Cyberpunk: Edgerunners: A Neon coloured miracle.

When you bring up the word Cyberpunk or Edgerunners in conversation in today’s day and age, you’re bound to conjure several images in people’s minds. Most would think of pictures of chromed-up bikers with monoband sunglasses and neon flooded streets. Those old enough to remember the original role-playing game will probably smile at fond memories of a rich world and characters. But say Cyberpunk to a gamer, and they would probably scowl, remembering the hype train around Cyberpunk 2077 derailing into a bug-filled crash on launch.

That is, until now. September saw the release of the anime “Cyberpunk: Edgerunners” on Netflix to critical acclaim from the anime community; Studio Trigger’s short ten-episode foray into the streets of Night City has served as a metaphorical adrenaline shot for what many saw as a slowly fading fandom. Without going into spoiler territory, the anime follows the path of David Martinez, a young Night City resident with a particular talent for enduring augmentation at a far higher threshold than most are capable of before being sent on an adventure within the setting.

That setting is perhaps the single most universally agreed upon masterstroke of CD Projekt Red’s 2020 RPG, a strong base that required time to correct that most would not give it. But correct and develop, they did, slowly but surely bringing 2077 up to the standard that lived up to the hype garnered during its fraught development cycle, even if by that point, most players had left the game for greener pastures. However, Edgerunners has changed that, using a combination of Studio Trigger’s expert writing and animation within the established world of 2077 to catch the attention of an audience on Netflix and, after showing them just how rich of a world Night City presents, sets them loose to play the game again.

With the addition of the Edgerunners update (patch 1.6), all augmentations, weapons and playstyles shown off by the characters in the anime can be emulated to perfection in-game, meaning that new and returning players alike can burn the city like their new favourite cyberpunks. And not only is it possible to rule the night as David or Rebecca, but it’s also optimal.

The Statistics

When you pair that with a deeply emotional and fast-paced show with high-quality acting from the likes of Giancarlo Esposito, it shows the audience what is possible within the setting and game, inspiring a colossal upswing in player count.

As shown in the above image, in August of 2022, the average player count for Cyberpunk 2077 was approximately 10,000 with a peak of 18,700, but with the release of Edgerunners, the average player count has more than doubled with the peak playerbase at a staggering 86,000 on Steam alone (Source: Steam Charts). As the show grows bigger, quickly becoming a classic, the word of mouth of Cyberpunk disseminated amongst well-known gaming personalities, bowling over those like the auteur Hideo Kojima by the show’s quality which bleeds over into the game itself:

What does this mean for Cyberpunk 2077 and its future? The playerbase is quickly returning or discovering the world is much better than when they left it and having much more fun with the game than was possible. With more updates like the Edgerunner update on the horizon, there is the incentive and proof that not only is 2077 worth sinking time into and will keep expanding in the coming months and years. It’s safe to say that Cyberpunk Edgerunners is a beacon of showing just how much story and setting content and quality the game can provide, dragging 2077 back from the edge of obscurity and into the neon-drenched light of a cult classic.

MultiVersus has had a rough time with leaks over the past year. Even the game’s existence was leaked in a Reddit post before it’s official announcement with a few incorrect details. Unfortunately for Player First Games, their work being leaked has only become a bigger problem with the open beta release. Data-miners love to dig every new build of the game to find developer secrets and the Season 1 build is no different. So what did they find and what future content does it hint at?

Character Voice Over

One of MultiVersus‘ big selling points is the game’s all star voice over cast providing the voice for the characters. Character’s have new and unique dialogue for the game including interactions and mid-fight banter with other characters. So it’s safe to assume that characters have a lot of line of dialogue in the game right? Well apparently this fact is true for unreleased and unrevealed characters too. Data-miners have found voiced dialogue for multiple unreleased characters tucked away in the game’s files. Not only did they find dialogue for all 4 currently unreleased characters (Morty, Rick, Stripe and Black Adam) but for unrevealed characters as well.

There are two characters that have new voiced dialogue added to the game with the Season 1 update. The first is Beetlejuice from the film of the same name and second is The Wicked Witch of the West from The Wizard of Oz. This is the first time voice work has been found for either character making this a completely new find. Both characters were previously speculated to be in the game however this dialogue serves as confirmation that they are at least planned to be in. This is further confirmed by many posts of these leaks online being taken down by Warner Bros. Games themselves.

