Well, according to a reliable Fortnite data miner, some new weapon called the Firework Gun may be coming out in one of the future updates.

So, if you’re wondering what weapon this could be, then this post will help you find out.

Fortnite’s longevity and staying fresh

On the other hand the lifespan of video games often lasts just a couple of years or even a few months, Fortnite has managed to stay at the forefront of gaming for years now.

Fortnite’s constant updates ensures the game is always exciting and fun.

Players get new weapons and game mechanics in regular waves of updates, and this helps to keep them feeling fresh. They also receive a steady stream of items to use when they’re battling on-screen, so they can stay excited about the gameplay.

Fortnite’s Season 3: Chapter 3 is here and with it, new mechanics that we just can’t get enough of!

Fortnite continues to grow, and in its second week, it’s already amassed an audience of tens of millions for its Season 3: Chapter 3.  So far it has proved to be a successful change, with players from all over the world engaged in each of the different changes.

During the seasons, players have discovered new gameplay mechanics in the “Vibin” season.

These mechanics are bringing increased depth and complexity to the game.  Some of the cool new features are riding wolves and boars as mounts, healing beneficial mushrooms, and Storm Sickness; a status that drains your HP while staying in the storm for too long.

Where did the rumour about the Firework Gun in Fortnite originate from?

The claim of the Firework Gun comes from Fortnite leaker and data miner HYPEX.  You could say the Fortnite leaker has leaked the trailer for the current season.

They posted a three-second video of projectiles bursting into a colourful fireworks display.

Originally spotted by an anonymous leaker named Shot-Marco, HYPEX reported that the explosive weapon was coming this season.

You can find it in chests, on the ground, in supply drops, and being sold by an NPC.

There is a possibility that the Firework Gun is a variant of the Fortnite Grande Launcher

According to HYPEX, the first assumption is that the Firework Gun is most likely a form of the Grenade Launcher.  In recent years, Fortnite has had various seasonal variants of the grenade launcher.

The Snowball Launcher

Each version varies slightly in effect, but the theory still holds true since Epic Games hasn’t confirmed it.  But HYPEX has another theory on what it might be.

There is a possibility that the Firework Gun is a reworked version of the Fortnite Flare Gun

While the Firework Gun may be a reworked version of the Flare Gun. The Flare Gun is a weapon that can be used to mark players who are under a fired flare’s path, and to ignite any structures.  With the 4th of July approaching in the US, signs are pointing towards a re-skinned Flare Gun. It is possible that the Firework Gun may have its own unique attributes.

Battlefield 2042 Season 1 is currently set for release in early June.

DICE‘s troubled title Battlefield 2042 finally has a release date for it’s battle pass-style upcoming Season 1 update. Early June is the time but it can’t ever be set in stone with the quite frankly horrible start to Battlefield’s life cycle. Even before release this game has been in a downward spiral, with the open beta last summer that gave everyone access to try the game early being pretty much unplayable to multiple delays to the initial release date of the game Battlefield has taken many many hits but DICE and EA are trying to turn this around with multiple hotfixes and patches to build up to the release of Season 1.

Season 1 is DICE and EA‘s attempt to copy the unbelievable success of Fortnite and Call of Duty Warzone‘s battle pass, a live service with plenty of features and unlockables for gamers to earn whilst playing with friends and against others in online competitive modes. Battlefield 2042 has taken such a reputation hit over the last 6 months with players leaving in droves with the PC edition of the game dropping below 1,000 concurrent players in April, a truly shocking amount from such a popular run of titles, Battlefield Bad Company 2, Battlefield 1, 4 and 5 all being massive successes for DICE and their publisher EA.

EA CEO Andrew Wilson was quoted last week.

This is one of the great franchises of our industry, built by one of the great teams in the industry, and our expectations are it’s going to continue to grow and be a really important part of our portfolio for many, many years to come.

This comes after many fans suggesting that EA and DICE have given up the crumbling franchise after flagship Halo Infinite was released with fans loving the newest addition to the long running franchise. Andrew Wilson had denied claims that Halo Infinite made Battlefields issues look more prominent after Halo’s impromptu release of a free multiplayer for all Xbox players.

