Call of Duty: Vanguard‘s multiplayer experience is free for all players to access for a week!

Activision has opened up access for players on all platforms to try the latest Call of Duty title Vanguard‘s multiplayer game mode for a week starting NOW!!! through to the 24th May. Alongside this promotion, they have dropped a brand new multiplayer map Mayhem which is set in a 1950s Monster set. This all coincides with the juggernaut that is Warzone, the event currently ongoing is Operation Monarch unleashing King Kong and Godzilla onto the mammoth battle royale map Caldera.

This is not the first and won’t be the last time Activision will give free access to Vanguard this year with a two week long free period that already happened in April. Vanguard has not been a success by any means, with poor reception from players, a decrease in sales by 40% in comparison to the previous title Black Ops Cold War and a pure lack of excitement for another World War II shooter. Despite still being one of the best selling games of 2021, Call of Duty: Vanguard posted the worst franchise launch since 2007 for the FPS series in some regions, the series had been on an upwards trajectory with the huge release of 2019’s Modern Warfare, followed by the battle royale Warzone. However, Vanguard appears to have not “clicked” in terms of sales compared to other recent launches. Battlefield 2042 Season 1 is currently set for release in early June.

DICE‘s troubled title Battlefield 2042 finally has a release date for it’s battle pass-style upcoming Season 1 update. Early June is the time but it can’t ever be set in stone with the quite frankly horrible start to Battlefield’s life cycle. Even before release this game has been in a downward spiral, with the open beta last summer that gave everyone access to try the game early being pretty much unplayable to multiple delays to the initial release date of the game Battlefield has taken many many hits but DICE and EA are trying to turn this around with multiple hotfixes and patches to build up to the release of Season 1.

Season 1 is DICE and EA‘s attempt to copy the unbelievable success of Fortnite and Call of Duty Warzone‘s battle pass, a live service with plenty of features and unlockables for gamers to earn whilst playing with friends and against others in online competitive modes. Battlefield 2042 has taken such a reputation hit over the last 6 months with players leaving in droves with the PC edition of the game dropping below 1,000 concurrent players in April, a truly shocking amount from such a popular run of titles, Battlefield Bad Company 2, Battlefield 1, 4 and 5 all being massive successes for DICE and their publisher EA.

EA CEO Andrew Wilson was quoted last week.

This is one of the great franchises of our industry, built by one of the great teams in the industry, and our expectations are it’s going to continue to grow and be a really important part of our portfolio for many, many years to come.

This comes after many fans suggesting that EA and DICE have given up the crumbling franchise after flagship Halo Infinite was released with fans loving the newest addition to the long running franchise. Andrew Wilson had denied claims that Halo Infinite made Battlefields issues look more prominent after Halo’s impromptu release of a free multiplayer for all Xbox players.

Through all the stumbles EA are hell bent on sticking with Battlefield 2042 with multiple quality of life updates and listening to fans requests to add features that were expected such as a dynamic leaderboard to check on your stats mid-game(something that should’ve been featured since release). So does the future finally look bright for Battlefield 2042.

The post Battlefield 2042 Season 1 set for release after delays! first appeared on Get2Gaming.

Activision’s biggest franchise is already garnering hype as they return to the Modern Warfare series with the supposed date for their trailer, alpha test and possible release date being leaked!

Well, it’s the time of year again! the Call of Duty hype train arrives with many ready for a big improvement after the failures of the two previous titles, Black Ops Cold War and Vanguard. As many have fallen out of favour with the FPS genre Activision and Infinity Ward are hoping to turn their fortunes around with the sequel to the highly successful Modern Warfare (released in 2019).

On April 28th, Infinity Ward revealed to the world the logo for the upcoming title and had fans wanting more information.

They’re reports suggesting that some snippets and teasers of the game could be revealed as soon as the 2nd June, this has surprised many because fans thought they would expect to wait until Summer Game Fest 2022 which starts the following week (10th June) for all the information. Following the teasers a suspected official reveal trailer will arrive on the 8th June with huge details on the games campaign being revealed at the Summer Game Fest. Great news for fans as we are not that far away from news coming our way.

As we power through the summer of games being revealed and release dates being pushed back, game developers will need you to turn that console on and test their games out for them with public Alpha and Beta tests. The Call of Duty Franchise have always had tests to make sure their game is full functioning before release, rumours are that a possible Alpha test for Modern Warfare 2 could be dropping mid-August. For the last 5 years PlayStation have had a contract with Activision where the platform will get new and exclusive content before the competitors and that will continue up until 2023, so if you are on the PlayStation 5 you could get your hands on Modern Warfare 2 before anyone else. But for Xbox gamers don’t be down because you will also get your hands on the tests possibly weeks after Sony players and with Microsoft’s gigantic acquisition of Activision for $68 million, Call of Duty’s exclusivity contract will probably be on the Xbox platform after 2023.

