According to the game post, Bungie (the developers of games such as halo and destiny) have been spotted creating a collaboration with a rising titan within the Chinese gaming industry, NetEase.

This collaboration is said to be for producing the new “unannounced FPS mobile game” which happens to be alongside the claim that NetEase has on a new Destiny game for well over two years, as well as the fact that it seems to be a new title instead of a mobile version of Destiny 2. Furthermore TGP reported last year on a large amount of job listings for a mobile title in the Destiny franchise.

To top that all off there’s more information about Bungie beginning work on their own game engine for mobile, seemingly taking them one step closer to the mobile market of gaming. This plan is only furthered more by their partnership with NetEase due to NetEase’s expertise in the mobile gaming industry.

Quite a few videos have been made covering the topic and the post announcing this information that was gathered from a LinkedIn profile of an game artist at NetEase.

the CEO of Bungie, Pete Parsons has said that NetEase has “a significant amount of experience in mobile we don’t have” as well as the fact that the partnership will allow them to “incubate new ideas”. Furthermore Pete said “We want to be able to build games that are inspiring people from around the world, and this partnership in part will allow us to do that, to begin that incubation and development process in a real way,” which further shows both sides devotion to the concept of a mobile Destiny game as well as Bungies devotion to entering the mobile gaming industry.

Sony stated in early January of this year that they intend to acquire Bungie in a deal worth over 3 billion, which relates further to Bungies other aims at expanding the Destiny universe, such as they’re active attempts at hiring to get into the filming industry, that of which is being furthered and realised due to the acquisition by Sony. Totaki stated that “Bungie want to nurture the IP they have in a multi-dimensional manner” – “For that, we believe we can help” – “Bungie can leverage our platform so that their IP can flourish and grow”, allowing Bungie the ability to utilize their Platform as a home for the new project supposedly in the works.

The renowned Japanese videogame giants and publishing house behind legendary and iconic gaming franchises such as StreetFighter, Megaman, Resident Evil and Monster Hunter, Capcom have listed their “All time best-selling videogames“

Capcom have compiled and listed their entire historys released titles and compiled them into the All-time best selling with over 100 of Capcoms titles surpassing 1M units with not surprisingly Monster Hunter World being far and away Capcoms most successful franchise to date leading the pack at a monstrous 18M units sold which released in 2018 on all major formats.

At a distant second place surprisingly at 10.8 M units sold to date is the critically acclaimed Resident Evil 7 which was a successful soft reboot of the franchise that  preceded Monster Hunter World a year earlier.

Within Capcoms top10 it is not surprisingly dominated by variations and spin offs of the Monster Hunter series leading the charge with recent entries of Resident Evil and Street Fighter also making up the list.

The oldest Capcom title to get into the top10 is StreetFighter 2 which released all the way back in 1992 on the now legendary SNES at a 6.3M units sold to date with somewhat surprisingly the latest Street Fighter V which released in 2016 trailing by a whisker at 6.2M units sold to date.

A quick scroll through the quotes or replies to Genshin Impact‘s tweet announcing the upcoming weapon banner shows total, utter dissatisfaction. While the Mistsplitter is one of the most coveted weapons in the game, and is Ayaka’s signature weapon, The Unforged is the most useless 5 star claymore for most players.

The Mistsplitter reforged packs a ton of critical damage, and a high base attack of 674 at level 90. In addition to this, its passive gives an elemental damage bonus – one of the most coveted bonuses a weapon could have. It’s being rerun alongside Ayaka, who is arriving with her brother’s departure in mere days.

Critical rate and critical damage are pretty much the most valued stats when it comes to late game Genshin Impact, which is why 5 star weapons that don’t have a CRIT main stat are considered much less useful to players. There are, of course, some exceptions. There’s Eula’s weapon with its Physical DMG bonus, and Kazuha’s with Elemental Mastery. But for the most part, players would rather get their hands on something with that sweet, sweet critical boost.