Through all the stumbles EA are hell bent on sticking with Battlefield 2042 with multiple quality of life updates and listening to fans requests to add features that were expected such as a dynamic leaderboard to check on your stats mid-game(something that should’ve been featured since release). So does the future finally look bright for Battlefield 2042.

The post Battlefield 2042 Season 1 set for release after delays! first appeared on Get2Gaming.

The Epic Games Store has shared the two titles that will be free to play next week. Since 2020, Epic have been giving out free games to players. Starting 28th April, both Just Die Already and Paradigm will be free to play until 5th May.

Just Die Already and Paradigm

Just Die Already is described as an “old people mayhem sandbox” game. Players must complete challenges in order to earn enough money to claim a comfortable retirement. You can either play singleplayer or as a group of 4 – either as a team or “ripping your friends’ limbs off!”

Paradigm is a “surreal adventure game”, set in a post-apocalyptic fictional Eastern European country. In the game you play as “the handsome mutant, Paradigm, whose past comes back to haunt him in the form of a genetically engineered sloth that vomits candy.”

The two free games available now till April 28th are Amnesia: Rebirth and Riverbond. Amnesia: Rebirth is a singleplayer horror game in which players must piece together their past while trying to escape a fear-feeding creature. Riverbond is a voxel co-op game where players hack and slash their way through “cute but deadly” bosses.

Epic news

Since 2020, Epic have been giving out free games to players. In 2020, they gave away 103 free games and in 2021, they gave away 89. It is part of a continuing trend with Epic Games, whose business model seems driven by making things freely available for players and developers alike.

Last year, Epic acquired Artstation and the Arstation Learning platform was immediately made free for all users. Last month, Epic also acquired Bandcamp – although it remains unclear how this will affect the way Bandcamp operates.

Their Unreal Engine software is also free to use and earlier this month, Epic released Unreal Engine 5 for all users. The new software includes Lumen and Nanite technology that reduces, if not removes, the need for baking lighting or texture maps.

Developers can download Unreal Engine to make games or videos for free. According to the Unreal website: “A 5% royalty is due only if you are distributing an off-the-shelf product that incorporates Unreal Engine code (such as a game) and the lifetime gross revenue from that product exceeds $1 million USD; in this case, the first $1 million remains royalty-exempt.”

Metaverse

This business model for the makers of Fortnite seems to be working. They announced earlier this year that the Epic Store’s user count had risen to 194 million and that sales, at about $840 million, had risen 20% since 2020. Other companies also clearly see the value in Epic, with Sony investing $1 billion into Epic Games’ involvement in the Metaverse and Lego partnering with Epic to make the metaverse suitable for kids – with reports of also investing $1 billion into the company.

The wordle craze continues with a web-based clone for the massively popular battle royale game

It is impossible to deny the rapid success of Wordle. The word game has taken the internet by storm, as players fight to keep their streaks alive by carefully guessing the Wordle word of the day. The game even became popular enough to be purchased by The New York Times. With such success, comes imitations. With everything under the sun getting some sort of Wordle clone, why not Fortnite? That’s what the folks at Fortniteskins.com figured, and they have now created their own Fortnite-themed version of Wordle called Fortle that you can now place once per day.

Unlike some other Wordle clones, the rules here are identical, it’s just that the word list is Fortnite themed instead of using all 2,000+ viable words from the New York Times version of the game. The colours have also received changes, to match the theme of Fortnite. Gold (like the legendary items) means you have the right letter in the right spot, purple (like epic items) means you have the right letter in the wrong spot. Grey is wrong letter, wrong spot.

Fortnite has managed to build up an impressive amount of content and story over the course of it’s first two chapters, and the three seasons of the current third chapter. As such, there’s a surprisingly high number of five letter words that fit within the game’s theming. BUILD, STONE, FORTS, SPIES, TREES, STORM, KNOCK, FIGHT, SPAWN, SCOPE, PHASE, CRANK etc. But if you’re having trouble, it also helps that the same website that Fortle is on houses the entire library of the Fortnite content that can easily be used as a mini cheat sheet if needed. Not that we encourage the very serious business that is cheating at Wordle.

