“I know Android 21 has an amazing figure, but can’t you go one whole blog without bringing up kinks”?… Did I write about this purely to make that joke? You bet your sweet A-Double-Dollar-Sign I did!

The Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour event saw a number of announcements among the competitive gaming sections of the internet. The livestream coincided with Bandai Namco’s announcement of pre-orders being available for an Android 21 figurine, the antagonist who debuted in Dragon Ball FighterZ (psst! Which we happen to have).

In addition, S.H Figurearts have also announced an Android 21 figure recently, which will be sold widespread in October. I’m no Figurine Collector Expert Man (though I sincerely wish that was my code name in a Metal Gear Solid game), but hopefully this is good news for those of you who are.

PLOT TWIST ALERT! You thought this would end with related news about the figurine announcement, BUT IT WAS ME, deciding to tack on a mini roast to the rest of this paragraph! Turns out this was a stealth blog roast all along!

What, when, where, why and who am I roasting this fine morning… I won’t name and shame the actual blog author, but let’s just say ‘A Certain Forbes Blog Posted February 21st’! Easier to maintain my brand as a likable plucky underdog speaking strewth to power if I’m not punching down on fellow content writers trying to get by.

Needless to say: I found out about this upcoming Android 21 figure via Forbes article and it claimed the iconic baddie would be coming to FighterZ as a DLC character on February 24th… Now, if this was a video essay, this would be the part where I would break down the door and use clever editing to film a conversation between Myself and Myself Wearing a Fake Mustache and Monocle! Then I’d be like “aha! You haven’t played the game or even done a picosecond of googling because turns out Android 21 always has been a playable character this whole time! Checkmate! Parry this, you filthy casual”!

And that’s that! I found this little period of perceived fact-checking superiority quite the titillating experience while it lasted. Then I went back to my small-time Hashtag Quirky Bloggy Funtimes, Forbes went back to being a substantially more successful business and we all lived happily ever after!

A long time ago (February to exact) in a galaxy not so far away (Nintendo Direct showcase), we saw the announcement of Zynga’s Star Wars: Hunters. The upcoming 4v4 arena battler will be hitting our iOS, Android and Switch screens in the not so distant feature. However, not much has been shown of the game despite a September cinematic trailer. That is until now.

We were introduced to some of the lore and characters in the game, adding extra layers to the Star Wars mythology we all love so much. The game will be set after the fall of the Galactic Empire, and players look to compete in arenas based off of famous locations in the Star Wars universe. Whilst this does sound extremely cool on paper, how well would it translate over to our phones and consoles? It seems we’ve finally got our answer with this new game play trailer. The answer is- still pretty amazing.

Check out the action-packed trailer for yourselves down below. Could this soon be entering the list for the most played Switch games? We certainly hope so.

Star Wars Hunters: Characters And Release Dates

We weren’t kidding right? It does look like we’ve got a rather exciting Star Wars Adventure on our hands here. Let’s just hope the game runs as smoothly as this trailer shows it out to be. This is what the developers had to say on the games official website.

Engage in thrilling third person combat to dominate grand battlefields set in a range of adventurous maps that evoke iconic Star Wars worlds. Obviously, this adds a really interesting new dynamic to the Star Wars gaming world. If the distinct character designs are anything to go by, the game is certainly going to be unique. It’s nice to see a different take on characters within the Star Wars universe, as sometimes they can get quite repetitive. Jedi this, Bounty Hunter that, sometimes its not just the clones that look exactly the same as each other. Whether we’ll see any of the in-game characters make appearances in other media remains to be seen, but we’ll definitely be keeping an eye out.

In regards to the games release date, well it’s currently slated for sometime in 2022. Clearly this a little vague, but we’re sure to have more news on that sometime soon. However, we do also know that the game has had a soft-launch on Android in India, Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia. Be sure to keep an eye on what those countries think of the game so far!

Bowling Ballers is an adorable, endless-runner bowling game, developed by Netflix themselves. This specific game is only available with a Netflix subscription. With the ‘Kawaii’ (cute) aspect to it, they are sure to draw in a young audience. Rather than avoiding obstacles, the players are encouraged to knock items over, which is logical as they are controlling a bowling ball. “Mechanics include skateboarding, flying and more, all with simple, intuitive gameplay.”. As mentioned in the game description, this does seem very unique and has features that many other endless runners do not have. It also seems as though the course changes and becomes increasingly difficult over time, the layout and presentation don’t stay the same.

