Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick discusses the troubles of including real life brands into the ever expanding world of GTA online

Brand Collaborations are all the range in the video game world these days, with the likes of Fortnite, Fall Guys and the assortment of sports games such as FIFA and NBA 2K all jumping on the brand integration train with success so it’s surprise that probably the biggest video game of the past decade Grand Theft Auto V that doesn’t wasn’t to go with the wave of other games. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has suggested that players shouldn’t expect to see any brand inclusion anytime soon.

The world of GTA is a fictional world, so to bring real-life brands in, they really have to be iconic and they have to fit within that world, Zelnick says.

It’s very much a creative decision driven by the team at Rockstar. It’s not a financial decision.

Zelnick said NBA and PGA (games that are under the Take-Two umbrella) lend themselves to big clothing brands while GTA Online is a fictional world and to add real life brands to that they have to be iconic and fit within that world. The GTA Series and the online section of the game has always been known for parodying brands and pop culture moments so to add real life brands would look out of place in the vibrant land of Los Santos.

The real question is, does GTA need to include real life brands into their ever changing world? the answer is…no, as of time of writing GTA has made over $6 billion. An obscene number that companies around the world couldn’t even imagine let alone from one singular game that came out in 2013. GTA 5‘s wider success is largely down to GTA Online, making $800 million on shark cards alone, the player base can buy in-game currency with these shark cards to buy property, clothes and cars in the world. In it’s latest full-year earnings report Take-Two claimed that GTA 5 has shipped over 165 million copies of the game since it’s release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, lasting through 3 generations of consoles including Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.

The GTA train keeps on rolling with the GTA Trilogy: the Definitive Edition was released last November with remastered versions of industry changing titles of GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas but it came with largely negative reviews because of the poor state the game was released with many glitches some of them crashing the game. But the shining light is with improvements and many patches being introduced over the last couple of months the game has been an enjoyable experience for many and the Trilogy capitalises on the one thing that gamers love, nostalgia!

That’s right folks, during the latest GTAV Online Contract DLC missions, a surprised player happened upon a glitch that magically gave their female character a big beautiful bushy beard! I hi-lariously dub this ‘the Ladybeard glitch’, in loving reference to pro-wrestler and stunt man, Ladybeard. For more on him, have a butcher’s at this podcast interview with the lad, tis a fun watch.

On the GTA Online subreddit, user FudgeControl shared an image of their player character sitting alongside Franklin Clinton (one of the three story mode protagonists of GTAV)… I’m sorry, but if you’ll indulge my lizard-brain tendency to find connections in everything, is it me or is FudgeControl’s character not the spitting image of soy-hater (and soy salesman) Paul Joseph Watson? Food for thought folks!

Rockstar Games (to my knowledge) has not addressed how this hi-larious glitch came about, but players have theorised it may be to do with having multiple custom characters in the GTAV Online Mode.

Some players also reported having their character’s makeup and hair (facial and otherwise) transported onto other characters in cutscenes! I mean, imagine Franklin walking down the street with a blonde Karen haircut and asking to speak to the manager at Shaft Hotdogs because it tasted more like JK Rowling than Jammidodger!

Female custom characters don’t normally have access to facial hair options in GTAV, so ironically enough, the devs at Rockstar kinda shot themselves in the foot as far as a potential solution to the problem goes. I mean, if woman characters were able to have beards all along, then FudgeControl could’ve just flipped a switch on the character creation board and called it a day. There’s also been some discussion among fans that it’s a shame the option to have bearded women doesn’t really exist in GTAV or Red Dead Redemption 2, some of the biggest Rockstar games of all time. I mean, the devs at RDR2 especially make such a big song and dance about realism that they implemented true-to-life shrinking horse-bollocks for Sobek‘s sake! So, I’m pretty sure incorporating facial hair for all the Lettie Lutzes of the world wouldn’t be too much more of a stretch.

Besides new cosmetic options and outfits, GTA Online hasn’t announced any plans for new facial hair options.

GTA 5 is available now on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions in development.

GTA V Online is still alive and well. It continues to maintain an astounding concurrent player count and Rockstar, as a result, continue to add content to it. I mean, it is about to be remastered across three different generations of consoles, an unprecedented feat.

Rockstar’s latest expansion, named The Contract, is due to land today. The Contract will kick off a couple of years after the main story’s ending. Players will be tasked with assisting Franklin while he sets up his new business, an agency that solves celebrities’ problems. Considering it’s Los Santos, the plan is unlikely to go smoothly, and players will find themselves in the middle of another thrilling adventure.

