E3 not canceled, Just digital Only (Rumor)

Recent leaks have suggested that e3 2022 is happening, although it will be an online only event. This should probably not be too surprising, given the covid 19 pandemic is still an issue some even organizers need to take into account, even if it may seem to be passed.

Previously it had been roumored that this would not be the case. Though the organisers had previously stated that e3 2022 would be a purely digital event, recent rumores indicate that it may have been canceled outright.

These rumors may be false though, in light of recent new information. Renowned insider tom henderson has sent a tweet claiming to have new info from the ESRB. according to henderson, emails where sent from the ESRB to game devs that referred to E3 2022 as being digital only. This wouldnt make sense if the event was cancelled, so it is safe to assume that if this is true, the event is on.

It also helps that Tom Henderson is a very reliable source. He nailed the release date of cod vanguard, and while he was wrong about GTA trilogy being pushed back to 2022, Rockstar instead pushed back the Ps5/Xbox Series X versions of GTA 5 for the same reason stated.

Rainbow Billy The Curse of Leviathan, A Paper Mario – inspired Adventure

It has been announced by ManaVoid Entertainment, the developers themselves that Rainbow Billy: The Curse of Leviathan will indeed be released on the 5th October 2021, that’s 4 days time…It’s come a long way since being announced at the Wholesome Games Direct, during E3. Many have been waiting for its release, the best way to describe this Indie game is a cross between Paper Mario and Chicory. As the Paper Mario franchise hasn’t impressed fans recently with the games Nintendo has put out, they’ve been looking for alternatives, one 2.5D game that gained a reasonable amount of recognition, is Bug Fables, which had everything the Paper Mario fans were looking for, except for Paper Mario. If you don’t know what a 2.5D game is, click here to find out.

However, times are changing and these other 2.5D games have their own unique style to it, while the appearance is similar to Paper Mario, the storyline, dialogue, mechanics and exploration, are all different. They don’t aim to make a Paper Mario replica for Paper Mario fans, but they aim to take inspiration and surprise Paper Mario fans with their new, innovative creation of a 2.5D game. It’s not always going to include turn-based battle, the soundtrack you’re looking for or an exact storyline mimicking the original. Rainbow Billy The Curse of Leviathan and many other 2.5D games, will have their own vibe and I think we should ALL give these games a chance! What is Rainbow Billy The Curse of Leviathan?

Well, Rainbow Billy: The Curse of Leviathan is an adventure RPG developed ManaVoid Entertainment and is a 2.5D game. Rainbow Billy is an Adventure RPG ManaVoid has described this as a game where you “Save whimsical creatures with the power of kindness in order to recolour a black-and-white world in Rainbow Billy: The Curse of the Leviathan, a wholesome 2.5D Adventure-RPG!”. Leviathan, the evil sea monster has taken colour away from the world and it’s up to you to bring it back. With multiple islands to visit, inhabitants to help and bosses to defeat. Not to mention puzzles, exploration and shops where you can get the equipment you’ll need on your dangerous journey (Have you heard the adorable shop theme? Click here to have a look). Rainbow billy is a whimsical, quirky, action-adventure game that everyone should have on their Wishlist.

I’m backkkkk!

Hey guys, its been a hot minute since I’ve updated this blog…. and I can actually say that I have missed filling you all in on the latest gossip. Since I’ve been gone for the most part of two weeks and there could be some new readers I should probably introduce myself all over again just so you guys can get familiar with me… My names Teneil, I am 21 years old and I am a social media administrator for Go2Games.

Lets go all the way back to Monday 14th June which is the week I should’ve posted but it completely slipped my chaotic mind. Now if you was here 2 weeks ago you would know my typical morning starts with a sweet coffee, actually whilst we are on the topic of coffee I found out on Tik Tok (the app where I gain the most knowledge LOL) that if you don’t like coffee without sugar or flavoured syrup then you don’t actually like coffee you just like sugar….

which is just fantastic, so I’ve basically just been wasting my money my whole adult life! But let me not blab on because I could literally talk about me and my random life for hours so let me focus on telling you about what I’ve been doing WORK WISE for the last couple of weeks.

