The new map is finally here, and it looks like Crytek’s best work yet…
The highly anticipated all-new Hunt: Showdown map has finally arrived (on test servers). The map takes us to an all-new location, DeSalle, and boy is it good. It’s a game that so wonderfully creates magnificently intense shootouts in any and all locations. Yet, DeSalle creates up-close and personal firefights like never before. As we have seen with previous Hunt maps, the new map also has 16 locations, each with a potential bounty and a unique strategic challenge. However, DeSalle is a little different. All the central locations are a lot closer to each other than previously seen (see below). Alongside this, the locations are unique and individually interesting in their own right, each with verticality and intricacy, promoting intense, immersive action. I have personally tried the new map, and my DeSalle shootouts were some of the best I’ve ever had in Hunt. The map is the perfect creation in promoting exciting gameplay; it is exactly what players needed and wanted from the new map we eagerly awaited.

As always, Crytek’s attention to detail is mesmerising, but it particularly flourishes in DeSalle, with every building and object helping to string together a true sense of immersion. It feels like it was once inhabited by people, and every item littering the ground or picture on the wall contributes towards this.
For those who aren’t aware of Hunt: Showdown, it is a thrilling, high-stakes PvPvE first-person shooter. You take down nightmarish monsters as you compete for the bounties that will bring you glory, gear, and gold in an unforgiving but insanely satisfying online multiplayer experience. I must say, not many feelings in gaming top the sensation of leaving victorious, bounty in hand, following an intense multi-team gunfight. Honestly, if anyone is looking to try Hunt, I couldn’t recommend it more, and there is no better time than now. Although I must say, if you want to experience the game at its best, you should play it with friends. However, it is still enjoyable as a solo bounty hunter. In other Hunt-related news, recent rumours suggested gaming giant Tencent was looking to buy Hunt developer Crytek. However, nothing has since come to fruition.