The reported release date for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is October 2022.

No news if Infinity Ward will continue to release their games on the old generation consoles with Xbox One and PS4 players increasingly worried on the silence from Activision’s side of things. Lastly, the big blockbuster game mode Warzone that kept us all enthralled through the last couple of years could be getting a sequel following the games release. The latest rumour is that Warzone 2 could be releasing late 2022 or most likely early 2023.

The post Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Reveal Date Reportedly Leaked! first appeared on Get2Gaming.

A lot of games fall victim to players cheating to gain a competitive edge. Call of Duty: Warzone is not exempt from this, and a recent exploit has surfaced which really ruins the game for anybody else involved.

Warzone players come across so many cheaters to the point that their block list is full. Blocking them is one way to ensure you don’t come across them again in matchmaking, but there is a limit to how many you can block. Recently these cheaters have been exploiting the helicopters found on Rebirth Island with aimbot hacks.

Ricochet, Call of Duty’s anti-cheat system, is expected to launch in December, prompting cheats to become even more bold. Hackers appear to be trying to get as much use out of their cheats as possible before they are blacklisted by the anti-cheat system.

Aimbot and Helicopters… What’s Next?

Players have claimed that they were mowed down from the sky without hearing or seeing a helicopter. Some hackers have even used the same method by flying helicopters under the map. As a result, players have no choice but to ban and report cheats as they approach death.

Unfortunately, cheats aren’t the only issue that gamers must contend with; Call of Duty: Warzone also has a number of issues that need to be addressed. One such flaw allows players’ riot shields to vanish if they are knocked unconscious inside a vehicle. This bug appears to be rather persistent, and it has, regrettably, remained for a long time, much to the chagrin of many that use it.

Many Warzone players are also concerned about the impending addition of Vanguard bayonets to the game. This is because to the fact that many players believe Warzone’s melee to be rather buggy, as they believe the Kali sticks are already unbalanced and misused.

With the Kali sticks, players can often hit their opponents through walls and easily win close-quarters confrontations, which is why many are concerned that the bayonet would be similarly overwhelming.

Players of Call of Duty: Warzone can only hope that the Ricochet anti-cheat is as effective as Activision claims. If this is not the case, users may have to find an alternate battle royale game to escape the ever-growing onslaught of cheaters.

Call of Duty: Vanguard reportedly had the worst Call of Duty launch in 14 years in the UK.

The release of Vanguard was met with a mixed reception. Some fans being excited for a Call of Duty release with others being skeptical on how rushed it seemed to be. With Vanguard seeming like an “uncalled for” release, it isn’t a surprise that the reviews were not positive; even with the game being fun.

For the game to reportedly have the worst launch in 14 years within the Call of Duty franchise says a lot. The last game to have near to as bad being Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, the game that kicked off the ‘Modern Warfare’ era.

According to gamesindustry.biz, the site published physical and digital sales data from GSD showing the difference in sales between Black Ops Cold War and Vanguard’s opening week sales, showing a decrease of 40% from last years’ release.

Comparing Call of Duty’s highest opening week sales, Call of Duty: Black Ops in 2010, Vanguard sold almost 200% fewer copies making the release look even more disappointing but in fact compared to other opening weeks in the UK this year, Call of Duty: Vanguard comes at second to FIFA 22 which in the large scheme of things isn’t that bad.

Call of Duty: Vanguard was released November 5^th with fans being excited over the new look with the game being based around World War II. Fans have wondered why the sales of Vanguard come so low compared to previous releases. We feel the buzz surrounding Battlefield 2042 and Halo Infinite also play a huge part with the games attracting many players. Another reason that highlights the decrease in sales, according to Activision’s most recent financial results for the three months ended September 30^th; Call of Duty’s overall monthly players have taken a decrease.

Activision look to keep on bringing out new content for its’ games, including new features and updates to Vanguard. So, Vanguard players, keep an eye out for future updates and news from Activision.

Sledgehammer Games releases a teaser teasing the Pacific Map coming to Warzone in place of the current Verdansk.

Call of Duty: Warzone have had the same map for its entire existence with the well known Verdansk map being introduced during release. Verdansk being a map that is originally featured on Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War is based in the Cold War whilst the new pacific map, rumoured to be called Caldera is based in the World War II. Caldera is coming on Call of Duty: Vanguard in November with the map coming to Warzone in December.