Though the expansion focuses on the new storyline, it also comes with new cars, but not as plentiful as Los Santos Tuners.

The Contract will be available for download on Dec. 15 across all platforms for free. Rockstar Games hasn’t officially stated when players can start downloading the new expansion but based on previous releases, it should come around 9am GMT. Download times may vary upon launch since a decent portion of the player base will try to install it as soon as it goes live.

In other news, October and November have seen some big next-gen titles released, including Call of Duty: Vanguard, Battlefield 2042, FIFA 22, Far Cry 6, and Left 4 Dead’s spiritual successor, Back 4 Blood. Oh, Rockstar. Honey. Baby. My darling GTA holes. Corporate Uncritical Networking Teams of epic proportions! We NEED to talk… Just, in general, like, wanna get a pint after reading? Your treat, of course.

To briefly summarize before we get to the news: Rockstar has been making so much money from GTA 5 and GTA Online that they’re basically the Disney of gaming companies, in that they don’t really have to try too hard to make stuff anymore because that Scrooge McDuckian money pool isn’t exactly going anywhere! After 8 years of expansions to GTA 5 Online (psst, which we have!) we now get the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition.

Criticisms range from bugs and glitches to strange spelling mistakes from a corner-cutting AI of samurai proportions and- THE BURGER DOESN’T SPIN!? And I’m sorry, “the taste of a real man’s heat” sounds more like a bikram yoga joint than a hotdog place! If I wanted to taste a man’s heat, I’d glaze myself in hot sauce and become a contortionist!

GTA 6: The Good, The Bad and the Ugly: Known leaker who covers titles from Rockstar and Quantic Dreams games (AccNGT) has recently aired some concerns on Twitter regarding how ‘Some people don’t realize how chaotic the development is’, also claiming that although the visuals will be high-quality, it will be a disappointment if it were to release next year.

While Naughty Dog and Rockstar have been known to get their hands dirty with crunch time issues (which you can find out more on here), given the recent announcement of the Dr Dre expansion for GTA, I doubt even Rockstar would confirm anything for GTA 6 this soon.

AccNGT doesn’t clarify if they’re talking about the gameplay or story mode being the main things to suffer.

Other leakers have claimed that GTA 6 allegedly started production shortly after former co-founder and writer Dan Houser left Rockstar. His departure has lead to Rockstar’s parent company Take-Two to dropping in stocks, so GTA 6 may well end up being the Metal Gear Survive of the Grand Theft Auto universe if this is true.

One fan finds a debug command that enables you to play Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas in first person

Recently, a player had discovered a debug command for GTA VR whilst playing on the newly released, Grand Theft Auto: Trilogy – The Definitive Edition which was released November 11^th.

With video proof circulating around the internet, courtesy of @videotech_ via Twitter. The video shows the player running around in first person view on the Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas remaster on the Trilogy. In the video also, the debug menu is used which then first person is activated.

In the video, you can see that it is a very bugged and rough setting with the VR not being performed accurately. The player enters a vehicle, and it changes back to the default third person view with the game looking very glitchy. It was particularly bugging when in first person view, the player tried looking down with the view seeing through the characters’ body.

There is a debug Unreal command for GTA VR but it looks a little bit unfinished. Maybe it would be cool if they implemented this as a first-person option? It plays pretty well. Gunfights and punching will need tweaking, would be super cool for screenshots! pic.twitter.com/pxq5ivwGOA

Fans seem to believe that by connecting dots that this has to do with the upcoming Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas VR title from developer Video Games Deluxe. With others thinking it is a test run for another Rockstar Games Game.

VR on Grand Theft Auto would probably be a good idea. With how GTA is often compared to real life it would bring an interesting experience to the VR realm. If these rumours are true, with the bad reception that Grand Theft Auto: Trilogy – The Definitive Edition has received; this could brighten up the game and make into something big. Rockstar Games look to make improvements on the GTA Trilogy, having already apologised to the players for how the game released. This very well could be one of the future improvements; Keep looking out for further news!

The remastered version of the Grand Theft Auto classics comes out in a week with the required file size information now being revealed.

Grand Theft Auto: Trilogy – The Definitive Edition being a combination of Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto Vice City and Grand Theft Auto San Andreas all in one game, has been the topic of discussion in the gaming community for the last few months. With various leaks and rumours coming out and leading up to the official reveal.

With the GTA community anticipating news on GTA outside GTA V, the news on the trilogy gave fans something to be excited about, even if it is not on GTA 6.

