Here at Go2Games, we are all about helping out where it is needed.

We have a history of giving back to the community such as donating games to Legacy Youth Zone, helping out with SVG UK, and giving donations to schools and hospital wards.

Earlier this year we introduced Keep Croydon Connected; a call-to-action borough-wide campaign asking people to donate any used laptops, tablets, PCs to us to give to those that didn’t have access to them during the pandemic. We are also partners with Palace For Life Foundation, the official charity for Crystal Palace PC, to provide gaming consoles to local, disadvantaged children, young adults and families.

So this story about Marcus Rashford sending a PS5 to 9-year-old Jacob from Merseyside for his contribution to charity work puts a smile on all our faces.

Raising Money to Help Fight Child Poverty

Jacob from Merseyside has been running for the charity FareShare in order to raise money to help tackle the ongoing problem that is child poverty. Marcus Rashford, an ambassador of the charity who has helped raised over £20 million since the beginning of the pandemic, noticed what Jacob had been doing via stories from Twitter, as mentioned in his letter addressed to the 9-year-old, and wanted to send him a PS5 along with a copy of PES 2021 to show appreciation for all his efforts.

Marcus Rashford also adds “not all gestures are going to be rewarded, but know that you are appreicated, and every time you look at this gift remember how good it feels to look out for others.”

Jacob told the BBC he started jumping around the room and is so grateful as Rashford is his favourite player.

It’s always nice to read stories like this and see how our efforts for the greater good are recoginsed by others, even if that is not why we set out to do them.
