Calling all Skyrim and Fallout fans! Bethesda has released a new Starfield video which shows off the studios first new universe in 25 years. It gives insight into the games location, known as ‘The Settled Systems’.
Bethesda Director Emil Pagliarulo narrates the trailer, and reveals that the game is set in the year 2330. He describes the Settled Systems as being in a ‘relatively small pocket of the Milky Way, in an area that extends outward from our Solar System for approximately 50 light-years”.
In addition to this, Pagliarulo informed us that twenty years before the game is set, two faction were involved in a ‘bloody colony war’. They are called the United Colonies and the Freestar Collective. Whilst they have managed to agree an ‘uneasy peace’, be warned explorers at this does not mean the game will be without its dangerous hazards!
Check out the video for yourself below:

Starfield Offers Up Dangerous Exploration

Starfield will see you take control of one of the new recruits of an organisation called Constellation. This group is ‘committed to uncovering the mysteries of the galaxy’ and will force you to ‘explore the deepest reaches of the Settled Systems”.

As mentioned above, there seems to be an agreement between the two largest factions to maintain some sort of peace. Despite this, players should still be prepared to come across a wide variety of dangerous foes. These include mercenaries, pirates and even ‘fanatical religious zealots’. Of course, Bethesda weren’t going to make the exploring easy for us, were they?

Furthermore, this Starfield information video once again doesn’t include any game play footage or in-game screenshots of the Settled Systems. However, those glimpses of concept art have already peaked our interest even more. It clearly shows the imaginative designs of this world Bethesda have created which we hope to be just as detailed as any of their previous worlds.

As revealed by a trailer released in August, we have seen the three main cities of the Starfield Universe. New Atlantis and Akila both look set to be really interesting places to explore, and we can’t wait to do just that! In spite of this, we must remember that it is only just concept art and that the cities will probably look vastly different, so we must be patient. Besides, it could be more fun waiting to explore these locations first hand instead of through a game play trailer. Right?

Nevertheless, with Starfield set for a November 2022 release, we most likely will get further trailers to inform us more on this exciting new world. When Starfield does launch it’ll be playable on PC and Xbox Series X, with a day one Xbox Game Pass release. We cannot wait.