The Unforged, on the other hand, has an Attack main stat. It’s still an offensive stat, but not as good as critical rate or damage for traditional DPS characters.

It’s not the worst weapon in the game, but it’s the best in slot weapon of precisely zero characters. The reason this weapon is so irksome is that its passive doesn’t really synergize with its stats. It has a 20% Shield Strength buff, but provides Attack. The only claymore character who can independently produce a shield is Noelle – and her shield scales with defence. Most only use her as a DPS at C6 also, at which state she is also dependent on defence scaling. You wouldn’t want to use this on Itto either – he also needs defence. You can use the claymore on any traditional DPS and benefit from the passive if you have a reliable shielder, such as Zhongli, in your party – which will make this weapon good, but not great.

The reason so many fans are irritated by this is that the Mistsplitter has been highly coveted for a long time, with many people desperate for it to get a rerun. But, for most people, the 50% chance of losing to The Unforged makes this weapon banner very unappealing.

I personally find the decision irritating because it makes it very clear that HoYoverse’s primary concern is milking whales for all their cash. They reran Venti instead of Ayaka alongside her brother Ayato, solely so they wouldn’t have to put their signature weapons – two very powerful swords – on one banner. No, that would provide too much good value to the players! And then they would only do 60-odd pulls instead of hundreds of pulls to reach the guaranteed Mistsplitter. But wouldn’t it make a lot of thematic sense to run Ayaka and her Ayato’s banners together? It would also have been a great promotion opportunity! Put the focus on the Kamisato siblings!

Deep down, all I want is a 5-star CRIT sword for my Bennett… wish me luck for this weapon banner –  heaven knows I’ll need it.

Battlefield Update Coming Next Week

Battlefield 2042 is to receive over 400 bug fixes and improvements in its next update. According to Kevin Johnson, Community Manager for EA DICE, the game is set to receive Update 4.0 next week. Johnson tweeted the announcement on April 13th and shared some of the “key” features that DICE are bringing to the game. Let’s have a look at what these features include.

Update 4.0 for #Battlefield 2042 is set to go live next week, with the Patch Notes going live at the start of that week too.

Changes to Specialist Characters

The first update mentioned is changes to Battlefield‘s new Specialist System. Johnson announced that characters Rao and Paik are to have their traits updated. Specialists are one of 2042’s new addition to the Battlefield gameplay and feature 10 characters each with their own speciality and trait. However, this new system has received a large amount of backlash from fans, who say it ruins gameplay and is merely a means of monetisation and micro-transactions – a feature no stranger to EA players. EA announced that they would address these issues, however Johnson confirmed that this update is merely focused on three of the characters individually.

Rao, a Hacker or Recon character, has a Trojan Network trait, in which a player must kill an enemy to then reveal the locations of other nearby enemies. Paik, another Recon character, has a Threat Perception trait that allows players to automatically spot the enemies that are inflicting damaging on them. It is not stated yet what the updates to these traits will be, but perhaps it will make the traits less cumbersome to use or more rewarding – a complaint that has been levelled at these characters. Sundance, an Assault character, is also being updated with fixes to her Grenade belt allowing for better “target acquisition”.

XP Updates

Update 4.0 also brings a string of updates towards Battlefield‘s XP and award system. Johnson announced that updates are coming to the Ribbon system, which should allow players to upgrade more easily in game modes such as Rush. Rush, in which one team must detonate charges while the other defends, has been a staple franchise game mode since Battlefield: Bad Company. It was removed from Battlefield 2042 but after severe backlash, the developers returned the game mode to the Battlefield franchise. In addition to the Ribbon system, the updates also focus on XP for support actions and teamplay to “ensure teamwork remains king.”

Attachments

Next on the list of features receiving an update are weapon attachments. Attachments have long been another staple of the Battlefield series and received an update with the launch of 2042. The ‘Plus System‘ allowed players to quickly change attachments while on the move. However this feature also faced criticism, with players complaining that the attachments were either not working or looked too similar. According to Kevin Johnson, Update 4.0 seeks to face these criticisms head-on, with a focus on making sure the attachments feel unique.