Obey Me! Developed by Game company ‘Shall We Date’ has become one of the most popular otome games out there. Due to their gender-neutral MC, the player gets to decide who they are, not the writers. They can be any gender or non-binary if they wish. They are one of the only otome games to make an otome game that’s inclusive for everyone, they are certainly heading in the right direction.

They’ve shown three new character silhouettes, we don’t know their genders, but fans suspect there will be a female, non-binary and perhaps a trans character being added in the game. This could be potentially added to the new season coming up. Hopefully early 2022.

Fans are very excited about this option being added, as it allows everyone to be a part of the otome game community. It isn’t just one set of personality, gender, character or race. This game is for every and anyone. It will be wonderful to see more humans, angels and demons included not to mention how they’ll be added to the plot.

The plot is thickening and with 60 lessons and 3 seasons so far, it’ll be season 4 next. It’ll be interesting to see what they have in store.

What is Obey Me?

Obey Me! Is an Otome dating-sim, that doesn’t just concentrate on love, in fact, the love aspect is more of a feature as in Obey Me! players get more of a plot with unexpected twists and turns. It’s set in a realm called the ‘Devildom’, where the player is a human who becomes an exchange student in a realm of demons, along with angels and a sorcerer. Sky Children of The Light, Adventure Pass Preorders Will No Longer Be Available

Discontinuing Seasonal Pass Pre-Orders

Once the season of Flight ends, there will no longer be any preorders for Adventure passes and Adventure packs, AKA seasonal passes.

We appreciate everyone who has used the preorder feature for Adventure Passes and Adventure Packs to share with friends. Unfortunately, due to changes to update procedures and scheduling, once Season of Flight concludes we will no longer be able to offer Adventure Pass preorders for future seasons.” – That Game Company –

From the start of the next season that starts in early 2022, Adventure passes can only be purchased after a season begins however, the prices will continue to be the same.

The pre-order bonuses will now be added to all the Adventure passes, they’ve also given the possibility to those who receive these passes as a gift and all who receive a pass will also get access to 30 seasonal candles.

Previously only those who pre-ordered the adventure pass could get access to the bonuses, but this possibility has been extended to everyone.

There will also no longer be a countdown to the beginning of a season as TGC mentioned, as it was linked to the Adventure Passes. They may install a countdown in the future, but for now, it will be discontinued.

TGC has mentioned that players should keep an eye on social media to see when a new season will be approaching.

What is Sky: Children of Light?

Sky: Children of Light comes under the ‘wholesome’ games category and was originally released in 2019 for IOS, then 2020 for Android. It’s an open-world exploration game, where a player can go through seven different realms while befriending other players to help them along the way.

The player follows the story of ‘The Children of Light’ who witness their world falling apart in seven different realms after the stars fell from the sky. As a part of this group, it is the player’s quest to find all the stars ‘winged light’ and bring all the children back to life.  This is achieved by exploring the areas, sharing love and light around the kingdoms to awake the ancestors that perished and find out the hidden truth so the stars can be restored. While the storyline is minimal, the concept of becoming friends with different players, chatting and heading out on a great journey, ties it all together.

There are also multiple items to collect such as masks, capes, hairstyles, outfits and musical instruments that allow the player freedom of expression through their character. These items can be obtained by purchasing with real money or with in-game currency.

Sky: Children of Light also have seasonal events, which each have their own unique currency. The currency is called ‘Seasonal Candles’ each seasonal event has a new area to explore in the game, however, each season goes on for a limited amount of time.

What could be more festive and cozy than playing Creative Assembly’s iconic survival horror game this winter?

Feral Interactive, who also handled the game’s Switch Port, will bring Alien: Isolation to iOS and Android this December.

Feral Interactive claims to have replicated the “stunning AAA visuals, arresting narrative and terrifying atmosphere of Creative Assembly’s award-winning sci-fi masterpiece” for mobile devices “without compromise.” They have also added customisable touchscreen controls, or you can connect an external controller via Bluetooth (if your device supports it). The game includes all 7 DLC packs at the price of just £12.99, and is available for pre-order already.