More Voice Over for Older MultiVersus Leaks

Of course Beetlejuice and The Wicked Witch aren’t the only two characters present in the leaks. Data-miners were able to find more dialogue for some characters present in previous voice over leaks too. Also present in the Season 1 build is more dialogue for Gizmo from Gremlins and Marvin the Martian from Looney Tunes. Dialogue for these characters was found in previous builds of the game.

Marvin had dialogue in previous builds of the game that was taken out and then added back in with the Season 1 update. Could this be a possible indication that Marvin is coming to the game soon? It is known that the next character to release will be Morty on August 23rd. Rick, Black Adam and Stripe have also been confirmed. However, we don’t actually know which order the next few characters will release. Many players assumed Rick will be after Morty as he was announced first. Despite this, A tweet from the game’s director, Tony Huynh implies that might not be the case.

Keep in mind this is all speculation but “The Character after Morty” is vague and a strange way of wording this. If it was one of the characters already revealed then why would Tony not simply say their name? Could this mean that the character releasing after Morty is one that has not been officially revealed? It could likely be Marvin due to his dialogue being added back in however it could just as well be anyone else in the leaks.

The Strange Case of Gizmo

Next we arrive at Gizmo who seems to be an odd case. Data-miners have found that Gizmo appears to be connected to Stripe as a single character due to sharing similar code names. For context, all characters have a code in the files used to refer to them. This tends to be a variation of the letter C followed by a three digit number. However Gizmo and Stripe are a little different with Gizmo being listed as C023A and Stripe being C023B. What this means is unknown but it’s likely that the two will be connected in some way.

Potential Matrix Content in MultiVersus?

That’s all the voiced dialogue for new characters found in the Season 1 build but that’s not all we have! The game also features cosmetics such as profile icons and banners based on the franchises included within the game. This is important as it means that new data-mined cosmetics can tell us about what might be in the game in the future. And luckily data-miners managed to find something else interesting while looking through the files. A banner seemingly based on The Matrix.

Once again this is speculation and there is nothing confirming that this banner is for The Matrix outside of visual resemblance. However, if it is actually meant to represent The Matrix then this might hint at more potential Matrix content. Could there possible be a playable character from The Matrix coming to the game? Of course the most likely candidate for this is Neo, a character that many players want in the game. But this is all hypothetical, it is possible that this is literally just a banner and there will be no character to accompany it.

Previously Leaked Characters

That covers it for all the characters found in the latest build but that is not all the characters that have been leaked. There are even more characters that were in previous leaks for the game. Previous builds contained voiced dialogue for Raven from DC Comics. Data-miners have not specified if Raven’s dialog was removed similar to how Marvin’s was previously but it is very likely that she will be in the game at some point.

There are also hints at potential future characters in the dialogue for characters already in the game. There are plenty of voice lines in the files of the characters talking to or about currently unrevealed characters. These are more speculative than previous leaks as no dialogue for the characters themselves has been found. It is entirely possible that any of these character may have been cut and won’t make it into the game but the dialogue was recorded before they were cut.

There are a good amount of characters referenced by others but we’ll briefly go over some of the most notable ones. Batman has lines referring to The Joker and Poison Ivy from DC Comics. Shaggy and Velma have lines referring to the gang’s dog, Scooby-Doo. Raven also has a line of dialogue where she seemingly talks to Eleven from Stranger Things.

Raven’s line about Eleven is particularly interesting as Stranger Things is owned by Netflix and not Warner Bros. If Eleven is in fact going to be in the game that would make her MultiVersus‘ first third party character. Including a third party character like this would open the doors for even more potential non-Warner Bros. character to be included in the future.

Potential Cut Content

Unfortunately it isn’t all good news. Data-miners have also found evidence of cut content that will not be added to the game. In previous builds there were multiple references to Lord of The Rings. These references have all seemingly since been removed from the files. According to data-miners, Gandalf had a near complete playable moveset in the game’s data. There were also Lord of The Rings cosmetics and stage assets and Finn had multiple voice lines where he talked to Gandalf. Practically all of this content has since been removed from the files.

It’s possible that this is a situation similar to Marvin’s voice lines where it will be added back in later but this seems unlikely. Many people believe that this is due to rights issues preventing the developers from adding Lord of The Rings content to the game. With the news that Embracer Group are to acquire the rights to the Lord of The Rings IP it is possible that this content will never be released in game. Not unless the developers and Embracer Group reach and agreement.

