The Epic Games Store has launched its ‘Mega Sale‘ with a massive discount on more than 1,600 games!!!!!!!!!!!!

This Promotion will run for the next 4 weeks up until June 16th.

Epic has announced that over 1,600 games and add-ons with discounts of up to 75%. Alongside this gigantic sale on their online store, Epic have also delivered a free coupon to all Epic Games Store accounts worth 25% off purchases priced at, or combining to, £11.99. While this Mega Sale is happening, for the next four weeks gamers will be able to get their hands on free games with Epic Games Store’s “four weeks of blockbuster free tentpole games” starting with very popular title Borderlands 3, now available until May 26th, In 2021, the Epic giveaways began with NBA 2K21 but Epic has yet announce future free titles.

Epic Games Store sales are bound to continue in 2022 with the summer sale following in July and because of this, the storefront has safely secured a spot in the gaming landscape, providing some much-needed competition to Valve and Steam.

The post Epic Games Store’s Mega Sale 2022 is now on!!! first appeared on Get2Gaming.

Games from the dearly beloved game series have finally made an official appearance on PC (March 30th, 2021) which has been long awaited by fans of the franchise. Originally being released on PlayStation 2, the series has taken a long journey with the games being released across various consoles like the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and more! Although they were playable on PC through the use of emulators, it has now become possible to buy them and play an official version released by the developers.

The games: Kingdom Hearts 1 and Kingdom Hearts 2 Remix editions, Kingdom Hearts 3, and the rhythm game Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory were at first released on the Epic Games Store (EGS) platform (known for games like Fortnite, Rocket League and Sifu). However, like many other games released exclusively on EGS, such as Borderlands 3, Control and Metro Exodus, were later available elsewhere, such as Steam.

The EGS exclusive release was rather controversial, as many gamers are against the company for their practices of securing exclusivity for popular game releases, as well as their marketing tactics of frequently giving away free games on their platform. As a result, there have been a number of gamers who have boycotted buying games on the EGS store, or even using the platform at all. EGS has a dedicated subreddit forum with almost 39 thousand followers who post negative news involving the company as well as posts you might call “hate posts”.

Fans across different online platforms such as Reddit and Steam discussion forums have mentioned waiting patiently for an announcement from Square Enix, the games series publisher. As the 1 year exclusivity period to EGS has now ended since March this year, there is high speculation that the games will soon come to the more popular PC gaming platform, Steam.

Another thing that needs to be taken into account with the potential release on Steam, is that it will hopefully be tested and ready to be played on the Steam Deck, which is the new gaming console from Valve, the creators of Steam. The rollout of the “console” is still taking place, with orders being backordered through 2023. Whilst the appearance and usage is that of a gaming console similar to the Nintendo Switch, it is in fact basically a compact computer which uses the Linux operating system.

The Former Nintendo Switch Exclusive, Daemon X Machina, Dropped on PC in early 2020. Its a third person Mech combat game with more anime than you can shake a stick at, so its great for fans of Mobile Suit Gundam or the Zone of the Enders Franchise. And very soon, you will be able to try it in a stakes free sense, as its next weeks freebie on the epic games store. It will be available from January 27th through to February 3rd and will replace the current game Relicta.

Daemon X Machina is a must-play for fans of the Armored Core Series from darksouls developers From Software. The game was produced by Armored Core Vetran Kenichiro Tsukuda, however it takes much more inspiration from the anime side of the mech genre, with shows like Mobile Suit Gundam and Macross, than it does the darker, more realistic armored core games.

On the subject, Armored Core may be making a comeback, with Hidetake Miyazaki of dark souls fame at the helm.

Right now, you can add Prison Architect and Godfall: Challenger Edition to your Epic Games Store library for free, and you can do so until next Thursday, December 16th. Epic will then disclose the first of its new ‘mystery gift’ promotions at that time.

The Challenger Edition of Godfall is a new, lower price version with limited features. When it’s no longer free it will be available to purchase on PlayStation Plus and through the Epic Store. A hack-and-slash looter RPG that has huge bosses and challenging trials to overcome with your friends. Looks fun, and definitely worth a try seeing as it’s free.

Prison Architect Free in Epic Games Store

If Godfall doesn’t pique your interest, the highly renowned Prison Architect, a deep, genuinely satisfying – if inevitably dismal – management game that tasks players with designing, building, staffing, and (hopefully) efficiently running their own prison, is your second freebie this week.

Since its initial release in 2015, Prison Architect has passed between the hands of Introversion Software and Double Eleven, all under the supervision of Paradox Interactive. It’s also been greatly expanded with many paid DLC, all of which is now available for the first time on the Epic Games Store. The giveaway, on the other hand, is an already extensive base game, which should give novices plenty of opportunity to determine whether they want to dig deeper into their pockets for more.

Epic has yet to release more details about the mystery gift now being marketed on its shop, it did something similar last holiday season, delivering a free new mystery game every day during its Holiday Sale.