Monday was a in house day so basically we come into the store and we have a brief meeting with the whole team just to discuss what has went well the previous week and if there need to be any changes. Shortly after that meeting my boss Josh sat down with me and my colleague Tanisha and basically wanted to find out if we have any ideas for new content on the platforms that we monitor and post on and we discussed a few ideas for Tik Tok as its a app a where videos can be made super quick and easy and its an amazing platform to really get yourself out there, we had an amazing idea to record a video of predictions for the euros 2021 (or 2020 as all the promotion says) weekly and as it is very current and always trending we thought it was a great idea… Well you remember a second ago when I said that it was super quick and easy…. I LIED! Tanisha and I got the guys from the post production team to do the predictions in the video which I recorded on my camera roll in sections first, that was a mistake… for anyone out there recording a video with multiple parts involved its best to just use the app in the first place instead of your actual camera video because it will not allow you to post multiple videos in one if they are longer than so which is super annoying because I didn’t realise until I went home to edit it so I couldn’t even re record it in time to post it before the matches begun! But on a happier note it is pride month and we told our boss we would love to do something in celebration, we hadn’t yet thought of what we could do so stay tuned but we did change our social media icons to a G2G rainbow which I thought was so cute! You can check it out here here, but apart from that the week was pretty chill and straight forward, the guys over at post production recorded a few videos for our YouTube channel which you can go and check out and you might as well subscribe whilst you’re at it!

Moving on… this week started off really funny, we came into the store as usual on Monday had our brief meeting and then started planning content, our colleague Gemma suggested that we get Toby and Ron to record a trending dance Tik Tok video and it was nothing less than HILARIOUS OMG! They both dressed up in gaming costumes and to be honest I think it would just be better if you just click and see for yourself… what made it 10x funnier was the fact that the security ushered us out of the elevator!

We had also recorded a couple more videos on Monday that haven’t come out yet so keep your eyes peeled for next week. I post Go2Games news daily and this week we had some really exciting updates such as amazon prime day or days* as it last for 48 hours!!! I don’t really know why I said that with such excitement because by the time you would be reading this the sale would have been over 🙁 but don’t worry summer sales have started everywhere this week so you haven’t missed out on much! We also released the pre order for Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart which is available on our website (PS5) and super exciting for gamers. I’ll be finishing my week uploading a new unboxing video, daily deals/ news reports and hopefully a gaming shart.

I hope you guys enjoyed me rambling on about my last few weeks at work, I promise I wont leave it this long again because I know its a lot to take in but I hope to catch you here next week for another catch up.

Chilling News: Xbox Mini-Fridge to be released outside of US

One of the most viewed and talked-about reveals from this year’s E3 was Microsoft’s Xbox mini-fridge. The video revealing the product now has almost four million views, and quickly became one of the most talked-about products on the internet, and it has now been confirmed it is getting a global release.

The meme-turned-reality all started when Xbox players and non-players alike, poked fun at the design of the Xbox Series X. All sorts of comparisons were thrown around (a brick and Spongebob Squarepants to name a few), but the most frequent comparison was that of a mini-fridge. Microsoft then joined in on the fun by making an actual full-size replica fridge of the Xbox Series X. The company then offered a giveaway to win the fridge and even gave fridges to Snoop Dogg and YouTube creator iJustine.

Now, a more consumer-friendly version is being released right in time for Christmas (expected release date November 2021 – January 2022) and Xbox Games Marketing and ‘Home Appliance Visionary’ at Microsoft, Aaron Greenberg, has confirmed it will be released outside of the US.

The price and what regions it will be released in has yet to be announced, yet it is said to be able to hold 10 cans of beer/soft drinks with some extra room for snacks, something any gamer would benefit from. It would be silly for Microsoft not to make this become a global bestselling phenomenon after the worldwide success and staggering demand it already has.

