Oh, Lost Ark, thank you for being co-developed by Amazon Games, now I can flex my New World-roasting hamstring again! Can’t be as cartoonishly harsh as usual on account of Lost Ark becoming quite well-received, but hey, I like a challenge.

For a little while though, some players have had difficulties accessing premium content in-game, some not even able to touch the in-game store.

A community manager of the official Lost Ark forum shared a statement regarding the missing premium items and store updates here… Sweet Baby Jesus, I’m not even joking when I say the Lost Ark and New World forum website formats are… Uncannily similar, to put it mildly! If I didn’t know any better, I’d say Amazon Games might’ve given up on trying to salvage New World and jump ship to something that’s running a tighter one… But what do I know.

And on that note, Lost Ark has been encountering some server instability issues in largely European regions, in part due to high player traffic, which… Between this, New World’s similar issue and the PS5 sales shortage, I think I smell a recurring 2020’s theme coming on.

‘So when will these missing Premium Content items, Crystalline Auras and more come back? Well, the developers are working on a fix. There is no exact date or time for the upcoming update that will fix most of those “major commerce-related issues.

It is important to note that the developers are “hoping” to include all the fixes in the Lost Ark update and on 15th February 2022, they noted “we are prepping for this coming week’ – Lost Ark Manager  TrevzorFTW.

Clarity Boost, a new Xbox Cloud Gaming feature, has been launched on Microsoft Edge Canary, along with other upgrades, according to Microsoft. Gaming visuals are supposed to be improved by Clarity Boost.

All Windows 10 devices come with Microsoft Edge as the default browser. It’s designed to be extremely compatible with today’s web.

Edge Canary supposedly allows you to experience the development process with first-hand access to new features. It can be quite unstable however as it’s being constantly updated.

Edge Canary Gets Clarity Boost

Users of Microsoft Edge Canary, Microsoft’s experimental browser that receives updates early, have been the first to get the Clarity Boost feature. The upgrades are subsequently made available to the stable live version of Edge after being properly tested by Canary users.

You’ll need both an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription and the Microsoft Edge Canary browser to try it out.

Microsoft demonstrated what Clarity Boost can achieve alongside the announcement. There was also a comparison of the feature being used in-game and without. Clarity Boost improves aesthetics in Xbox Cloud Gaming by making the stream’s image less fuzzy and increasing the detail.

It’s hard to tell at first, but when you can look closer you can see the difference.

The character’s facial features and hair are better defined in the Clarity Boost photograph, and the picture is clearer. You can definitely tell the quality has improved.

Microsoft’s mechanism for running Clarity Boost on Xbox Cloud Gaming is unknown. To improve the image, Microsoft says it’s utilising “client-side scaling improvements.” It’s likely that Microsoft is employing artificial intelligence (AI) to improve image quality digitally without using a lot of computing power.

Other New Features Being Tested in Microsoft Edge Canary

Microsoft Edge Canary has also received a quality-of-life update that is useful to everybody. Tab Search is the new feature and is also being tested on Edge Canary before being rolled out to Edge’s main service.

Tab Search is a simple yet effective feature that allows users to search for content across all of their browser tabs at the same time. Users may search all of their tabs at once, rather than clicking from tab to tab and searching individually. Control+Shift+A has been set to Tab Search as a keyboard shortcut.

W hile Tab Search is convenient, it’s Clarity Boost that is the impressive update to Microsoft Edge’s features. Microsoft’s first-party browsers have a terrible reputation in the past. It would be impossible to write about one without poking fun at Internet Explorer. Even considering the fact that the new Chromium-based Edge has some impressive features, it still doesn’t quite top Google Chrome in terms of popularity.

The post Microsoft Have Updated Edge With Xbox Cloud Gaming Feature first appeared on Get2Gaming.

Final Fantasy 14 has a new update inbound. With its arrival many of the skills currently available will be cycled out and replaced. All of the playable jobs will have brand new spells and abilities to switch things up. In tribute to those skills being retired,  Redditor Thefleetingdream has made a video showcasing all the skills leaving the game in 6.0.