Of course this is all leaks and anything can change in development so take everything here with a grain of salt. Warner Bros. are the latest to throw their hat into the platform fighter ring with their new game MultiVersus! Developed by the small studio of veteran game developer, Player First Games. MultiVersus is a free to play platform fighter. The game entered it’s open beta last month and has now officially began it’s first season earlier this week. Season 1 also brought along plenty of new info about upcoming content to the game. Here is everything you need to know about what new rewards and content will be available throughout season 1!

Battle Pass!

Of course a new season means a brand new Battle Pass to accompany it. Like with the preseason Battle Pass before it, the season 1 pass is split into two paths. The first is the Free Path, players can earn rewards from this path for free.

The second path is the Premium Path. Players will need to purchase this path in order to claim its rewards. However it grants a new reward each tier meaning it contains more rewards than the Free Path.

The Premium Path costs 950 Gleamium, which is the premium currency within MultiVersus. Gleamium can be purchased through micro-transactions. Spending £7.99 will get you 1000 Gleamium to which is the cheapest way to get the Gleamium you need for the Premium Path. Alternatively if you purchased any of the Founder’s Packs for the game you can exchange a Premium Token for the premium path at no additional cost.

Battle Pass Rewards!

Of course the main appeal of a Battle Pass is all of the in game goodies that you can get from it! Season 1’s Battle Pass contains 50 tiers of new stuff for you to unlock. Brand new Player Icons and Banners will add a little spice to your player profile. Ringout Effects will increase the visual flair of your knockouts. Character taunts allow you to show off your kung fu moves as Shaggy or dance as Jake the Dog.

Of course the most appealing rewards are arguably the brand new character skins. You can unlock Taz’s Tune Squad outfit from Space Jam and Bugs Bunny’s Brunhilde outfit. You can even dress LeBron James as Batman’s iconic sidekick.

Season 1’s Battle Pass is available until November 15th. Make sure to complete your daily missions and seasonal milestones to increase your battle pass tier. The more you increase the Battle Pas tier, the more rewards you will unlock.

New Playable Characters!

As revealed previously at San Diego Comic Con’s MultiVersus panel, both Rick and Morty from the television series of the same name will be added to MultiVersus’ roster of playable character during season 1. Morty will be released on August 23rd with Rick becoming playable afterwards at a later date which currently has not been specified.

As of now not much is officially known about how either of these characters will play in game. However the roster page of the website confirms their classes. Morty will be a part of the Bruiser class while Rick is a Mage/Ranged type character.

According to tweets from Tony Huynh, The game’s Director, Morty is labeled as an “Expert” character. Like the game’s other expert characters it may be a little harder to master Morty’s play style than other characters. This means Morty will most likely cost 3000 in game gold or 700 Gleamium to unlock for your roster.

Even More New Characters!

But Rick and Morty aren’t the only characters coming to the game in Season 1, two more characters were revealed by the new graphic featured on the game’s login screen and website to promote season 1. These characters are Stripe from Gremlins and Black Adam from DC Comics.

Not much about these characters is currently known. Stripe and Black Adam have been added to the roster page on the website. However they are currently empty slots with their names and lack the image or character bio that all other characters have. As a result there is currently no way to tell what classes these characters will be.

There is also no exact date for when they will be added to the game outside of simply during season 1. However it would be reasonable to assume that they will be added sometime after Rick due to being revealed after him.

New Modes!

A new Battle Pass and new characters are not the only new content being added during Season 1! There will also be new game modes for players to enjoy. There are two new modes that were revealed to be coming to the game when the Season 1 Snapshot was shown off during the MultiVersus tournament at EVO 2022.

The first these modes is the Classic Arcade Mode where players will have to fight against a series of opponents back to back. It is confirmed is that the mode will be co-op allowing you to take on Classic Arcade Mode with a friend to help them along the way.

The second mode is a new ranked online mode. This mode will allow players to fight against each other online in a more competitive setting. This mode will be accompanied by leader boards and rankings so players can compete to become the best of the best.

Once again many of the exact details of this mode are unconfirmed. However it can be assumed that players on the same team in 2v2 fights to pick the same character, as this was a rule used in the official EVO 2022 MultiVersus tournament.

The exact release dates for either of these modes are currently still unknown. However they are confirmed to be added to the game sometime during Season 1.

Get Playing

That’s everything to look forward to in Season 1 of MultiVersus. Season 1 brings plenty of content for you to dig into and this is all just for a single season! Even more content such as more characters, stages and cosmetics will be added in future seasons.

Dead by Daylight has recently revealed a second collaboration with Resident Evil, titled Resident Evil: PROJECT W. This will be the twenty-fifth chapter for the game, and will feature three new playable characters from the Resident Evil franchise.

