged onto the franchise until the American release the following year. In the decade and a half that has passed since then, the series has evolved beyond its Japanese organised crime setting. Over in Japan, we were treated to historical drama games that have never seen the light of day in the west until now with the reveal of Like a Dragon: Isshin. 

Yakuza as a franchise has only majorly risen to prominence in the last few years through the influence of YouTube and meme culture finding the mix of over-the-top combat and at times hysterical side quests endearing. It set the stage for a positive reception when the seventh game in the series dropped back in 2020, with a full English dub cast not seen since the original. Even acting legends like George Takei of Star Trek fame lent his voice talent to the game showing that the series was coming out of the shadows of a niche cult classic to being seen as a well-loved franchise here in the west.

And it is with this love pairing with the ever-broadening appreciation in the west for Japanese and anime culture that the choice to make the name change back to ‘Like a Dragon’ lies for the latest game in the series.

The Yakuza name was a relic of the early 2000s western gaming industries’ belief that Japanese games had to be tweaked and localised to be appealing to a western audience. But now in 2022, the franchise recognition is based around the characters and style of the game regardless of if it involves the Yakuza or not. Both of the Judgment games take place in the world of Yakuza yet forgo the franchise title for western release to go on to critical acclaim. And now with the announcement of Like a Dragon: Isshin, games that the west was never able to officially play are finally making their way across the pacific for their audience to enjoy.

What does this mean for the future?

For many years, the Japanese gaming industry has been strangely closed off to the west for a lot of its more niche titles, based upon the idea that they won’t sell well in the west so it is better to keep them exclusive to Japan where they are guaranteed a profit. That has changed, no longer is Japanese games culture seen as a strange cult following that everyone would rather shirk in favour of playing the newest Call of Duty. It is an accepted part of western entertainment now, and Japanese companies like Sega are willing to take the chance in broadening the games they view as sellable to the west. Reverting to ‘Like a Dragon’ for western release is a sign that some parts of the Japanese games industry no longer seek to cloister their games behind the notion of ‘is this too Japanese for the west?’

Hopefully, more companies will take Sega’s example in bringing official releases to long-desired games moving forwards.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners: A Neon coloured miracle.

When you bring up the word Cyberpunk or Edgerunners in conversation in today’s day and age, you’re bound to conjure several images in people’s minds. Most would think of pictures of chromed-up bikers with monoband sunglasses and neon flooded streets. Those old enough to remember the original role-playing game will probably smile at fond memories of a rich world and characters. But say Cyberpunk to a gamer, and they would probably scowl, remembering the hype train around Cyberpunk 2077 derailing into a bug-filled crash on launch.

That is, until now. September saw the release of the anime “Cyberpunk: Edgerunners” on Netflix to critical acclaim from the anime community; Studio Trigger’s short ten-episode foray into the streets of Night City has served as a metaphorical adrenaline shot for what many saw as a slowly fading fandom. Without going into spoiler territory, the anime follows the path of David Martinez, a young Night City resident with a particular talent for enduring augmentation at a far higher threshold than most are capable of before being sent on an adventure within the setting.

That setting is perhaps the single most universally agreed upon masterstroke of CD Projekt Red’s 2020 RPG, a strong base that required time to correct that most would not give it. But correct and develop, they did, slowly but surely bringing 2077 up to the standard that lived up to the hype garnered during its fraught development cycle, even if by that point, most players had left the game for greener pastures. However, Edgerunners has changed that, using a combination of Studio Trigger’s expert writing and animation within the established world of 2077 to catch the attention of an audience on Netflix and, after showing them just how rich of a world Night City presents, sets them loose to play the game again.

With the addition of the Edgerunners update (patch 1.6), all augmentations, weapons and playstyles shown off by the characters in the anime can be emulated to perfection in-game, meaning that new and returning players alike can burn the city like their new favourite cyberpunks. And not only is it possible to rule the night as David or Rebecca, but it’s also optimal.

The Statistics

When you pair that with a deeply emotional and fast-paced show with high-quality acting from the likes of Giancarlo Esposito, it shows the audience what is possible within the setting and game, inspiring a colossal upswing in player count.