A Tribute to Final Fantasy’s Skill Changes

Endwalker will bring many changes to the current jobs in Final Fantasy 14 and how they play. Some will be changed more than others. Only half of the jobs will be losing some of their old abilities, whereas every job is getting new ones.

The video posted by Thefleetingdream goes through all of the skills, abilities, and spells being retired and showcases their animations. They made this video as a living chronicle of the abilities. After Endwalker’s launch this week, none of these abilities or animations will be available in game.

A Brief Idea of What’s Different

Only one or two talents are being deleted from classes like the White Mage and Samurai, usually because the abilities are no longer relevant or make use of mechanics that aren’t in the game anymore.

This includes the Samurai’s Open Eyes benefit when hit while Third Eye is active. Others, like the Black Mage, Astrologian, Monk, and Dragoon, have passive stance-like abilities built into their classes. In Final Fantasy 14, however, the Summoner is being entirely revamped, with more than a dozen of their skills being removed.

This isn’t the first time job actions have been deleted from Final Fantasy 14; every expansion has seen adjustments to the fighting system, which usually include some abilities being removed.

Many of these talents, especially combat stances like the FF14 Black Mage’s Enochian and Dragoon’s Blood of the Dragon, are not missed by players because it means one less thing to remember during intense boss encounters.

Sad to See You Go

Final Fantasy 14 does an excellent job of balancing jobs, thus these modifications are welcome in order to keep the classes interesting, fresh, and competitive.

However, some players are disappointed that some of these job abilities are leaving the game as well as the animations being phased out. particularly the animations, are being phased out. The previous removal of abilities in Final Fantasy 14 resulted in the removal of numerous amazing and iconic animations, such as the FF14 Dark Knight’s Power Slash, the Dragoon’s Ring of Thorns, and the Bard’s Wide Volley.

While it’s unfortunate that the blue Blood of the Dragon aura and the Ninja’s Shadow Fang animations have been added to the ever-growing graveyard, it’s possible that Final Fantasy 14 will bring them back in the future.

The post Final Fantasy 14 Removing Some Skills in New Expansion first appeared on Get2Gaming.

All eyes are on Activision Blizzard since the publishing of an investigative report by the Wall Street Journal. The article directly implicated Activision CEO Bobby Kotick in perpetuating sexual misconduct during his tenure and suppressing calls to fire other top executives for doing the same.

Activision Blizzard staff have since held a virtual walkout for those still working from home, and in-person walkouts for those that are working at the Activision Blizzard offices.

The walkout was called by the ABK Worker’s Alliance hours after the report went public.

Activision Blizzard employees have also demanded for the immediate resignation of CEO Bobby Kotick. He has yet to concede.

Upper-level executives responded by holding a series of all-hands meetings with staff in order to boost worker’s morale. Staff were, however, unimpressed by the contents of the meeting.

Statements from staff members at the company have claimed that the meetings were nothing more than one-sided listening sessions with pre-screened questions with executives, and included a pre-recorded message from Mike Ibarra. Staff weren’t given any opportunity to voice their frustrations in the meeting, and I imagine it felt more like an indoctrination session than a ‘morale boosting’ affair.

Kotick did not speak during any of the meetings with Activision, Blizzard, or King employees. The board seems to have decided to continue their defense of Bobby Kotick and has made no actions to remove or even reprimand the CEO.

Rather than terminate Kotick from his role, Activision Blizzard seems to be hoping the situation will blow over.

Many of Activision’s shareholders, and big names in the industry such as the CEO of PlayStation (Jim Ryan), are showing solidarity with staff and those affected by calling out Activision’s inaction or joining staff in protest.

The attempts to win over their employees seem to have been maintained by Activision for a while now. They apparently gave employees a week off for Thanksgiving. However, obvious pandering and forcing staff to sit in on one-sided meetings isn’t going to do anything to erase the issues brought up by the ABK Workers Alliance.