Dead by Daylight is a multi-player horror/survival game that features four survivors and a single killer, each with a different objective. The killer must hunt, chase and hook the survivors, whilst the survivors must work together to repair generators, evade the killer and escape.

Dead by Daylight is no stranger to collaborating with other franchises, with horror icons including Leatherface, Pyramid Head, Ghostface and Pinhead all being introduced into the game since its launch in 2016. This also isn’t the first collaboration between Dead by Daylight and CAPCOM, with Jill Valentine, Leon S Kennedy and The Nemesis, all being added into the game in June 2021.

Resident Evil: Project W will introduce two new survivors; resident super spy, Ada Wong and young S.T.A.R.S. recruit and medic, Rebecca Chambers, along with one new killer; former Umbrella officer, Albert Wesker (simply referred to as ‘The Mastermind’ in The Fog).

The chapter will also introduce a reworked Raccoon City Police Department map, which has been split into two separate maps; East Wing and West Wing.

Similarly to Chapter 20: Resident Evil’s Nemesis, Albert Wesker harnesses the ability to inflict survivors with a virus, which can only becured with first aid spray littered in chests, around the map. Wesker also has the ability to throw his victims a great distance due to the Uroboros Virus that has infected his body.

Whilst no specific release date has been announced as of late, it is scheduled to be released on all platforms, in Autumn 2022.

Halo Infinite developer 343 Industries has been attacked by angry fans of the game after the Season 02: Lone Wolves update of the game had recently released. The studio made controversial changes to the game that has affected enjoyment for the already shrinking playerbase. One of which recently, was the removal of the “glitch” weapon, the “tank gun”, which was found in the campaign section of the game. The Tank gun was a popular, overpowered gun that the player could find that would shoot Scorpion tank shells. It was often used in speedruns, legendary difficulty runs, LASO runs and for fun in general. Using it made the campaigns boss fights rather trivial as it was so powerful.

Due the the public outcry about the change in the latest update, 343 Industries has decided that they will be adding the gun back in the upcoming Season 2 patch. This is just one of the changes announced about the reversal of changes by the community manager of 343 Industries, John Junyszek.

The tank gun was thought to be a nod back to the Scarab Gun easter egg found in Halo 2 and Halo 2: Anniversary, which was a well-known feature of the games. The tank gun however, was supposedly not intended to be included in the release version of the game, which is why it was dubbed a glitch.

It was an invisible object, with no name, placed on top of the far railgun of the crashed ship, on the mission Outpost Tremonius. While in the players hand, it remains invisible and affects the use of the players abilities like vaulting over walls, attacking with melee and using certain equipment. However, the benefits outweigh the drawbacks, you can and will absolutely destroy enemies and send them flying using this gun. It took players less than a month into the games release to find it, and quickly became well-received.

343 Industries claim that they are actively listening to feedback and taking it seriously. It is hoped by the players of Infinite, that the developers will continue doing this as to prevent such contentious changes again in the future. The developers have previously mentioned Halo Infinite being part of a 10 year plan of the Halo games universe, so it is in their best interest to keep spirits high to retain loyal players, while trying to draw in new players.

There are a number of recent and upcoming games, films and tv shows that use various cultures and mythologies to drive their stories. This series aims to explore the relationship between an IP and its surrounding mythology and how this shapes its characters. Today, we look at the tv show Moon Knight, exploring the character design of Khonshu and his links to Egyptian Mythology.

Warning: This article contains spoilers for Moon Knight. 

Moon Knight

Moon Knight is Disney+‘s latest TV show set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Oscar Isaac stars as Steven-‘with a v’-Grant, a museum gift-shop employee, who has blackouts and a sleeping disorder. Steven learns he has dissociative identity disorder and shares a body with Marc Spector, a mercenary. Steven is suddenly thrust into a world of violent Egyptian mythology when it turns out Marc Spector is the chosen avatar of Khonshu, the Egyptian god of the moon. Under the guise of Moon Knight, Steven and Marc must work together if they are to overcome the evil forces that seek destruction of the world.

But who exactly is Khonshu?

In the TV show, Khonshu is a mysterious figure that seems to haunt both Steven’s mind and city rooftops. A violent god who uses his avatar to kill people – the god seems to be a mix of a petulant child throwing temper tantrums and a narcissist, claiming to be “true justice”. This unpleasant mix is also seen in the comics, with Khonshu manipulating Marc Spector to do his bidding and bring “vengeance” on those he deems deserving. The similarities between the comics and the TV show also extends into the character design of Khonshu. The god is presented as a looming figure, wrapped in bandages with a large bird’s skull for a head. But who exactly is this god?

Khonshu is based on the Egyptian god Khonsu. Khonsu was the god of the moon, but also associated with fertility and healing. It’s thought the name Khonsu comes from the Egyptian word, khenes, meaning to wander or travel. Khonsu, as the personification of the moon, would travel across the sky and was changeable in his nature – waxing and waning throughout the year.

Seen as the sole source of light during the night, Khonsu was seen as a protector against evil – battling the darkness, while Ra descended into the underworld to do battle there. Closely related with the darkness, therefore, Khonsu was also seen as a violent and vengeful god – and it’s here we see the links with the comic book Khonshu. In fact, Khonsu is mentioned in both the Pyramid Texts and Coffin Texts – Ancient Egyptian sources – as a force of vengeance. The Pyramid Texts state “he is the envoy who is sent to punish” and this is clearly echoed in Moon Knight, where Khonshu declares “I only punish those who deserve it, I am true justice.”

On a side note, it is also interesting how the concept of Khonsu changed over time. This is the only mention of Khonsu in the Pyramid Texts, suggesting he wasn’t that prevalent in early Egyptian mythology. This might explain why in the TV show, Khonshu seems to be sidelined by the major deities of the Egyptian pantheon. However, in the later Coffin texts, Khonsu is mentioned far more often, suggesting he had grown in importance. And by the time of the New Kingdom, when his temple was built at Karnak, he was described as “the greatest god of the great gods.” An epithet that was also used in Vol 188 of the Moon Knight comics.

The Iconography of Khonsu and Khonshu

The Egyptian god Khonsu was either depicted in mummiform or wearing a bird head. In the TV show and comics, we see Khonshu’s design takes both these elements. The mummified aspect in Egyptian iconography was probably used to point towards the eternal aspect of the god. But it also perhaps points to his protection of the wandering souls, seen in the Coffin Texts. In the comics and TV show, it serves to connect Khonshu with Ancient Egypt and also adds a disturbing element to the character. The flowing robes of the character also makes it feel ghostly – as well as a priestly image.

The TV and comics also make use of the bird head depiction. However, whilst in Ancient Egypt Khonsu was presented with a hawk or falcon head, Khonshu seems to have a raven or crow head. The falcon or hawk in Ancient Egypt was a symbol of power and sight – king of the sky overlooking his domain. However, the character design of Khonshu once again focuses on death imagery, with ravens and crows being carrion and scavengers of corpses. In addition, the use of a skull creates this unsettling image and the long, overreaching beak creates a more threatening feel than that of a hawk or falcon.

With this in mind, it is clear the character design seems to pull as much from Grim Reaper iconography as it does Egyptian mythology. With his flowing bandages, hollow skull and crescent moon-adorned staff, the character seems designed to evoke the image of Death – which can only be bad news for Steven ‘with a v’.

There are a number of recent and upcoming games that use various cultures and mythologies to drive their stories. This series aims to explore the relationship between a game and its surrounding mythology and how this shapes its characters. Today, we look at the game Ghostwire Tokyo and its use of Japanese folklore and mythology. 

Ghostwire Tokyo: Cats and Dogs

Ghostwire Tokyo was released 25th March 2022. In the game, Tokyo’s civilians have all disappeared and Yokai, spirits or demons, have invaded the city. You play as Akito, a civilian who survives after being possessed by a demon, KK. Akito and KK must work together, clearing the city of demons and returning Tokyo to the living.

When Ghostwire Tokyo was announced in 2019, one of the major concerns people had was whether or not you could pet the stray dogs. The following year, Tango Gameworks and Bethesda announced that yes, you could pet the dogs. Just before the game’s release, it received more attention for its inclusion of “Yokai Cats Running a Bodega“. Clearly then, the developers knew what the internet wanted. So great is the internet’s love of pets, however, that fans were let down when it was revealed you couldn’t feed the cats, stray or otherwise. Since then the game has received mixed reviews, with people commending its detailed environment design but limited gameplay choices. Coincidence, I think not. Regardless, the publicity surrounding the cats highlights how society today views them as solely pets and is desperate to give them love and attention. However, this wasn’t always the case.

Nekomata 

The Yokai Cats seen in Ghostwire are known as Nekomata. In Japanese folklore, these spirits are cats that have lived for so long that they have acquired both spiritual powers and a second tail. But in the game…they run bodegas. In fact, Nekomata were originally seen in Chinese folklore and were said to be cats that lived in the mountains, with a taste for human flesh. These stories were one of a number of things that were adopted from Chinese culture into Japan. These cats were seen as wild, monstrous beasts that would kill and eat helpless civilians. But in the game…they run bodegas. Gradually, during the Edo period – as cities became more populated – the Nekomata were also said to come from domestic cats that reached old age. Nevertheless, the Nekomata still retained their malevolent tendencies, with the ability to raise and control the dead, cause fires and kill people. But in the ga- you get the idea.

Ghostwire Tokyo‘s Relationship with the Past and Present

Ghostwire Tokyo blends both past and present throughout its game. In this Wired article, the game’s creators remarked upon the juxtaposition between the “old shrines” of Tokyo and its modern skyscrapers and how “the past and modern technology intertwine to give the city its identity”. This idea has been prevalent in the discussion of Japan’s identity as a whole – with some bemoaning Japan’s technical extraordinary progression while seemingly abandoning its Shinto past. One of Japan’s most famous exports, Godzilla, is seen as this battle between nature and technology.

But beyond Ghostwire‘s environment design, the game brings this relationship of past and present into its character design as well. The city is peppered with Yurei, ghosts, who were once overworked civilians and now haunt the city, dressed in their business-suits and carrying umbrellas. Ghosts of teenagers and schoolchildren, once addled by anxiety and the stresses of the future, now haunt the streets headless. Their school uniforms being used to identify them instead. The developers at Tango Gameworks have updated the Yurei folklore of the past to reflect the present. Although the city is seemingly abandoned by the living, the Yurei are dressed as civilians who you would expect to see walking down the street – with the same problems that any civilian today faces. Through this, the developers are further intertwining the living and the dead, the past and the present.

But what does this have to do with cats? Well, the developers do the same thing with the Nekomata. The character design serves to reflect today’s culture. In Japanese culture, cats have gone from being monstrous beasts, from being necromancers and evil spirits to bearers of good luck, to Hello Kitty and now to cute Bodega owners. As Hiroko Yoda – an author on Yokai and consultant on Ghostwire – says “They shape-shift to suit the times. They can be cute. They can be scary. They can be helpful. They can be whatever you need for the purpose.”

The Yokai and Yurei of Ghostwire Tokyo are updated to reflect modern society. They examine the problems of technology, anxiety, stress and everything that encompasses modern day life. And through this reflection they allow players to look at themselves and ask themselves where are they going?

The wordle craze continues with a web-based clone for the massively popular battle royale game

It is impossible to deny the rapid success of Wordle. The word game has taken the internet by storm, as players fight to keep their streaks alive by carefully guessing the Wordle word of the day. The game even became popular enough to be purchased by The New York Times. With such success, comes imitations. With everything under the sun getting some sort of Wordle clone, why not Fortnite? That’s what the folks at Fortniteskins.com figured, and they have now created their own Fortnite-themed version of Wordle called Fortle that you can now place once per day.

Unlike some other Wordle clones, the rules here are identical, it’s just that the word list is Fortnite themed instead of using all 2,000+ viable words from the New York Times version of the game. The colours have also received changes, to match the theme of Fortnite. Gold (like the legendary items) means you have the right letter in the right spot, purple (like epic items) means you have the right letter in the wrong spot. Grey is wrong letter, wrong spot.

Fortnite has managed to build up an impressive amount of content and story over the course of it’s first two chapters, and the three seasons of the current third chapter. As such, there’s a surprisingly high number of five letter words that fit within the game’s theming. BUILD, STONE, FORTS, SPIES, TREES, STORM, KNOCK, FIGHT, SPAWN, SCOPE, PHASE, CRANK etc. But if you’re having trouble, it also helps that the same website that Fortle is on houses the entire library of the Fortnite content that can easily be used as a mini cheat sheet if needed. Not that we encourage the very serious business that is cheating at Wordle.

As for Fortnite itself, the current Doctor Strange led season has been making a few waves by shaking up it’s core gameplay, by disabling it’s signature building mechanics. Chapter 3, season 2 involves warfare between factions on the ground, and we are starting to see IO blimps crash to the surface as a result of the fighting. Fortnite recently donated all proceeds from the first two weeks of the season to Ukraine relief (thanks to the war theme being very ill-timed), which raised an astonishing $144 million in just two weeks.