Vehicles

Finally, the last major change listed focuses on the vehicles in 2042. Johnson tweeted that the vehicle warfare will undergo “balancing” with the intention of making the battle between vehicles and infantry less one-sided and “still has some bite!” In addition, a major bug is being addressed after many players experienced no ADS – meaning they couldn’t aim – after they exited a vehicle.

Desperate Times for DICE?

Next week can’t come soon enough for the developers at EA DICE, after reports that Battlefield 2042‘s Steam player count dropped below 1,000. Steamcharts‘ data suggests the average player count for the last 30 days sits around the 1,800 mark. In comparison, recent hit Elden Ring has an average of around 351,000 and long fan-favourite CS:GO reached up to 575,000 players in the last month.

Battlefield 2042 has been beset with issues from the start. And while DICE seem to be addressing the problems fans are facing with Battlefield 2042, the number of problems the games still has suggests it will be a long road ahead.

Yelan and Kiki Shinobu have been revealed by Genshin Impact surprisingly early.

I must say, this drip marketing release caught me way off-guard. I’ve been happily saving my primogems for Kaedehara Kazuha, not even considering the characters on the horizons of 2.7. Yelan is a character that I’ve been looking forward to also, as she uses my favourite weapon – the bow.

Genshin Impact seems to be releasing drip marketing earlier and earlier these days, perhaps in an effort to beat the leakers to it. Anyhow, the two new characters look gorgeous.

Yelan appears to hail from Liyue, and works for the Ministry of Civil Affairs. Her design is really lovely, with blue details fitting of the hydro element.

We’ll have to wait for more details on her kit, but she is meant to be a five star.

The other new character is Kuki Shinobu, the Deputy Leader of the Arataki gang. Yes – that’s Itto’s gang! People are suspecting that Itto may be getting a rerun soon, with Kuki featured as a four star on his banner. Kuki wields electro and apparently is the ‘mender’ of the Arataki gang. I can’t wait to meet her and see how she interacts with Arataki Itto, a favourite character of mine.

I think her design is also gorgeous, though it’s received mixed reception. I personally really like it, she has a cool vibe. Her mask especially. I’ve actually been asking for ages to see playable members of Itto’s gang – particularly a female character. Needless to say, I’m very excited for Kuki’s release.

Today I heard that Kazuha would not be joining us in Genshin Impact 2.6. The result was me caving and pulling for our Divine Priestess, Kokomi. Not that I regret it. Now, let’s go over her updated build guide together.

This guide will be fully focused on SUPPORT Kokomi. While you can build her as a DPS, and have a lot of fun doing so and get some good damage out of her too, her support build can make a massive contribution to your team’s damage – and healing. It is generally considered her strongest role, so that’s what this guide will focus on.

As a support, Kokomi can provide consistent off-field hydro application and healing. You want to aim for 100% uptime on her skill, which you can maintain with enough energy recharge and using her ultimate to reset the timer on her skill.

Weapon

In short: Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers at R5, which you should be able to obtain easily from gacha as a 3 star weapon. Yes, this is even better for your overall team damage than kitting out Kokomi with her signature 5 star weapon, Everlasting Moonglow. Though that would buff her personal damage and healing, she already heals plenty and the 48% attack bonus for your team should give you better overall damage in the right team compositions.

Artefacts

The best set for support Kokomi is the 4 piece Tenacity of Millelith set. I too was surprised that it wasn’t the Clam set, but again that works best for a damage oriented Kokomi. She will benefit from the Millelith 2 piece bonus for healing and damage, and the 4 piece bonus can be maintained 100% of the time if you correctly manage her skill – providing your team with an excellent buff.

For her circlet, you definitely want to go with a healing bonus. Her other pieces should then prioritise HP, but if you don’t have enough energy recharge you can use a timepiece with ER. Ideally you want quite a lot of ER, around 180 percent. Your substat priorities should, of course, be HP and ER.