As for Fortnite itself, the current Doctor Strange led season has been making a few waves by shaking up it’s core gameplay, by disabling it’s signature building mechanics. Chapter 3, season 2 involves warfare between factions on the ground, and we are starting to see IO blimps crash to the surface as a result of the fighting. Fortnite recently donated all proceeds from the first two weeks of the season to Ukraine relief (thanks to the war theme being very ill-timed), which raised an astonishing $144 million in just two weeks.

I’ve severely conflicted feelings on this new Fortnite season by Epic, to put it mildly.

On the one hand, I’m not the best at shooters, so being able to ramp up and make my own cover anywhere is pretty rad…

On the other hand, I can’t compete with the kind of players that can build the Sistine Chapel in half a nanosecond, so can’t complain too much.

On the other OTHER hand, I’m dropping this gag before I start looking like an Elden Ring boss. Specifically, this handsome devil:

Jokes aside, building will return to Fortnite March 29th (according to dataminers). From what I’ve played so far, the new features are a breath of fresh air and I’m looking forward to seeing how it meshes with building. What are the new features? I’m so glad I asked!

Tactical Sprint: Players now have a stamina bar, which drains with the usual sprint button (L3 on PS4). You can run faster, jump higher and further until it drains. Then it’ll recharge and ey-presto, back to the hardcore parkour!

Ledge climbing: It’s a good thing I play a lot of Assassin’s Creed! You don’t need a tactical sprinting jump to climb ledges, just jump up close to one and there you go.

Them Led Zeppelins Tho: Which is to say, giant floaty sky blimps are scattered across the map. The amount of loot on them is relatively sparse if you’re not the first on there, so land wisely. You can take a zip line up or down whenever you need to, or use the properly-sky-whirly contraptions on the side to glide off in another direction.

New Weapons… Or Rather, Old Weapons: Considering my gripes with the game removing tactical shotguns in exchange for the auto and strikers, it’s great to hear multiple classic guns have returned to the game!

Combat variations of Sub-Machine and Dom-Machine Guns have returned!

The Drum Shotgun is a favorite of mine.

The Thermal Scoped Machine Gun for all your Metal Gear Solid fantasies… Speaking of which: Given the game has a new-found focus on player movement systems, maybe a crawling prone skill would be a fine addition to the game. I imagine memelords everywhere would start T-Bagging on prone mates in co-op and end up accidentally getting the mechanic shut down for being inappropriate, but a guy can dream!

And last but not least, Overshields: Players have a 50-shield-point large rechargeable shield, giving a little extra help in combat if you’re low on health and about to attempt a stick-up at Condo Canyon because your trigger-happy ass didn’t think things through beforehand!

Friends! Gamers! Casuals! Lend me your eyes, ears, thumbs and other required organs for this (in no particular order) list of my favorite gaming shooters that got me into more high-level stuff as time went on. There are some mild ad-insertions, but all opinions expressed here are purely my own.

This is only limited to game’s I’ve currently played, but hopefully I’ll get into more of the greats later on sometime. Someday. Over the rainbo- LET’S DO THIS!

5: BroForce! To paraphrase Ben “Yahtzee” Croshaw of ‘Zero Punctuation’ fame, “I like shooting games, but I’m not very good at them. It’s opposite to the problem I have with blowjobs”. So lucky for me, BroForce is very much an ‘easy to learn, difficult to master’ experience, largely thanks to being a 2D platformer, so if you’ve ever played a Mario game, you’ll pick up the basic controls quickly. The characters being funny parodies of 80s action hero machismo also adds to an overall fun aesthetic and experience. I still howl with laughter every time the narrator shares his thoughts on “CamBROdia” or “RamBRO”.

Fortnite? More Like 4 t’nite: Yes, it can take a little while to get used to considering many players are of a decently high skill, but once you’ve had time to experiment with the different guns and such, there are three main tips I recommend to give you an edge.