Alien: Isolation is set 15 years after the events of Ridley Scott’s classic sci-fi horror film ‘Alien’. Players take on the role of engineer Amanda Ripley, who attempts to uncover the truth of her mother Ellen Ripley’s disappearance.

The game quickly became a classic, as Creative Assembly did a fantastic job of recreating the film’s unnerving atmosphere. We can only hope that the mobile version will be as well executed as the Switch port, and make this classic accessible to those who don’t have access to a PC or gaming console.

Rocket League Sideswipe, the Psyonix’s new mobile game, had launched into pre-season. starting in Oceania with a wider launch coming on the way. The game was revealed for iOS and Android earlier in March as a mobile, 2D version of Rocket League. You’ll be able to play solo or team up with a friend for two on two matches.

Instead of the regular 3D perspective of Rocket League, Sideswipe has a 2D side-on view, as the name would suggest. It uses simple touch controls for casual players, according to Psyonix, but will also offer advanced control mechanics for players who desire more of a challenge. As with the original game, it will offer a ranking system for competitive modes and a variety of customization options.

As the gameplay trailer above shows, it looks to capture the spirit of the original game. As the developers have explained, logging in with your Epic Games account for online matches will let you earn extra XP across both Rocket League and Sideswipe. This is a great incentive for fans of the original to check it out, even if they’re not usually into mobile games.

Every time you level up in Sideswipe, you’ll earn a ‘Bonus Win’ in Rocket League. Then, once you win an Online Match in Rocket League, you’ll get extra XP for that Bonus Win. Bonus Wins can also be earned for Sideswipe by playing Rocket League, so enjoy the extra XP in both games,” Psyonix wrote.

Psyonix no doubt launched Rocket League Sideswipe in Oceania to shake out any bugs before is global launch, which should be before the end of the year. So far, however, Psyonix has yet to provide any details on when exactly it will be.

The post Rocket League Sideswipe Launch first appeared on Get2Gaming.

Last week, Netflix made its new game selection available to all subscribers with access to an Android platform. Starting today at 6pm GMT, iPhone / iPad users will be able to join in on the action as well.

In the Netflix app, you will see a dedicated row for games, from which you can choose what you want to download. The iPad app will allow you to select the games category from a dropdown menu, too.

Thanks to Apple‘s policies in regards to the App Store, the process will work slightly differently from its Android counterpart. The main Netflix app will still provide access to the games library, but the games will launch as a separate app.

Once the app opens, you’ll have to authenticate your Netflix account. Then you’re all set to game!

The games coming to iOS are the same ones that launched on Android, including Shooting Hoops, Teeter Up and Card Blast. Additionally, there are two Stranger Things titles: Stranger Things 1984 and Stranger Things 3.

The next game heading to the platform will supposedly be a League of Legends rhythm game called ‘Hextech Mayhem’. It will launch on November 16th for Nintendo Switch and PC, and should join Netflix at a later date.

Though the new service’s catalogue is very small at the moment, it’s available to Netflix subscribers at no additional cost (and who doesn’t have Netflix in this day and age? Even if you’re squatting on a friend’s account).

The post Netflix Gaming has arrived on iOS first appeared on Get2Gaming.

That’s right folks, between the Minecraft storymodes (psst, we got some cool Minecrafterooneys here), that one Carmen Sandiego special, Bandersnatch and the League of Legends adaptation Arcane (more on that here), Netflix states plans to make games accessible for the App Store and IOS. For a little catch-up, we have some backstory on Netflix’s own recent gaming service for Android users.

There may be some push-back, as tech reporter for Bloomberg Mark Gurman has pointed out the App Store’s primary policy being against letting third-party companies make their own gaming hubs in the store. And don’t even get me started on the Fortnite-Chinese store debacle or the play store legalese that became the impetus for a 1984-style ad on the topic by Epic Games.

Xbox Cloud Gaming, Nvidia GeForce Now, and Google Stadia have also tried (and currently failed) to appeal to Apple, but as of yet, the only way way these services have gotten to work is via Cloud-based gaming services, like how Facebook (possibly soon to be Meta) has a bunch of accessible mini-games of varying quality you can play with friends on Messenger. I like Words with Friends and the basketball hoopy-shooty-woosh-dunkery one.

