Recent Genshin leak shows leaked animations for the upcoming character, Yun Jin.
Tomorrow marks the release of the next 5 star, Arataki Itto, and brand new 4-star bow-user, Gorou. But as always with Genshin Impact, that doesn’t mean the players aren’t looking miles ahead to the next update. Shenhe and Yun Jin are set to join us in Genshin Impact 2.4, meaning leaks are ramping up. While there’s plenty of excitement around the possibilities of new regions and new bosses, characters always steal the spotlight – as player/character relations are really the heart of Genshin. While much of the hype is directed at the five star, Shenhe, Yun Jin has an entourage of fans as well.
Redditor genshincake shared a clip showing Yun Jin’s animations with the community.
Her animations are graceful and appealing, befitting of a famous opera singer.
Most of her kit has also been leaked by now, though keep in mind that this is all subject to change.
Elemental Burst – Yun Jin deals AoE Geo damage and applies the “Feiyun Flag” effect to all nearby party members. This effect increases damage output by a percentage of Yun Jin’s current Defense.
Elemental Skill (tap) – Allows Yun Jin to spin her polearm with force dealing Geo damage in the process.
Elemental Skill (hold) – Forms a shield with damage absorption that scales with Yun Jin’s max. HP. The shields effect is increased to 150% to all elemental and physical damage.
It seems like Yun Jin will be another defence-scaling character who can benefit from the new artefact set, Husk of Opulent dreams. Currently, Noelle and Albedo (joined by Itto shortly) are the only ones who can utilise it. It’s been shown to be extremely strong on Albedo.
It’s a little hard to tell what Yun Jin’s role is, from her kit alone. I am predicting that she’s going to be in a similar spot as Noelle – a support at C0 who can become a capable DPS at C6 (or continue as a support). Geo isn’t exactly the most popular element when it comes to DPS characters, as it cannot create any offensive reactions like Melt or Vaporise. However, with a good enough kit characters are able to perform immense damage and make up for the loss with high scaling. Xiao of the anemo element is an example of this. As a four-star, however, Yun Jin isn’t going to be in this position. Itto is actually our first 5-star main DPS-type character, so we’re all excited to see how he performs.
Since geo is my favourite element, I’ll definitely be trying to pick up a copy or two of Yun Jin. She doesn’t seem to have much (if any) synergy with Shenhe, which is interesting. Perhaps she’s simply intended to drive banner sales up. All will be revealed in Genshin 2.4, I suppose!