E3 2021 had a lot more than we’d be hoping for this year, filled with tons of games that’ll either diminish our social time or increase it. One of the largest gaming events of the year, this June has been insane, with news from Nintendo’s for Breath of the Wild 2, Square Enix’s with Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy and lastly Capcom’s Resident Evil Village DLC and online play in Resident Evil: Verse for their online multiplayer experience. It’s a lot to take in, but while we wait for these to come crashing in, here are 7 great games you can play right now!

1. Doom Eternal: The Ancient Gods DLC

If you only have a switch but long for some serious combat, Doom Eternal: The Ancients Gods DLC (while it is a first-person shooter) may be a good option for you. Protect humanity after a demon army has invaded earth, travel through dimensions to prevent eternal destruction. The DLC is available on the Nintendo EShop for just £26.99. If you want to catch the original version of Doom Eternal, it’s available on the Eshop for 50% off at £24.99, it’ll be gone in 6 days, so be quick!

2. BPM: Bullets Per Minute

BPM: Bullets Per Minute was announced by the Guerilla Collective and is basically, a musical first-person shooter, set…in the underworld. Who would’ve thought this would be the thing of 2021? Test your rhythmic skills and face the Lords of Helhem. BPM is o ut on PC but will be available for other consoles such as PS4 and Xbox One in the winter of 2021.

3. Lake

Looking for cosy games? Why not try being a mail carrier for a day? Join Meredith Weiss on a hometown adventure, while…well, delivering mail. Discover the secrets and emotional burdens citizens hold, perhaps you can help them or maybe even help Meredith or even yourself as you learn something new along the way. Enjoy the beautiful scenery and wholesome music. The demo is available to download on Steam, enjoy while waiting for the full game to be released for Xbox and PC in autumn.

4. Yakuza: Like a Dragon

Sega’s Yakuza: Like a Dragon, which was released in 2020 is now available for Xbox Gamepass, it’s a turn-based style RPG that throws you into the life of Japanese crime in Yokohama. Follow through with engaging characters and a new direction for this beloved franchise.

5. Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance

This coming Tuesday on the 22 June, Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance will be available on the Xbox Game Pass. Tuque Games takes a classic tabletop game and turns it into a third-person action RPG. Available in multiplayer mode and to increase the chaos four players are accessible in co-op mode.

6. Sea of Thieves: A Pirate’s Life

If constantly slashing through a pile of deadly bones, constantly blocking water leaks in ships and scrambling across the boat while getting fired at JUST to revive your shipmates wasn’t enough, we now have Sea of Thieves: A Pirates Life. With Rare Ltd. Partnered with Disney, they’ve created a game heavily inspired by the Pirates of the Caribbean, you can now follow through with a new, magical, story adventure. Hello my fellow readers and welcome back to my blog!

Let me fill you in on what went down this week…

Like every morning, I woke up to a bright sunny day and started getting ready to make my way to the shop (Find us in Croydon Centrale). As every Monday has been starting, we had our weekly meeting. Discussing what’s been working well, what we can do to improve, trends and overall what is happening this week.

Highlights for this week was; game of the week – Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Summerfest and E3 which was covered in 60second news and Inside streamers.

When we was finished with the meetings, me and Teniel, who is very creative and lovely, went to watch the guys film Inside streamers and filmed behind the scene footage which we used to put up across the social medias we are managing.

After all of that, we moved on to the next piece of content we needed for TikTok. As the Euro 2020…(2021 cough cough) are taking place as we speak, that was the theme for the TikTok video. The boys decide what football team is going to beat who that match and whoever lost had to do a challenge out the bag.

After an eventful day, I headed to do some shopping and headed home to prepare posts that was scheduled for that day whilst enjoying the sunshine before the UK switched up and started thunderstorms.

For the rest of my busy week, I worked on getting the new Go2Games game ready for Friday. For this week, it’s who’s that shadow female edition. This is where our followers have to guess what female silhouette that is from the picture. Yes, video game related of course. After that, I started gathering images for next weeks game which is male edition.