First: Make like Obi-Wan-Kenobi and have the high ground! Once you’ve mined some material, flip to the ramp as your default building tool. That way, you can protect yourself, while making it harder for the other bloke to reach up at you.

Second: Make like the US education system and get into shootings regularly! Land at the first semi-crowded area, grab a half-decent boomstick or dom-machine-gun and rinse and repeat until you start getting better. Like percussive maintenance, but for people!

Third? We’ve got a metric fluff-tonne of Fortnite merch, feel free to have a butcher’s at it here!

3: The Last of “Ughs”: The story is a great one and even suitably tense at times, but The Last of Us is also a favorite shooter of mine because the campaign encourages slow methodical strategy. Sure, you can go guns-blazing if you’re good enough and have upgraded weapons, but in a first run-through, you’ll have to rely on stealth and keeping your distance just as much brawls and shootouts. The story’s tutorial sections are also helpful and fit in well with rewarding the player for taking their time analyzing the terrain and taking inventory. 2: Rad-Dad Redacted 2: Electric Boogaloo! Which is to say, yes. The game with the well-written flexible cowboy story and a worship of believable design to the point of realistically-implemented physics of horse bollocks happens to have decent gun-play too. The aim-assist is handy and the kick-back of different guns chunky like Moto Moto drenched in Marinara sauce!

1: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain! In the immortal words of the blokes form Cracked, “it’s like this game was made by a genius toddler”. Aim assist? Boom. A huge array of tools and weapons that’d make Doom Guy blush? You know it. Temporary slow-down-time Matrix powers that make stealth and action equally valid? Oddly specific, but YOU GOT IT! And forget realistically-shrinking horse-balls, your horse’s droppings can act as anti-vehicle mines that distract the driver long enough for you to highjack it for yourself!

The post My Top Shooters For Beginners: An Ode to Shooty Bang-Bangs first appeared on Get2Gaming.

Here we go again Fortnite fans! You’re being treated well this year already, aren’t you? In recognition of the upcoming Uncharted film, skins for our favourite Sony stars, Nathan Drake and Chloe Frazer, will be dropping into Fortnite on February 17. We imagine this is Epic Games late Valentines gift, no?

Fortnite fans will know that this crossover has been teased for over a week now, when players took the task of trying to solve a riddle with a 14 character password. Obviously, we all relished the opportunity to be put on our detective hats and try figure it out. Unfortunately, some of struggled, which is why creators like the @thesquatingdog come in handy. They managed to decipher the riddle, revealing that the password was ‘sicaparvismagna’.

What could this mean however? Well, those who have played the Uncharted games will recognise it as being the Latin phrase from Sir Francis Drake’s ring that Nathan Drake owns. Interestingly, it is also linked to the real life Sir Francis Drake too. Ain’t that exciting? Anyway, once the password is entered, users are taken to an unlisted video on Fortnite’s YouTube channel that shows the Outfits in action. Both Film And Game Versions of Uncharted Arriving On The Island

Not only will be receiving the game accurate versions of the two infamous characters, it has been revealed we will also get the film iterations of them too! This means that once again we’ll see Tom Hollands Fortnite face, following up upon his appearance  as the webslinger Spider-Man. If you want to know who else appeared from the Spider-Man roster, check out this quick article here!

According to reports, the different styles can be switched at any time in the Locker, so that’ll be extremely handy! Additionally, it looks like Chloe’s outfit will also be sold with her Pack Back Bling, with other items including the Second Hand Saber Pickaxe, Parashurama Axe Pickaxe, and Update Journal Emote. There’s plenty of Uncharted fun to be had here it seems!

Furthermore, it looks like there could some more treats in store. The YouTube description also teases that, “after Nathan Drake spends some time on the Island, he’ll leave behind some treasure maps for you.” Once a map is discovered, it will lead players to buried treasure that can be dug up with a Pickaxe. Epic Games says the Uncharted items will appear in Fortnite’s item shop on February 17th, just ahead of the Uncharted movie release. Another day, another Marvel character added to Fortnite. Same old, same old. After the additions of Clint Barton and Kate Bishop earlier this week, it looks like another iconic Marvel character has finally been confirmed. It’s none other than Spider-Man’s archenemy- The Green Goblin!