No doubt, as this situation gains more public attention the staff and public alike will only be more frustrated with the company’s inaction.

The post Activision Blizzard employees disappointed with internal response to CEO criticism first appeared on Get2Gaming.

Microsoft is hosting a special Xbox anniversary event today to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the first Xbox, which debuted alongside Halo: Combat Evolved. “While no new games will be announced, this broadcast will be a special look back at all the memories we’ve shared with the Xbox community over the last two decades,” Microsoft said.

While the event is intended to be a celebration rather than a news event, there could potentially be  some worthwhile news. It has been speculated that an early beta of Halo Infinite multiplayer will be released to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Halo, but this is yet to go live if it is the case. Many Xbox enthusiasts have noticed odd patches to older original Xbox and Xbox 360 games.

When Is the Xbox 20th Anniversary Event?

The livestream will begin at 10 a.m. PT / 6 p.m. GMT on Monday, November 15th. If you miss the broadcast, there will be a replay available after the event. Microsoft is hosting the stream on Xbox’s official YouTube and Twitch channels and its Facebook page. There is a link to the YouTube stream above.

The post Xbox 20th Anniversary Event; Where to Watch first appeared on Get2Gaming.

It has recently been revealed by Capcom that they currently do not have plans to implement cross-save functionality into the PC version of Monster Hunter Rise, which will launch on Steam on the 12^th January. This is also the scheduled release for the Sunbreak DLC, which will add new stories, locales, and monsters.

Monster Hunter Rise released in March , but its storyline wasn’t finished; its cliff-hanger conclusion was added in an update that released in May. That update brought additional creatures and story content, as well as the game’s real ending. The future Sunbreak expansion will most likely build on the additional content.

They recently said in a Tweet that although they have considered adding cross-save support to the PC port of Monster Hunter Rise, it is not a feature they are currently working on.

We’ve heard your requests for Cross-Save / Cross-Play for #MHRise & #Sunbreak, but unfortunately, after looking into it throughout the development process, we found we are unable to implement it this time. As always, we appreciate your continued feedback and support.

This will come as a disappointment to fans of the series who may have been hoping to pick up the game on PC and carry on from where they left off on the Nintendo Switch. Capcom hasn’t ruled out cross-save just yet. It’s unclear whether cross-save for the game on PC will be added at a later point. It could still be a possibility, it’s just not their focus for now.

Capcom revealed the PC version of Monster Hunter Rise during their presentation at this year’s Tokyo Game Show and announced that it will provide players with several enhancements made possible by access to strong PC technology. The game, which is now available for pre-order, will have 4K support, HDR support, and an unlocked framerate.  A Monster Hunter Rise demo will be released through Steam on October 13th.

Monster Hunter Rise is currently available to purchase in our store on Nintendo Switch, and will be released on Steam on 12th January 2022. Or try another title from the series!

Red Dead Redemption 2 is known for its stellar craftsmanship, and it has set a precedent for game development in recent years. However, no game is without glitches.

Very occasionally, glitches do, in fact, occur in Red Dead Redemption 2. Due to the immaculate state of the game, these glitches stick out even more. One Red Dead Redemption 2 player has captured a perfect example of this after reaching their demise due to being run over by a horse and buggy.

The minute-long clip shows Arthur’s much-desired Arabian horse getting stuck upside down on top of a carriage, being dragged around town whilst its legs continue to kick in the air.

For whatever reason, the horses in Red Dead Redemption 2 can sometimes seem to break the laws of physics.

Do not stress. The clip ends with the horse being dislodged. Hence, no horses were harmed in the making of this video.

There is no doubt that Red Dead Redemption 2 will go down as one of the most excellently crafted games in recent history. Its level of detail is perhaps unparalleled. Due to this, situations like the one above often seem more comedic than anything else. However, if players would rather avoid such physics-defying glitches, then they should probably avoid horses together.