As shown in the above image, in August of 2022, the average player count for Cyberpunk 2077 was approximately 10,000 with a peak of 18,700, but with the release of Edgerunners, the average player count has more than doubled with the peak playerbase at a staggering 86,000 on Steam alone (Source: Steam Charts). As the show grows bigger, quickly becoming a classic, the word of mouth of Cyberpunk disseminated amongst well-known gaming personalities, bowling over those like the auteur Hideo Kojima by the show’s quality which bleeds over into the game itself:

What does this mean for Cyberpunk 2077 and its future? The playerbase is quickly returning or discovering the world is much better than when they left it and having much more fun with the game than was possible. With more updates like the Edgerunner update on the horizon, there is the incentive and proof that not only is 2077 worth sinking time into and will keep expanding in the coming months and years. It’s safe to say that Cyberpunk Edgerunners is a beacon of showing just how much story and setting content and quality the game can provide, dragging 2077 back from the edge of obscurity and into the neon-drenched light of a cult classic.

Fallout’s expansive world who’s players constantly change it

With Fallout 5 and the Elder scrolls 6 now confirmed and starfield on the way many people are returning to the last successful release from Bethesda, 2015’s Fallout 4. The game offers a lot to do but it is nearly 7 years old at this point, so why do so many people still play? mods. Many games now offer mods (mostly just for PC players) but the community for Fallout takes things to the next level, from simply changing in game items to DLC sized add-ons. At this point the game is what you make of it.

Fallout‘s wasteland is filled with all manner of strange creatures, from the peaceful radstag and brahmin to the incredibly hostile yao guai and deathclaws. The ‘Mutant menagerie: nuclear safari’ by Delicon20 ,as the name might suggest, adds a plethora of new  mutated creatures, enemies, bosses and crafting recipes to the Nuka world park.

A big part of Fallout 4 is custom base building (a feature in this game because of mods in Fallout 3 and new vegas), being able to make your own home to store loot and rest after travelling. however, you cannot build everywhere and do everything you could possibly want. There are a few solutions to this problem, such as the build settelments anywhere mod by which removes build limits meaning you can build as high or wide as you need. Another way to deal with this is the many MANY player home mods available, cosy or expansive bases available across the wasteland. The sanctuary bunker player home by Elinora adds a shelter beneath Nate/Nora’s old house at the start of the game, with a bed, plenty of storage and much more.

A massive draw to people returning to fallout 4 (or any Fallout title) is the massive, expansion sized mods that add completely new locations and quests. Fallout Miami will allow players to take a break and relax in post apocalyptic Florida, exploring exotic landscapes and encountering dangerous new creatures.

Meanwhile Fallout London does something completely new, setting a Fallout game outside of the United States entirely, combining the history and aesthetics of London and the unmistakable nuclear devastation of Fallout. Although these larger mods are yet to be released that has not stopped the community from drawing even more attention to the older game in the franchise. this goes to show that the Fallout series will not fade away and be forgotten. Even though Fallout 76 nearly did the exact opposite.

Pokemon cards have been around since 1996 and have always been a fairly popular collectible. However it’s safe to say that their popularity has made a massive resurgence in recent years. Collectors and scalpers have begun buying up as many packs as they can find. Whether it’s to build their decks or to sell off the cards at a higher price. Some stores even saw people lining up outside before open to buy up their stock of Pokemon cards. So why would McDonald’s be any different?

The Pokemon Cards of McDonald’s 2021

Pokemon already teamed up with McDonald’s last year in order to celebrate the franchise’s 25th anniversary. For the collaboration McDonald’s distributed Pokemon cards within their Happy Meals, a nice alternative to the usual plastic toy. There were 25 cards in the set being the 24 starter Pokemon, across all 8 generations of the franchise, and Pikachu. However each card also had a holographic version increasing the number total cards to 50.

This of course meant that there were some cards more rare and more valuable then others, which brought problems. Collectors and scalpers in the US immediately began buying as many Happy Meals as they could to get their hands on the cards. The demand created a shortage of cards to distribute in Happy Meals leaving many kids who just wanted a neat card with their McDonald’s left with nothing. Meanwhile scalpers were reselling the cards online to other Pokemon card collectors.

This issue got so bad that when the promotion later came to the UK they had to implement restrictions. McDonald’s restaurants were limiting the number of additional toys and cards customers could get to one per customer. This meant that people buying multiple Happy Meals to get the cards would not get a Pokemon card for every individual Happy Meal they ordered. This restrictions help to prevent the shortage issues.