Sledgehammer give fans a very short glimpse of what is to come for Warzone and Vanguard players in the pacific map. Especially, giving some incite into the story line of why players are heading to the Pacific.

In the teaser, it appears that Sledgehammer Games connect the story in Verdansk to the story in the Pacific, with Black Ops Cold War’s Adler, Woods, Hudson, and Mason together interrupting Call of Duty WW2 Captain Carver Butcher, after discovering him in a hidden Nazi bunker where he then goes onto then revealing he established the Vanguard team which then saw him move to the Pacific Island of Caldera to find the Nazis who fled Germany before Berlin fell.

With Call of Duty: Vanguard being released today; fans will be able to play on the Pacific Island of Caldera on Multiplayer Mode, with the map coming to Call of Duty: Warzone in place of Verdansk on December 3^rd. Although, replacing Verdansk comes at a big risk, fans have been asking for a new map on Warzone ever since Rebirth Island was introduced. It comes at big risks for the main reason of players being used to Verdansk and the specific locations. Fans letting go of something they are very much aware of will be a hard withdrawal to bare and may take time to become accustomed to the Caldera map. The map setting should be interesting as the setting is completed different to the current Verdansk map. We hope that the Warzone community accept the map as their own and enjoy it thoroughly.

With the upcoming release of Call of Duty: Vanguard not far off at all now. Sledgehammer Games have revealed what exclusive bonuses will be available for players who pick up the PlayStation version of the latest CoD title.

In the Battle Pass bundle, PlayStation fans can look forward to monthly double XP events, more custom loadout slots, and five tier skips. This was announced on the PlayStation Blog and recounted by CharlieIntel below. Those who play on a PlayStation console will also receive a new Combat Pack for each new season (PS Plus members only). As well as an additional 25% weapon XP boost while playing in a group with friends.

Call of Duty’s Exclusivity History

Activision and Sony have an agreement in place that allows PlayStation players to access content before other platforms, and Vanguard is the latest in the series to carry on this tradition. Previously, PlayStation had early access to Vanguard’s Champion Hill mode, while the beta was first available on PlayStation before being made available on Xbox and PC.

According to a new video for Vanguard, the PlayStation-exclusive content will not be available on Xbox or PC for at least a year.

Microsoft had a relationship with Activision for Call of Duty exclusivity for years before Sony took it away from the Xbox business with Black Ops III in 2015. Since then, every PlayStation game has included some type of unique content, and Destiny did as well when it was released by Activision.

Vanguard is set to be released on November 5, and it isn’t the only major event for Call of Duty this year. To correspond with the WWII theme, the battle royale game Warzone is launching a brand-new map, Caldera, and changing its name to Warzone Pacific. In addition, with the acquisition of Digital Legends, Activision is really stepping up its efforts in the mobile market for Call of Duty.

Sledgehammer Games speak on the use of DualSense that will be implemented into Call of Duty: Vanguard and the addition of four New Multiplayer Operators.

Call of Duty have shown clear focus on applying real qualities and features into Vanguard to give players a realistic experience. This being shown by the real-life WWII setting, the attention to detail, the weapons used and more. PlayStation 5 DualSense controller feature is used to “Heighten your senses” with “immersive haptic feedback, dynamic adaptive triggers and a built-in microphone, all integrated into an iconic design.”

Depending on the gun of choice on Call of Duty: Vanguard. Players are to apply dissimilar amounts of pressure to the shooting trigger with this also applying to the aiming trigger. The controller will also give feedback, allowing the players to feel the weight of the gun as they fire with gun attachments also having affect on the feedback.

Sledgehammer Principal Engineer, Chris Fowler states in a PlayStation Blog; “Our goal in Call of Duty: Vanguard was to simulate the trigger weight of real-world weapons, and to give the player the opportunity to find the trigger pull that works for them in the game.”

“The feedback applied by the DualSense controller doesn’t just impact the firing trigger in Vanguard, but the scope trigger as well, meaning the downsight speed and L2 trigger weight changes based upon what weapon you’re wielding.  For example. heavy weapons will feel heavy, lighter weapons will feel light, and everything in between.  Plus, the attachments you have on your weapon will play a role in this as well, so it’s a factor to consider as you’re making your selections.” He stated.

Fowler then proceeds to explain how the use of DualSense’s haptic feedback will work for players.

“So when enemy fire is tearing through your cover, you will feel the impacts of the bursts and debris around you”

The use of DualSense brings players a much more realistic feel to the game, closing the gap between gaming and real-life war.

In a separate PlayStation Blog, Sledgehammer also details four new multiplayer operators.