Insomniac Games has recently announced they are hiring for a new multiplayer project…

Insomniac, the studio responsible for bringing us recent titles such as Spiderman and Ratchet & Clank, have taken to Twitter to announce that they are hiring for five new roles regarding a new multiplayer game.

The roles are Creative Director, Systems Designer (Multiplayer), Story Lead, Art Director and VFX Artist.

Insomniac has not given us any clues regarding what the game is; however, one of the job descriptions gives us a small idea. The job description for the Systems Designer role refers to melee-based combat.

Under the ‘other skills’ section in the listing, it reads: “Thorough understanding of melee combat systems, enemy design and boss design.”

Insomniac’s recent endeavours have included only single-player games, most notably Spiderman and its sequel Spider-MAN: Miles Morales. They also recently released Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart.

The studios last high profile multiplayer release was 2014’s Sunset Overdrive. Before that, they developed the Resistance trilogy on PS3.

The studio’s most recent release was Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart, released for Sony’s console on June 11, alongside the first PS5 bundle.

Valheim’s most recent update allows players to craft their own maypoles, alongside some general bug fixes…

Valheim, the Viking survival simulator, exploded onto the scene when it launched through Early Access on Steam earlier this year. We witnessed exponential growth in the popularity of the game after it began receiving overwhelmingly positive reviews.

Throughout this process, the developers have constantly been working on the game. This has led to an all-new patch of bug fixes released for Valheim today.

For those who don’t know, Valheim is a brutal exploration and survival game that can feature anywhere from 1-10 players. It is set in a procedurally generated purgatory inspired by Viking culture/Norse mythology. To leave Valheim and gain passage into an afterlife in Valhalla, players must scavenge, craft equipment, survive the environment, and slay the ferocious realm conquering beasts. Battle, build and conquer your way to a saga worthy of Odin’s patronage.

The developers latest patch, 0.155.7, primarily focuses on bug fixes and balancing tweaks. However, a major addition that players will undoubtedly be pleased about is the ability to craft your own maypole. Previously, you had to go out of your way to find them in abandoned villages. Now you can simply craft them as a part of the furniture for your humble abode.

Maypoles were highly coveted items, as they increase Comfort Level when resting next to them. Comfort Level is an important thing to monitor in Valheim, as when kept high, you can receive a damage buff which can be extremely helpful for those tough boss fights.

More general fixed issues include:

• Saves being corrupted when exiting the game.
• Players having to click containers multiple times to open them during multiplayer sessions.
• SFX volume setting in the menu using wrong decibel conversion
• AI issues, e.g. Greydwards are now allowed to throw more accurately and farther, stopping bosses from running away from players, tweaking Valheim’s wolf event so it only triggers are the boss Bonemass has been slain etc.

The patch isn’t the most exciting for those who are desperate for new content to play through. However, the introductions of craftable maypoles and some of the tweaks will likely be welcomed by all Valheim players alike.

Google’s Youtube looks set to launch rival to Amazon owned streaming Service Twitch.

It is no secret that YouTube’s owners Google failed in there bid to acquire Twitch last year, being beaten to the post by Amazon’s 970 million pound offer. With global video game streaming audiences continuing to grow YouTube Gaming’s product manager Alan Joyce feels the time is right for a more dedicated outlet for gaming as a whole, in the hope of sharing some of Twitch’s recent successes. In his most recent blog post Joyce said;

“On YouTube, gaming has spawned entirely new genres of videos, from let’s plays, walkthroughs, and speedruns to cooking and music videos. Now, it’s our turn to return the favour with something built just for gamers.”

Youtube is promising 25,000 gaming portals, bringing together all activity of each gaming title,  then fencing it off from the rest of YouTubes mass of content allowing seamless search, browsing and viewing of content.

With twitch already clocking up over 12 billion game streaming hours a month on it’s platform along with the allure of advertising revenue this looks set to be an almighty content based battle!

Youtube Gaming will comprise of a new dedicated site and app which is set to launch in the US and UK this summer.