McDonald’s Brings Pokemon Back for 2022

After the popularity of 2021’s Pokemon promotion is appears that McDonald’s have partnered with the franchise again for 2022. The promotion is being referred to as Match Battle and will feature new toys and cards in its Happy Meal. Customers and Pokemon fans will be able to get a pack of four Pokemon cards, a special Pokemon coins and Pokemon themed spinners with their Happy Meals. The Happy Meal box itself also now has a Pikachu designs complete with pop up ears.

McDonald’s are looking to avoid the issues that they had with last years promotion to make sure there is enough for everyone. McDonald’s restaurants everywhere will be implementing the same restrictions used by the UK branch during the 2021 promotion. Once again customers will not be able to receive more than one set of additional toys and cards by purchasing multiple Happy Meals. This will prevent people from buying many Happy Meals just for the toys reducing concerns about wasted food. It will help to stop the shortage issue from last year happening again.

The Cards Available In 2022

Of course the biggest question on every collector’s mind is what Pokemon cards are available this year? The 2022 Match Battle set is smaller that the previous 2021 set with only 15 unique cards. However once again every card also has a holographic version increasing the total to 30. The only two returning Pokemon from last year’s promotion are Pikachu and Rowlett who appear on new cards for the new set. Every other card features a Pokemon that was not present in last year’s promotion. The full list of new Pokemon is: Chinchou, Cutiefly, Growlithe, Flaaffy, Gossifleur, Victini, Tynamo, Lapras, Ledyba, Smeargle, Drampa, Pangoro and Bewear.

Of course with the return of holographic cards there are still some that are more valuable than others. Once again collectors and scalpers will most likely be trying to their hands on the more rare cards of the set. However, with the restriction in place there is no longer a concern about them buying out the whole stock. Overall 2022’s promotion is looking to be more enjoyable for the casual consumer and Pokemon fan than the previous year’s.

An Amazon listing recently went live revealing Dead Island 2’s new box art and a few game teasers – nearly 9 years after it was first unveiled!

If the long-delayed game’s PS4 listing on Amazon is to be believed, Dead Island 2 is set to release on 3 February 2023.

Dead Island 2 takes place across some of the most iconic locations in Los Angeles “now stained with horror, in an exciting pulp journey from the verdant suburbia of Beverly Hills to the quirky promenade of Venice Beach”.

Several screenshots of gameplay have also been made available, alongside a release trailer.

Dead Island 2 Trailer – E3 2014

The game starts in a quarantined LA, crawling with zombies after the spread of a deadly virus.

Dead Island 2 boasts that it has hundreds of LA-themed variants of zombie which “look and react realistically” and can be customised with their own mutations and attacks. Combat also delivers an intense and gory first-person experience, with plenty of weapons and tactical moves to battle the zombie takeover.

It has been confirmed that Dead Island 2 will have at least six playable characters – an increase from only four in the previous games in the series. Each character has their own unique personality and dialogue, with additional customisation options.

The Day 1 Edition includes “Memories of Banoi Pack – Banoi War Club”, “Memories of Banoi Baseball Bat”, “Weapon Perk – balanced” and “Personal space skill card”.

Dead Island 2 has already been confirmed as an Epic Store exclusive, and chances are that the PC version won’t come as a physical boxed copy.

Dead Island 2 will also be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Xbox Series / Xbox One.

Swedish company growing more and more

Embracer Group (formerly Nordic Games Licensing AB and THQ Nordic AB) has agreed to acquire even more companies and has announced plans to get more. In another series of acquisitions, Embracer Group has gained the rights to Middle Earth Enterprises as well as a range of other ips. This deal will give Embracer Group access to “a vast intellectual property catalogue and worldwide rights to motion pictures, video games, board games, merchandising, theme parks and stage productions relating to the iconic fantasy literary works The Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien”.

They are also launching its 11th operating group called Embracer freemode, which will focus more on retro, classic and heritage gaming but also ”iconic gaming and entertainment properties”. Already under the freemode name they have acquired Tatsujin, Bitwave Games and Gioteck.

These most recent acquisitions include

• Middle-earth Enterprises – owns the IP rights to The Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Hobbit
• Limited Run Games – collector-focused physical video game publisher
• Tuxedo Labs – Swedish studio specialising in tech-driven games
• Tripwire Interactive – US studio best known for Maneater, Killing Floor and Rising Storm
• Singtrix – vocal processing effect technology for karaoke, gaming and other equipment
• Tatsujin – Embracer’s first Japanese studio, founded by shoot ’em up studio Toaplan’s co-founder
• Bitwave Games – Swedish studio “with a passion for retro games”
• Gioteck – gaming accessory brand

(As well as another company within PC/Console gaming that is currently not disclosed for commercial reasons). Embracer group has stated that including further payments, these acquisitions cost roughly $787 million (£655.7 million). This comes just months after announcing plans to buy a large part of Square Enix’s western development arm for $300 million. This includes the ip rights for the Tomb raider and Deus ex series. Without a doubt, Embracer Group is slowly becoming one of the world largest game publishers and I for one cannot wait to see what they do next.