For the remaining of the week, I was uploading scheduled posts, thinking of more ideas to build engagement across Instagram and Snapchat. Snapchat has recently been doing well with having people add us, viewing our content that is being uploaded and, having people actually message which has been good.

As you’ve probably seen here, Tamagotchi is making a comeback but in a smartwatch version, which I think is so cool and can’t wait for it to launch.

E3 2021, A Catch-Up Of The Big Releases

E3 2021 marked the first all-digital event this year. Due to this, publishers like Nintendo, Xbox, Square Enix, and Ubisoft held their own virtual showcases, whilst some companies like EA and Gearbox showcased their reveals in other partner events. Sony skipped E3 2021 completely, although PlayStation did host a State Of Play at the beginning of the month to showcase one of its biggest reveals in Horizon Forbidden West.

We will take you through the biggest upcoming releases announced over the last few weeks (mainly AAA titles).

We must begin by discussing what will likely be the true arrival of the next-gen first-person shooter (FPS) experience in Battlefield 2042. Dice and EA finally lifted the curtain on their upcoming title. The game is a massively multiplayer experience set in a near-future world ravaged by climate-driven disasters, resulting in an unprecedented refugee crisis and in the midst of all of it, another war between the U.S. and Russia. I have high hopes for this game and believe it will be the first FPS to really showcase the next-gen capabilities, with there being a lack of current big AAA titles for the Playstation 5/Xbox Series X|S. Hopefully, they seek to rectify some of the shortcomings of Battlefield 5.

Next up is what I believe to be one of the most exciting projects showcased throughout recent weeks, Elden Ring. Just in case you have been living under a rock, Elden Ring is the From Software developed ‘love child’ of Hidetaka Miyazaki and the A Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin. After years of secrecy, we were finally able to see some gameplay and it was remarkable. For any fans of the Dark Souls series, this is of course a must-play and all Souls fans will be itching to get their hands on what George R.R. Martin has described as the sequel to the Souls series. This potentially represents From Software’s most ambitious project to date.

Ubisoft’s headliner this year was Far Cry 6. A gorgeous looking new instalment in the series which stars the iconic Giancarlo Esposito as the main villain. For what already tends to be a visually stunning game-series, Far Cry 6 looks like it will be the most aesthetically pleasing instalment yet and with Giancarlo Esposito as the villain you can’t go wrong.

Two other big Ubisoft announcements included Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction (previously known as quarantine) and Riders Republic (see below). Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction is similar to the previous Rainbow Six adaptation ‘Quarantine’ except now you are fighting aliens.

Rider’s Republic is a massively multiplayer extreme sports game. It has more unknown surrounding it as it stands than some of the other titles. I’m sceptical of a game like this trying to do too much at once but it is an ambitious project with some potential.

Lastly, Ubisoft E3 ended with a first look at Massive Entertainment’s Avatar game, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora which is scheduled for a 2022 release on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Xbox-Bethesda Showcase revealed the award-winning developer Bethesda’s next big game, Starfield. The trailer shows a crew (or “family” as referred to in the trailer) on board a vessel called the Constellation, with the narrator stating “we have come to the beginning of humanity’s final journey” in which they aim to explore the universe. Despite the details being vague in terms of gameplay, we can expect a massive Sc-Fi RPG, which if similar to that of Skyrim and Fallout 4 will be jaw-dropping. Interestingly, Bethesda decided to make the game exclusive to Xbox and PC which is disappointing for Playstation 5 owners out there.

An announcement that I was particularly excited about (as a fan of both the Super Smash Bros and Tekken series) was the reveal of Tekken’s iconic Kazuya Mishima as the penultimate Super Smash Ultimate DLC character. This collaboration was one I really did not expect and there is no character more iconic in fighting games than Kazuya Mishima. I personally cannot wait for his addition to the Super Smash roster. The reveal trailer’s reference to Tekken’s infamous Volcano scene was also a nice touch for all of those familiar with the character.

