New leaks regarding Scaramouche’s kit have been shared.
Frequent new characters are the driving force behind Genshin Impact. Each new update brings new characters with unique playstyles and designs to enjoy. The latest addition to the roster is the one and oni Arataki Itto, the long-awaited claymore Geo DPS character – and my personal favourite 5-star yet. As always, though, we’re still looking miles ahead to the upcoming and future possible 5-stars. The community is buzzing with the talk of Shenhe and Ayato. Many of us are looking even further down the line, though, and I, for one, am very excited by the possibility of playable Scaramouche.
Scaramouche appears to be the upcoming antagonist of Genshin Impact, having taken Baal’s gnosis and seemingly departed from the fatui. Many hopes were dashed with the demise of Signora, and Scaramouche fans feared he would face a similar fate. However, leaks suggest otherwise. Of course, Scaramouche wouldn’t be the first harbinger to join the traveller’s adventures. One of the OG 5-stars, if you will, Tartaglia AKA Childe, is a member of the Fatui. Based on Childe’s dialogue from the Labyrinth event, it also seems like Scaramouche has betrayed the Fatui in some capacity.
This leaves plenty of scope for the traveller and Scaramouche to come to some sort of resolution. This is further compounded by Scaramouche’s tragic backstory, which was recently revealed in the artefact set Husk of Opulent Dreams. Therefore, a redemption (or at least resolution sufficient to have Scaramouche join the traveller) doesn’t seem too out of the question in terms of narrative. However, I hope it is handled better than the Raiden Shogun’s rather… shoddy redemption arc.

Before we press further, I should warn you that these leaks have been declared questionable by the poster and should be taken with a fair dose of salt. Mainly as leaker Sukuna has been known to troll Scaramouche fans.

The idea of another stance-changing character (like Childe) is certainly interesting – it would be an excellent detail if this was a commonality between all the playable harbingers.
Ubatcha has confirmed that Scaramouche will take a prominent role in the 2.5 update, story-wise (reliable). We’ll have to wait and see what goes down and whether the Balladeer actually becomes playable.