MultiVersus has had a rough time with leaks over the past year. Even the game’s existence was leaked in a Reddit post before it’s official announcement with a few incorrect details. Unfortunately for Player First Games, their work being leaked has only become a bigger problem with the open beta release. Data-miners love to dig every new build of the game to find developer secrets and the Season 1 build is no different. So what did they find and what future content does it hint at?

Character Voice Over

One of MultiVersus‘ big selling points is the game’s all star voice over cast providing the voice for the characters. Character’s have new and unique dialogue for the game including interactions and mid-fight banter with other characters. So it’s safe to assume that characters have a lot of line of dialogue in the game right? Well apparently this fact is true for unreleased and unrevealed characters too. Data-miners have found voiced dialogue for multiple unreleased characters tucked away in the game’s files. Not only did they find dialogue for all 4 currently unreleased characters (Morty, Rick, Stripe and Black Adam) but for unrevealed characters as well.

There are two characters that have new voiced dialogue added to the game with the Season 1 update. The first is Beetlejuice from the film of the same name and second is The Wicked Witch of the West from The Wizard of Oz. This is the first time voice work has been found for either character making this a completely new find. Both characters were previously speculated to be in the game however this dialogue serves as confirmation that they are at least planned to be in. This is further confirmed by many posts of these leaks online being taken down by Warner Bros. Games themselves.

More Voice Over for Older MultiVersus Leaks

Of course Beetlejuice and The Wicked Witch aren’t the only two characters present in the leaks. Data-miners were able to find more dialogue for some characters present in previous voice over leaks too. Also present in the Season 1 build is more dialogue for Gizmo from Gremlins and Marvin the Martian from Looney Tunes. Dialogue for these characters was found in previous builds of the game.

Marvin had dialogue in previous builds of the game that was taken out and then added back in with the Season 1 update. Could this be a possible indication that Marvin is coming to the game soon? It is known that the next character to release will be Morty on August 23rd. Rick, Black Adam and Stripe have also been confirmed. However, we don’t actually know which order the next few characters will release. Many players assumed Rick will be after Morty as he was announced first. Despite this, A tweet from the game’s director, Tony Huynh implies that might not be the case.

Keep in mind this is all speculation but “The Character after Morty” is vague and a strange way of wording this. If it was one of the characters already revealed then why would Tony not simply say their name? Could this mean that the character releasing after Morty is one that has not been officially revealed? It could likely be Marvin due to his dialogue being added back in however it could just as well be anyone else in the leaks.

The Strange Case of Gizmo

Next we arrive at Gizmo who seems to be an odd case. Data-miners have found that Gizmo appears to be connected to Stripe as a single character due to sharing similar code names. For context, all characters have a code in the files used to refer to them. This tends to be a variation of the letter C followed by a three digit number. However Gizmo and Stripe are a little different with Gizmo being listed as C023A and Stripe being C023B. What this means is unknown but it’s likely that the two will be connected in some way.

Potential Matrix Content in MultiVersus?

That’s all the voiced dialogue for new characters found in the Season 1 build but that’s not all we have! The game also features cosmetics such as profile icons and banners based on the franchises included within the game. This is important as it means that new data-mined cosmetics can tell us about what might be in the game in the future. And luckily data-miners managed to find something else interesting while looking through the files. A banner seemingly based on The Matrix.

Once again this is speculation and there is nothing confirming that this banner is for The Matrix outside of visual resemblance. However, if it is actually meant to represent The Matrix then this might hint at more potential Matrix content. Could there possible be a playable character from The Matrix coming to the game? Of course the most likely candidate for this is Neo, a character that many players want in the game. But this is all hypothetical, it is possible that this is literally just a banner and there will be no character to accompany it.

Previously Leaked Characters

That covers it for all the characters found in the latest build but that is not all the characters that have been leaked. There are even more characters that were in previous leaks for the game. Previous builds contained voiced dialogue for Raven from DC Comics. Data-miners have not specified if Raven’s dialog was removed similar to how Marvin’s was previously but it is very likely that she will be in the game at some point.