For the moment though, I’m using a 2 piece Maiden Beloved and 2 piece Ocean-Hued Clam set. Gets the job done and I’m too lazy to farm Millelith right now.

Team compositions

As a healer, Kokomi is quite useful for the open world and can be slotted into most casual compositions. Kokomi shines best as a hydro enabler though, providing vaporises for pyro dps characters and freeze for cryo dps characters. She doesn’t provide quite as much hydro application as Xingqiu, though, bear in mind. Nor will she do as much off-field damage.

You’ll generally want to use Kokomi, a pyro/cryo DPS, a pyro/cryo support (matching their DPS counterpart), and an anemo unit with the viridescent set. For example, I am currently using Kokomi, Yoimiya, Bennett, and Venti, or sometimes Ayaka, Chongyun, Kokomi, and Sucrose.

While there are other, equally viable ways to build Kokomi, hopefully this F2P friendly support build guide has helped you out!

Anyway, the 2.6 livestream just aired, and confirmed my deepest fear: No Kazuha in Genshin Impact 2.6. There will, instead, be the arrival of Kamisato Ayato alongside the rerun of the Anemo Archon, AKA Venti! Who I do love dearly, but already have. Following Ayato’s banner will be his little sister Ayaka’s banner.

There are going to be 4 events during 2.6, as well as a new Archon Quest bringing the return of Dainsleif. Perhaps the most exciting news for me is the confirmation of two new artefact sets, leaks of which I have discussed previously.

Notable leaker Ubatcha1 has shared new official artwork featuring Kamisato Ayato and Albedo.

Alongside our beloved traveller (pictured here as Aether) and Paimon, pictured are upcoming character, Kamisato Ayato, and the Knights of Favonius alchemist, Albedo. This artwork is promo material for Genshin Impact 2.6.

Albedo had a rerun very recently, so this was confusing to some players. It usually takes at least five or six updates for a character to be viable for rerun, but usually the characters featured in promotion and story are rerun that same update. There seems to be no claims of an Albedo rerun, however, and at the moment leakers are claiming Ayaka and Venti will be the characters getting reruns this update.

What is arknights

Arknights is a Tactical Tower defense game from Chinese Developer Studio Montagne that is available for Android devices. 

The game follows the story of “The Doctor”, who you play as, after they awaken from a coma and are quickly put incharge of the Private military portion of “rhodes Island”, a pharmaceutical company looking into a cure for the highly infectious disease known as Oripathy. Also Catgirls. Lots of catgirls. And catboys is thats your thing. At the same time, the Extremist Faction known as “reunion”, comprised of people who are infected with Oripathy, have began a terrorist campaign that threatens to destabilize the world. Arknights story is part political thriller, part tragic character drama and part Anime.

The game is a gacha Game, meaning you need to “Pull” for units which are graded on a star based rarity system, similar to Genshin Impact. The characters you pull are known as operators and can then be used in stages that take the form of A tower defense style system. Every character is unique (although most do fit into broader Classes and subclasses) and everyone’s strategy with a stage will be different based on what team they have.

Arknights has recently been confirmed to be getting an anime adaptation, scheduled for release in the not too distant future, so if the game itself doesn’t seem to be your style then maybe check out the show when it launches. You can watch the teaser trailer here:

Chapter nine

The latest main story chapter for arknights, Stormwatch, is going to be launching at the games daily reset at 11AM tomorrow. It is the first chapter of the game set after the “reunion” aRc of the story, and will feature a number of new mechanics coming to the game.

For one thing, there are now pillars that you can knock down to block enemy paths using a device given in limited amounts during the stage, as well as a new “Refraction” mechanic that buffs you enemies.

To gain access to chapter 9’s story you will need to clear everything up until chapter 9, INCLUDING chapter 8, and its tough as nails final boss fight against reunions leader, Talulah.