The popular free-to-play Battle Royale is arriving at the midway stage of its first season of Chapter 3. So far, we’ve seen a whole new island, Spider-Man swing in and even an Arcane character! However, this is when things get serious- with the Goblin gliding in on the action.

This exciting news come from Fortnite’s official website, which details the fun reason why Green Goblin has appeared on the island. Apparently, he received a top-off form The Daily Bugle regarding Spider-Man’s whereabouts and got himself over to the island immediately. Obviously, he won’t be needing to jump out the bus, with his own glider getting him over of course.

Fortnite Green Goblin Not Based On Willem Dafoe Design

After Willem Dafoe put in another stellar performance as the Goblin in No Way Home, it only seems appropriate he’d be the villain making the crossover into the Fortnite Universe. Whilst this one is more comic-accurate than the Willem Dafoe version, that won’t make him any less amazing.

Green Goblin comes with an array of themed accessories, like the Pumpkin Bomb Back Bling, Pumpkin P’axe, Goblin Glider, and the Arm the Pumpkin! Emote. Despite all the pumpkin theming, the Pumpkin Launcher unfortunately remains vaulted, which would certainly be a perfect match.

Who can’t wait for this one then? I certainly can’t! Green Goblin is undoubtedly one of the best supervillains ever, so to see him in any sort of media is a treat! Could we see him appear the upcoming Spider-Man game too? Who knows? He’s not the only addition fans are demanding in the sequel! Fortnite has been going Marvel crazy in the last couple weeks! After No Way Home released last month, we saw the addition of our favourite webslinger hitting the iconic Fortnite map. It certainly looks like there is going to be more to come, that’s for sure.

As we all know by now, Fornite leaks are nothing new. As such, they tend to be quite reliable. The latest leaks seem to suggest a trio of high-profile crossovers set to make their introduction to the iconic Epic Games franchise. The likes of Marvel’s Green Goblin and Hawkeye as well as Riot’s Arcane, are all set to appear in the Item Shop this month.

Safe to say we can’t wait to see this unfold! As we’re so kind down here at go2games, we’ll give you a quick breakdown on each different skin, so you know exactly what to expect. Aren’t we just the kindest?

Fortnite VI Skin – Arcane Crossover Returns

Let’s start with the one Non-Marvel property on the list! Previously, we’ve seen the Jinx skin from Riot Games make an appearance in the Fortnite universe. This was the first time a Riot Games character appeared in a non-Riot game, so it’s about time another one joined them! According to credible source, it seems that Vi will be the next character to join the fun.

For those unfamiliar with the series, Vi is Jinx’s sister in the series which takes place in the world of League of Legends. Unfortunately, we don’t know exactly when she’ll be making her appearance, but expect it to be soon! Arcane fans get prepared now!

Fortnite Hawkeye Skins

Additionally, we have seen the likes of Marvel characters taken straight from their own hit series. It seems Hawkeye has just gotten in on the Fortnite Marvel frenzy. Whilst it may have sounded strange at first, it looks like the rumours are true after all!

Both Clint and Kate Bishop will be joining in on the action, and will come accompanied with many accessories. They are also likely to be based on their MCU counterparts as we’ve seen with Spider-Man and MJ in the past.  Therefore, it seems to suggests that they’ll be sold in a bundle on the Item shop.

Green Goblin Skin Finally Arriving

Here we go everyone, this is the big one! After Willem Dafoe put in another stellar performance as the Goblin in No Way Home, it only seems appropriate he’d be the villain making the crossover into the Fortnite Universe. Whilst this one is more comic-accurate than the Willem Dafoe version, that won’t make him any less amazing.

Fortnite fans will be well aware of the potential introduction for the Goblin, especially since he is currently featured in an Easter egg on the Fortnite island. We cannot waiting to be gliding around the Island playing as him. We’re sure you can’t either!