There are also hints at potential future characters in the dialogue for characters already in the game. There are plenty of voice lines in the files of the characters talking to or about currently unrevealed characters. These are more speculative than previous leaks as no dialogue for the characters themselves has been found. It is entirely possible that any of these character may have been cut and won’t make it into the game but the dialogue was recorded before they were cut.

There are a good amount of characters referenced by others but we’ll briefly go over some of the most notable ones. Batman has lines referring to The Joker and Poison Ivy from DC Comics. Shaggy and Velma have lines referring to the gang’s dog, Scooby-Doo. Raven also has a line of dialogue where she seemingly talks to Eleven from Stranger Things.

Raven’s line about Eleven is particularly interesting as Stranger Things is owned by Netflix and not Warner Bros. If Eleven is in fact going to be in the game that would make her MultiVersus‘ first third party character. Including a third party character like this would open the doors for even more potential non-Warner Bros. character to be included in the future.

Potential Cut Content

Unfortunately it isn’t all good news. Data-miners have also found evidence of cut content that will not be added to the game. In previous builds there were multiple references to Lord of The Rings. These references have all seemingly since been removed from the files. According to data-miners, Gandalf had a near complete playable moveset in the game’s data. There were also Lord of The Rings cosmetics and stage assets and Finn had multiple voice lines where he talked to Gandalf. Practically all of this content has since been removed from the files.

It’s possible that this is a situation similar to Marvin’s voice lines where it will be added back in later but this seems unlikely. Many people believe that this is due to rights issues preventing the developers from adding Lord of The Rings content to the game. With the news that Embracer Group are to acquire the rights to the Lord of The Rings IP it is possible that this content will never be released in game. Not unless the developers and Embracer Group reach and agreement.

Of course this is all leaks and anything can change in development so take everything here with a grain of salt. Warner Bros. are the latest to throw their hat into the platform fighter ring with their new game MultiVersus! Developed by the small studio of veteran game developer, Player First Games. MultiVersus is a free to play platform fighter. The game entered it’s open beta last month and has now officially began it’s first season earlier this week. Season 1 also brought along plenty of new info about upcoming content to the game. Here is everything you need to know about what new rewards and content will be available throughout season 1!

Battle Pass!

Of course a new season means a brand new Battle Pass to accompany it. Like with the preseason Battle Pass before it, the season 1 pass is split into two paths. The first is the Free Path, players can earn rewards from this path for free.

The second path is the Premium Path. Players will need to purchase this path in order to claim its rewards. However it grants a new reward each tier meaning it contains more rewards than the Free Path.

The Premium Path costs 950 Gleamium, which is the premium currency within MultiVersus. Gleamium can be purchased through micro-transactions. Spending £7.99 will get you 1000 Gleamium to which is the cheapest way to get the Gleamium you need for the Premium Path. Alternatively if you purchased any of the Founder’s Packs for the game you can exchange a Premium Token for the premium path at no additional cost.

Battle Pass Rewards!

Of course the main appeal of a Battle Pass is all of the in game goodies that you can get from it! Season 1’s Battle Pass contains 50 tiers of new stuff for you to unlock. Brand new Player Icons and Banners will add a little spice to your player profile. Ringout Effects will increase the visual flair of your knockouts. Character taunts allow you to show off your kung fu moves as Shaggy or dance as Jake the Dog.

Of course the most appealing rewards are arguably the brand new character skins. You can unlock Taz’s Tune Squad outfit from Space Jam and Bugs Bunny’s Brunhilde outfit. You can even dress LeBron James as Batman’s iconic sidekick.

Season 1’s Battle Pass is available until November 15th. Make sure to complete your daily missions and seasonal milestones to increase your battle pass tier. The more you increase the Battle Pas tier, the more rewards you will unlock.

New Playable Characters!

As revealed previously at San Diego Comic Con’s MultiVersus panel, both Rick and Morty from the television series of the same name will be added to MultiVersus’ roster of playable character during season 1. Morty will be released on August 23rd with Rick becoming playable afterwards at a later date which currently has not been specified.

As of now not much is officially known about how either of these characters will play in game. However the roster page of the website confirms their classes. Morty will be a part of the Bruiser class while Rick is a Mage/Ranged type character.