Gurman has gone on to state that despite Netflix’s games being playable via the in-app login, it can’t be downloaded from the app itself. You’ll have to get it from the app store first, then log into Netflix. For Android games, Netflix’s gaming system functions this way for the Google Play Store.

The Funtime Netflix Recommendation Hole: Because I’ve heard many a sad tale from friends of mine complaining they ran out of stuff to watch on Netflix, so here’s some recommendations for anyone using Netflix UK, or anyone who’s international and uses Nord VPN or the like.

1. White Tiger (Netflix Original): A shrewd young man from a poor family uses his wit and intellect to rise to incredible wealth. A darkly funny and emotionally raw exploration of class struggles and inequalities. Think Wolf of Wallstreet but double the wolf (or tiger rather) and half the Wallstreet.
2. Inside Job (Netflix Original): What if every single majorly insane conspiracy theory (besides the Flat-Earther’s) was real and kept under wraps by a corrupt government? Boom! Quirky adult sitcom fun times written and produced by Gravity Falls creators Shion Takeuchi and Alex Hirsch! I especially liked the episode parodying James Bond that also acted as a critique of toxic masculinity and incel culture. For a breakdown on the Incel crowd, have a butcher’s at the video by Contrapoints on the topic.
3. Om Shanti Om: My very first Bollywood experience and a welcomed one! You know how a lot of JoJo fans (myself occasionally included) point to all the weird wacky plot points without context in a non-sequitur jokey way which leads to a “you gotta see it to believe it” method of encouragement? Om Shanti is basically THAT for Bollywood, so I won’t go too in-depth on the plot, but I will say it is a hilarious and beautiful watch alone or with friends. Overcome the one-inch-high barrier that is subtitles and you’re in for a world of fun.

This November, Pokémon Go is going to be holding a whole bunch of events. This will include things like legendary raids, mega raids, and spotlight events, as well as some events that are awaiting more details to be announced. Here’s an idea of what’s happening next month in Pokémon Go.

Returning Legendary Raids

Darkrai is currently available through the legendary raids until November 5^th, where it will be replaced by Cobalion, Terrakion and Virizion – who will return until November 16^th. There is a chance that they will appear as shiny, and they will know the move Sacred Sword. Taking their place after the 16^th will be Cresselia.

Mega Raid Updates

As well as the legendary raids, the mega raids will also be updated from November 5^th. Mega Manectric will appear from November 5^th to replace Mega Absol, who is currently available. Mega Manectric will be available to catch until November 16^th, when it will be replaced by Mega Lopunny until December 1^st.

Pokemon Go’s November Community Day 2021

On the 21^st, it will be Pokémon Go’s November Community Day. Shinx is this month’s featured Pokémon, and it will appear more frequently in the game from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in your time zone. Furthermore, any Luxio that you evolve into Luxray during the event will learn the new psychic-type Charged Attack Psychic Fangs, and Pokémon eggs will hatch at a quarter of the distance.

Weekly Spotlight Events Schedule

There is a weekly spotlight event on a Tuesday evening, between 6-7pm, local time, that provides special incentives and bonuses such as candies or exp to encourage you to try and catch the unique Pokémon of the hour. This unique Pokémon will have a considerably increased chance to appear, making it an ideal time to try and evolve it.

Pokémon Go Field Research Updates

On November 1^st, Pokémon Go’s field research events will reset too, as well as the tasks. This will come alongside a new research encounter – Vullaby. You will be presented with a chance to catch the Dark/Flying type Pokémon each time you complete a research task.

You must first gather seven stamps to accomplish a Research Breakthrough in the game. You’ll get one stamp for each Field Research activity you complete each day, so a Research Breakthrough will require you to perform activities for at least seven days.

Other Pokémon Go Events Awaiting More Info!

There will also be a special event running to celebrate the release of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl on the Nintendo Switch, which is set to launch on November 19^th. More details about this are meant to drop later on.

Finally, another event that is yet to have its full details revealed is the Dia de Muertos event. We currently know the event will run through November 1^st to November 2^nd, but that is all that has been revealed so far.