According to a recent leak from Dealabs member Billbill-Kun, who has previously properly leaked PS Plus and Xbox Live Games line-ups over several months, Epic’s Holiday Sale will run from December 16th to January 6th, 2022, and will include a total of 15 games. The first 14 will be available for one day only, while the final 14 will be available for one week. Despite the fact that Billbill-Kun did not reveal the entire list, they claim Shenmue 3 will be the first game to be given away.

Epic Games fan- you must be in disbelief! Who’d have thought the company would be this generous? Whilst we knew the studio would be giving away some free games this month, we would never have imagined it to be this many! Nevertheless, ‘Tis the season to be jolly after all!

The fifteen games will reportedly be offered on a daily basis starting from December 16 and ending December 30. But who is giving us this information, we hear you ask? Surely it’s all too good to be true. Not according to Dealabs user Billbill-Kun that is.

How do you know they’re a reliable source, we hear you ask again? Well fear not doubters, Billbill-kun has successfully leaked the PS Plus line ups for the last four months. Not only this, but he managed to get the correct games for the Xbox Live Games with Gold Titles right too. We reckon he can be trusted with this one once again.

Furthermore, they reported that 14 of the games will only be able to be claimed for the specific day. However, the 15th game will give you a little more time by being claimable for a whole week. You better be logging into your account every morning if you want to take advantage of this great offer. Might be a bit awkward asking to be excused at Christmas dinner to download one on Christmas day, but hey it should be worth it!

Even though it’s still a bit of a surprise, I suppose we shouldn’t actually be too shocked. Epic Games have given similar Christmas promotions the last couple of years. Over the 2020 Christmas period they gave us 15 games and in 2019 they gifted us twelve. Hopefully next year we’ll get even more. Mind you, best to be grateful for what you have!

Are Epic Games Giveaways A Sustainable Business Plan?

This is the big question really, isn’t it? Can a company continually succeed by always giving away freebies? This is especially concerning since Epic Games spent approximately $12 million getting games for its usual giveaways. These were purchased during a nine-month period between December 2018 and September 2019 where they amassed 38 games to give away.

These varied from less known titles such as Super Meat Boy and World of Goo to grand Triple AAA titles like the Batman Arkham Collection. As you would expect, they had to fork out quite a lot of money for these products, which led VGC analyst Louise Shorthouse to question its profitbablity.

“The number of free games increased by 41% [in 2020] – reflecting the increase in customers – but their value grew by over 65%,” she wrote.

“Essentially, Epic is giving away more expensive games, probably in an attempt to sustain momentum and continue to draw in a broader audience, and it seems to be working. The number of free games claimed in 2020 increased almost threefold year-on-year, from 200 million to 749 million.

“But even for Epic Games, a company still basking in the glow of Fortnite’s vast profits, there will be a limit to how much it is willing and able to spend on free content”.

The success of Fortnite has certainly allowed Epic Games to be more manoeuvrable that’s for sure. But hey, we ain’t complaining. The more free games for us the better!

The wholesome game directs has been happening once a year since 2020, Wholesome Games summer 2021 direct had over 70 indie games to showcase. They have a large following of indie game lovers, 14k subscribers on Youtube and 73k followers on Twitter.

Who are Wholesome Games?

Wholesome Games is an independent organisation founded by Matthew Taylor, it’s made to shine a light on indie games that are thoughtful, change lives and overall, make people happier. The meaning of ‘Wholesome’ is subjective, yet fits in all those categories. The Wholesome Snack is what you would call a mini direct, in total there are 12 titles for Wholesome Snack announced this November, however, there are many more titles to come as they frequently post on their Youtube Channel & Twitter page, more indie games that are to be released.

Wholesome Indie Games like these are exactly what we need for the future, games that teach players a valuable lesson, make them smile, laugh and have something beautiful to share at the end of it. Gruesome games and sad endings are good too, but we need a little sunshine every once in a while.

Epic Games Free Release Schedule

The next free game is not scheduled to release until after Halloween. Its replacement will not be a horror title. This is because Halloween will have passed by the time DARQ is withdrawn from the Epic Games Store.

Aven Colonyis the next Epic Games Store free game for November 4 to November 11. Aven Colony is a science fiction city management game in which players must oversee mankind as it strives to colonise the alien planet Aven Prime. Aven Colony, like other city management games, is all about constructing new structures, managing resources, and responding to the needs of the residents. Aven Colony has been described as “Sim City in space,” so if you’re into city building simulators, this is the one for you. Don’t miss out!

Although neither DARQ nor Aven Colony received much acclaim when they were first released, the opportunity to play them for free should be alluring. Anyone interested in whichever genre they represent should grab them while they are still free. Again, DARQ is free on the Epic Games Store until November 4th, while Aven Colony is free from November 4th to November 11th, after which it will be replaced by another free game.

With December fast approaching, hopefully we will see the return of last year’s Epic Games Store advent calendar which saw the store count down to the holidays by giving out a new free game every day. The Epic Games Store has not stated whether or not this deal will be repeated this year, but hopefully we will find out soon enough.