According to tweets from Tony Huynh, The game’s Director, Morty is labeled as an “Expert” character. Like the game’s other expert characters it may be a little harder to master Morty’s play style than other characters. This means Morty will most likely cost 3000 in game gold or 700 Gleamium to unlock for your roster.

Even More New Characters!

But Rick and Morty aren’t the only characters coming to the game in Season 1, two more characters were revealed by the new graphic featured on the game’s login screen and website to promote season 1. These characters are Stripe from Gremlins and Black Adam from DC Comics.

Not much about these characters is currently known. Stripe and Black Adam have been added to the roster page on the website. However they are currently empty slots with their names and lack the image or character bio that all other characters have. As a result there is currently no way to tell what classes these characters will be.

There is also no exact date for when they will be added to the game outside of simply during season 1. However it would be reasonable to assume that they will be added sometime after Rick due to being revealed after him.

New Modes!

A new Battle Pass and new characters are not the only new content being added during Season 1! There will also be new game modes for players to enjoy. There are two new modes that were revealed to be coming to the game when the Season 1 Snapshot was shown off during the MultiVersus tournament at EVO 2022.

The first these modes is the Classic Arcade Mode where players will have to fight against a series of opponents back to back. It is confirmed is that the mode will be co-op allowing you to take on Classic Arcade Mode with a friend to help them along the way.

The second mode is a new ranked online mode. This mode will allow players to fight against each other online in a more competitive setting. This mode will be accompanied by leader boards and rankings so players can compete to become the best of the best.

Once again many of the exact details of this mode are unconfirmed. However it can be assumed that players on the same team in 2v2 fights to pick the same character, as this was a rule used in the official EVO 2022 MultiVersus tournament.

The exact release dates for either of these modes are currently still unknown. However they are confirmed to be added to the game sometime during Season 1.

Dead by Daylight has recently revealed a second collaboration with Resident Evil, titled Resident Evil: PROJECT W. This will be the twenty-fifth chapter for the game, and will feature three new playable characters from the Resident Evil franchise.

Dead by Daylight is a multi-player horror/survival game that features four survivors and a single killer, each with a different objective. The killer must hunt, chase and hook the survivors, whilst the survivors must work together to repair generators, evade the killer and escape.

Dead by Daylight is no stranger to collaborating with other franchises, with horror icons including Leatherface, Pyramid Head, Ghostface and Pinhead all being introduced into the game since its launch in 2016. This also isn’t the first collaboration between Dead by Daylight and CAPCOM, with Jill Valentine, Leon S Kennedy and The Nemesis, all being added into the game in June 2021.

Resident Evil: Project W will introduce two new survivors; resident super spy, Ada Wong and young S.T.A.R.S. recruit and medic, Rebecca Chambers, along with one new killer; former Umbrella officer, Albert Wesker (simply referred to as ‘The Mastermind’ in The Fog).

The chapter will also introduce a reworked Raccoon City Police Department map, which has been split into two separate maps; East Wing and West Wing.

Similarly to Chapter 20: Resident Evil’s Nemesis, Albert Wesker harnesses the ability to inflict survivors with a virus, which can only becured with first aid spray littered in chests, around the map. Wesker also has the ability to throw his victims a great distance due to the Uroboros Virus that has infected his body.

Whilst no specific release date has been announced as of late, it is scheduled to be released on all platforms, in Autumn 2022.

Activison plagiarising yet again

Just weeks after removing the ‘loyal Samoyed’ skin from Call of Duty: vanguard, Activision has been caught plagiarising once again as a newly added skin looks an awful lot like one from upcoming FPS Deaddrop.

Call of duty has been known for stealing artwork from other developers over the years, but after apologising and removing a recent example of this just 2 weeks ago they may have been caught yet again. Are we even surprised? Upcoming title Deaddrop is a PvP FPS title currently in development by midnight society, led by Guy Beahm aka famous steamer Dr Disrespect. A big part of this game is integrated NFTs which give players a unique skin, however one skin already seems to be available in COD vanguard in the form of the ‘doomsayer’ skin. Not only that but the skin belongs to a former COD developer, now studio head at midnight society, Robert Bowling (known by the COD community as ‘@fourzerotwo’. He was shown this in a side by side comparison from twitter user @ModenasHD who jokingly said ”I think Robert Bowling is going to be happy to see that Activision just added his own skin in Vanguard” with Bowling later tweeting ”at least name it after me”. Activision has apologised for previous allegations but so far neither company has issued an official response to this very apparent design theft from the unreleased title.