The Square Enix E3 showcase finally revealed the rumoured Guardians Of The Galaxy game with an October 26th release date. The game appears to feature all the main cast along with the comedy attached to them, with a seemingly rich story and also the iconic classic 80s music. Therefore, the game appears to be reflective of a lot of what made the movies great; and such, this game is an exciting prospect for any GOTG fans itching for another dose of their favourite characters.

E3 also confirmed the Holiday 2021 release window for the upcoming Halo instalment, Halo Infinite. Alongside this, we saw a deep dive into the game’s multiplayer system and a further look into the single-player campaign.

For those of you who are fans of Mario + Rabbids, you will be pleased to know that the sequel Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope has been announced. The new collaboration between Nintendo and Ubisoft aims to come to the switch in 2022.

Arkane Studios (the developers of Dishonored and Prey) announced an open-world vampire shooter named Redfall. Redfall includes four-player co-op against powerful vampires. It will be exclusive to Xbox Series X|S and PC, with a Summer 2022 release date.

For any fans of the Borderlands series, a borderlands spinoff called Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands was announced. It is a four-player co-op game set in “an unpredictable fantasy world”, taking place after the events of Borderlands 2 DLC Assault on Dragon Keep. This announcement comes alongside the news that filming for the Borderlands movie has finished. It is due to be an exciting year for Pandora’s whacky franchise.

Microsoft also revealed a new visually stunning instalment of Forza Horizon, in the form of Forza Horizon 5. The game is due for release on November 9th and takes the series to Mexico. Microsoft claims it will be the largest and most diverse Horizon ever.

The Outer World 2 was also announced. However, the sequel to Obsidian’s first instalment isn’t due out for a while. Interestingly, the sequel will no longer be available on Playstation.

An exciting new chapter for Sea Of Thieves fans has arrived including one of the most notorious pirates to ever sail the seas, Captain Jack Sparrow. Sea Of Thieves: A Pirate’s Life is due to land on June 22nd and is an all-new original story including Pirates of The Caribbean’s Jack Sparrow alongside Davy Jones.

The developers of ‘Just Cause’ Avalanche Studios revealed Contraband. Contraband is a co-op, open-world game set in a fictional world of 1970s Bayan. Again, it is exclusive to Xbox and PC. It seems PlayStation players will be really missing out on a few upcoming titles.

In other news, a Director’s Cut of Death Stranding with some next-gen enhancements was revealed. In addition, the development of Resident Evil Village DLC was also announced, alongside a Nintendo Switch port of Dragon Ball: Kakarot. As E3 was ending, Madden 2022 was also touched on regarding new upcoming next-gen features of the game.

Lastly, PlatinumGames’ Babylon’s Fall received new attention at E3 2021 after two years of relative silence since it’s 2019 reveal. We received new gameplay footage and were also informed it would be coming to PS5 in addition to PS4 and PC.

With that, it wraps up the AAA title reveal coverage throughout E3 and the surrounding events of the last few weeks. Nintendo Confirms VR Research

Nintendo have come out and announced at this year’s shareholder meeting that they are undertaking research on virtual reality.

Shingeru Miyamoto said the company was “researching VR” so it has “the core technology.”

Miyamoto has also said “Long play sessions are an issue. We want to release something that can be played for long periods, carries value, and is affordable. We want parents to feel at ease.”

I am sure just like I am hoping, the fans are hoping the same that Nintendo are going to release VR capability for the new console due to be released next year. However as we all know Nintendo actually did not release anything about the console at this year’s E3, Miyamoto claimed this was to “avoid imitators”.

E3 2016: South Park: The Fractured Butt Whole First Preview

After Ubisoft’s Press Conference at E3, South Park fans are definitely excited for the new South Park Game. The first one released was so outrageous that the original copies had some content banned which was never returned.

The way that Ubisoft presented the new game was amazing. It was like a short episode of a South Park episode and there was obvious great care involved in the making of the short animated clip. The game has finally got a release date which is 06/12/16.

The game is based right after the event of Stick of Truth, the first trailer released explains this using amazing comedy to get the fans hyped up. The first trailer can be seen below:
