Who’s ready to start 2022 the right way? We certainly are! That’s why we cannot wait to delve right into the latest and greatest which PlayStation Now has to offer this month.
As the festive season comes to a close, it’s quite easy to feel doom and gloom in the winter months. We’re sure you’ve played the hell out of all your Christmas games over the last month (well we have at least) so surely you’re looking for something to spice up your gaming lives once more. It looks like PlayStation Now are going to have you covered.
Six games will be available from Tuesday, January 4 including Mortal Kombat 11, Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, Fury Unleashed, Uturned, Super Time Force Ultra and Kerbal Space Program: Enhanced Edition. That’s quite the collection of games now, isn’t it?
This certainly boosts the PlayStation Now library up by quite a bit. If you still haven’t got a subscription, well what are you waiting for? The streaming service includes over 700 PS2, PS3 and PS4 games available on PS5, PS4 or PC. Not only this, but there are 300 PS4 titles which can be downloaded in their entirety to be played on consoles. What more could you want?
This isn’t the only month where the game service titles have look exceptionally interesting. December 2021’s PlayStation Now games were GTA III: The Definitive Edition, John Wick Hex, Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster and Spitlings. Whilst the GTA III remaster hasn’t quite gone to plan, there’s not denying its had a monumental effect on the gaming industry today. As a result, it should definitely be checked out by anyone who didn’t play it upon initial release.
Moreover, November 2021’s PlayStation Plus games were Knockout City (PS5 and PS4), First Class Trouble (PS5 and PS4), and Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning (PS4). What a time to be a PlayStation fan it seems, right?
Recently, it was reported that Sony is likely to invest more into PlayStation Now. However, it seems that they have something else up their sleeve also. According to Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, the project is code named Spartacus which will be divided into three tiers.
Essentially, we will still be getting all the standard PlayStation Plus benefits which we usually receive. This of course includes free games every month and being able to access multiplayer content. However, its the second tier when things start to become interesting. Sony intend to give us the ability to download a variety of PlayStation 4 and 5 games onto your particular system.
Lastly, the third tier would give you access to everything else, whilst throwing in some demos and games from the PS1, PS2 and PSP eras. Get ready to delve into the nostalgia bank to relive some of your favourite classics. For more information on this secret project, check out this article here.
In the meantime, be sure to head on over to the PlayStation Store as soon as possible! On the other hand, if those games don’t quite appeal to you, well check out the wide collection of titles we have available instead!