Main character, Arthur Kingsley is amongst one of the four added multiplayer operators with him previously only being able to feature on the single player campaign mode. With the only other already revealed campaign mode player, Polina Petrova also being one of the four new operators added onto multiplayer. Both being playable on Campaign Mode.

Other two operators are completely brand new, one being Daniel Take Yatsu, a brave loyal soldier that keeps the promise of “no one gets left behind”. Lastly is Padmavati Balan, a rogue soldier that hates imperialism. She troops alone on a mission to save her people.

Call of Duty: Vanguard is scheduled for release on November 5^th when all the discussed Vanguard content will finally be playable.

With Vanguard writers hoping on playing a hand in creating two sequels for the game, stated earlier this month. Also being discussed during a New York Comic Con panel by Sledgehammer contractor Sam Maggs. She stated that she hopes Vanguard’s characters can become new mascots for the blockbuster franchise over multiple series entries.

Call of Duty Mobile Season 9: Nightmare is soon to be released with mobile fans excited of what is to come.

With Halloween fast approaching. Call of Duty always have something special in store for the community with Warzone, Cold War and Mobile players expecting interesting things for this year’s event in particular, ‘The Haunting’ Event.

What is ‘The Haunting’ Event?

This week we saw the release of ‘The Haunting’ Event for Call of Duty: Warzone and Cold War for this year’s Halloween; releasing October 19^th. The Haunting fans expect new challenges, new weapon skins, new operator skins, new rewards, new modes and more. With one of the most exciting modes that release every Haunting being the ‘Haunting of Verdansk’ on Warzone.

The Haunting of Verdansk being a mode where the normal Verdansk map is set at night with players being able to become zombies after being killed. You must survive as the alive player in order to win the battle royale.

‘The Haunting’ is set to most likely run until November 1^st, a few days before the release of the newest COD game, Vanguard.

Season 9: Nightmare launches October 20^th/21^st depending on your time zone. The official time of release being confirmed as 5PM PT / 8PM ET on the 20^th with it releasing 1AM BST for those in the UK.

The Halloween festivities on the arise meaning the highly favoured Undead Siege is set to make a return. Undead Siege, being a popular Zombies mode looks set to return with a Halloween twist with players fending off the undead on Isolated with a variety of Zombie types and opponents.

The new season also includes a brand-new Battle Pass, a set of new rewards, new Multiplayer Maps and more. Obviously as Halloween is near, the menus and setting will all be surrounded around the event.

Activision release Call of Duty: Vanguard Zombies trailer leaving the COD community interested in trying out.

Call of Duty: Vanguard Zombies mode trailer dropped October 14^th via YouTube showcasing interesting new additions from Treyarch. Fans seem to have noticed the return of original World at War Zombies map, Shi No Numa. Specifically pointing it out, Call of Duty Youtuber and Informant ModernWarzone posted a video on twitter showing proof of his sighting of the map. In the video, he shows frame by frame clips of the trailer. Pointing out the things that confirms it to be Shi No Numa.

With this later being confirmed by Activision fans are left excited. Shi No Numa being one of the monumental maps to drop with it being the third ever Zombies map changing the scene of Zombies as a whole.

Activision announced that Call of Duty: Vanguard is the “franchise-first crossover” stating that it is the “precursor to Black Ops Cold War Zombies.” Adding “This cooperative experience continues and intertwines with the Dark Aether story to create deeply engaging lore, all while innovating on the core gameplay that the mode is famous for.”

“From Stalingrad to Shi No Numa, you’ll fight Von List’s undead army on all fronts” with the trailer revealing many new abilities that have never been seen before on a Call of Duty: Zombies.

Zombies being developed by the original Treyarch opposed to Sledgehammer Games leaves the COD community very excited for what they have in store. Treyarch being original developers of the Call of Duty series, being in partnership since 2005 with the release of Call of Duty 2: Big Red One. Treyarch are heavily credited for the development of Zombies mode in the Black Ops series, especially Black Ops, Black Ops 2 and Black Ops 3 with the Zombies being a standout game mode on those games.

Call of Duty: Vanguard is set to be released November 5^th with many fans excited all over the world. Many being interested in the Campaign mode which has been developed by Sledgehammer Games, which features an interesting storyline during World War II. Many Call of Duty players being interested in the Multiplayer game mode which has added new game modes and has always been the go-to for the COD community. But with the new Zombies trailer being unveiled, it has grasped many fans interest. We look forward to seeing how far the Zombies game mode will excel; with the addition of the classic map, Shi No Numa, many of the community believes Zombies could top all game modes in next month’s release.