Solar Ash, a PlayStation console exclusive, will be delayed in order to improve the game, according to developer Heart Machine.

Solar Ash, developed by Heart Machine who also made the popular Hyperlight Drifter, has been postponed from its original release date of late October.

Heart Machine announced on Twitter that their forthcoming title, Solar Ash, will be delayed. It’s not a huge delay, as it’ll still be released by the end of the year. The developer stated that they required additional time to complete the project.

The pandemic is also blamed for more delays, according to the team. Fans voiced their dismay, but also are understanding of the pandemic’s influence on game development.

The PlayStation platform exclusive, advertised as a “3D third-person action platformer,” will now be released on December 2nd, 2021. Previews have revealed a distinct visual style as well as colourful surroundings. Rei, the main character, must use her speed and traversal skills to scale huge creatures that stand in her path to prevent her planet from being consumed by a giant black hole.

To get the most out of Rei’s skills, the game appears to favour chaining movement abilities together. Alx Preston, Heart Machine’s Creative & Design Director, has publicly challenged speed runners to beat the game. The developers may have been persuaded by such a direct challenge to delay the game to ensure that speed runners are completing world record runs utilising real game features rather than exploiting a technical mistake.

Solar Ash’s postponement comes as no surprise after a year of game delays due to the pandemic. Although, there hasn’t been much advertising for a game that was supposed to be out later this month. As the year progresses, the gaming community has become more sympathetic of the problems that a production company has as it continues to work from home or in a restricted office capacity. A team of less than 50 individuals working on a game should be allowed some slack.

The delay is fairly short though, and I’m sure fans are happy to wait considering the success of Hyper Light Drifter.

Solar Ash will be available on December 2nd, 2021 for PS5, PS4, and PC via the Epic Games Store. Looking for something similar while you wait? Try Dead Cells, a difficult 2D Action based rogue-like. This week Epic Games has revealed the next title that will be available to download for free on the Epic Games Store. The next game to be available for free will be Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse between October 14^th – October 21^st.

Stubbs the Zombie in Rebel Without a Pulse lets you play as Stubbs, our zombie protagonist. The game is simple, with your main objective being to convert humans into zombies using a small variety of methods.

This game initially released back in 2005, and recently saw a remaster released across modern platforms. It came out during an era of games where experimentation of making loveable villains the game’s protagonist was quite common, hence why it may bare some resemblance to the iconic Destroy All Humans! Which is actually available across all platforms in our store.

Free Content for Paladins

Epic also revealed that there will be a free pack for Paladins. This will unlock 4 champions for players to use immediately, alongside a bonus cosmetic for each.  The playable champions are: Androxus, Raum, Tyra, and Ying – one champion from each role.

The current free game on offer on the EpicGames Store is PC Building Simulator. A game in which you grow your very own computer repair enterprise as you learn to diagnose, fix, and build PCs.

Epic Achievements are Coming Soon!

The EpicGames Store also has plans to release a new achievement system next week. The achievements will be sorted into four tiers based on an XP value. These are the tiers and the amount of additional XP you get for the Achievement:

• Bronze = 5-45 XP
• Silver = 50-95 XP
• Gold = 100-200 XP
• Platinum = 250 XP

Any game that features Epic achievements will have a page that outlines all the achievements you can unlock in that game. It will also allow players to track and share their progress towards achievements with others.

The games that will feature Epic Achievements are  Rocket League, Hades, Pillars of Eternity, Kena: Bridge of Spirts,  Zombie Army 4 and Alan Wake Remastered.

The name’s League. Rocket League…

That’s right, everybody’s favourite vehicular football video game published by Psyonix, Rocket League, has received a new car in order to promote the new James Bond movie in cinemas now, No Time To Die. 

This isn’t the first time the suave secret agent’s vehicles have made an appearance in Rocket League, however, this is the first time the game has ever had a hybrid vehicle.

Aston Martin Valhalla in Rocket League

The Aston Martin Valhalla is an up-coming mid-engine sports car developed by British manufacturer Aston Martin in collaboration with Red Bull Racing. It is designed as a sports car intended to be used as an everyday car (if you’re James Bond) and uses cutting-edge hybrid technology for that reason. The Rocket League edition features the same technology and comes with Dominus Hitbox, Reel Life Decal specific to 007’s Aston Martin Valhalla, unique engine audio, and its own signature wheels.

It is being sold in Rocket League via Epic Games Store for 1100 credits and will be available from October 7 until October 13.

Players can also have an attempt at three in-game challenges to unlock a Bond-themed avatar border, banner, and player title.

There will also be a limited-time purchase available for the Bond enthusiasts out there to buy a Bond 007 Collection that comes equipped with the Aston Martin Valhalla as well as the classic Aston Martin DB5. The DB5 was added to Rocket League back in July but players will have the opportunity to buy both for 2000 credits from October 7 until October 13.