With the game being a week from release, the file size has been revealed with the download size being just under 23 GB.

This size doesn’t come at much of a surprise as the game is a remaster from the PlayStation 2 sensations. Remasters tend to come at a lot less file size compared to other actual newer gen games. With the changes of the games not being much more significant even though it is a Rockstar game, the file size sounds accurate.

The file size stands at around 23 GB without a day one patch. The size will inevitably increase as increased graphics, late additions and many more patches will come into place later down the line after release.

It has been shared that the file size on Nintendo Switch stands at a higher 25.4 GB. With, the console versions are said to become the bigger sized file which updates to come. Concerning PlayStation, the PS4 and PS5 versions of the Trilogy will come to around 38GB, assuming there are now day 1 patches, as revealed by PlayStation Game Size on Twitter.

Finally, the sizes of the 3 games, broken down. Grand Theft Auto III starts at 5.29GB with Grand Theft Auto Vice City coming at 10.76GB. With lastly Grand Theft Auto San Andreas coming at the highest with 22.67GB.

Grand Theft Auto: Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is set for release digitally on November 11^th on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. With physical copies releasing on December 7^th.

Rockstar Games have finally announced the release date for its highly anticipated remastered trilogy

It’s been a long time coming ever since it was rumoured that the extremely popular Grand Theft Auto franchise would be receiving a remastered trilogy of the series’ classic games for current consoles. We had received so many rumours and leaks regarding the trilogy before Rockstar Games announced the game officially two weeks ago.

And now Rockstar Games has finally, finally announced the date we can expect the trilogy as well as a trailer depicting its footage.

I know, it’s a lot to take in.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is a remaster of the 2005 collection that features the games Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas– and it’s the 20th anniversary of Grand Theft Auto III today so the news is a great birthday treat for us all to enjoy.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition will be released digitally on November 11 for PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC, and the physical edition will be released on December 6 for PS4, Xbox One, Xbox X/S.

The cost? £54.99.

It might seem a tad expensive, but there are still 3 games up for grabs that have all been digitally adapted by Grove Street Games, which has previously successfully ported GTA games to mobile devices.

Rockstar Games has even released a trailer that shows the first footage of the remasters with transitional snippets to compare against the original trilogy.

Of course, the games are ranging from 17 to 20 years old, so the animation still might not be cutting edge technology, but you can certainly tell the difference when watching the trailer

Rockstar Games officially announced Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition on October 8^th after months of leaks and speculations. It being one of the worst kept secrets with tons of leaks and news on it coming out. Fans are yet to know how much it will cost to purchase the game. Now, GTA being one of the most anticipated releases every release comes with the price always starting at a high, but the price of the Trilogy may interest fans if the leaks are accurate.

Base.com is an online company that sells electronic forms of entertainment including games, gaming gadgets, cameras, gaming accessories and more. They have listed on their site that they are accepting pre orders of the GTA Trilogy. The Trilogy selling for $60/£55 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch and selling for $70/£65 on newer gen consoles, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X meaning the game will sell for full retail price. This leak has not been confirmed by Rockstar Games by any means so this could very well be false, but it doesn’t come at much surprise to us with how highly anticipated the game is.

It appears the GTA Trilogy is going to cost the full $70 on current gen, $60 on last gen.

The pricing may come at a surprise to fans as remastered games tend to release at a lesser price but with the Grand Theft Auto Trilogy being such an anticipated release with also the fact it’s a Rockstar Games release lessens the surprise. Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is an example of a game that sold for a lesser price with the game including more defined graphics compared to the original. With the 3 titles, Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto Vice City and Grand Theft Auto San Andreas’ graphics and visuals being very outdated, significantly improved graphics are amongst things expected on the GTA Trilogy. Also, with the achievement icons being leaked previously fans are expecting achievements and trophies too. We are sure with the alleged pricing will come other features and additions that will be worth the boosted cost.

With Rockstar Games announcing the Grand Theft Auto Trilogy, the GTA community are yet to see an official trailer or confirmed released date. Many fans speculating the release of the trailer to be October 22^nd, with that being the 20^th anniversary of Grand Theft Auto III, one of the games in the trilogy bundle. Fans also estimate that the games release could be as soon as November 11^th with rumours pointing towards that date. Remember that all of this is unconfirmed news that we are calculating from leaks and rumours. Nothing is concrete until Rockstar Games confirm it themselves. We also, as fans sit and wait for confirmations and official statements from Rockstar Games.

GTA, formerly known as Grand Theft Auto, is one of the most popular gaming franchises ever to be created with it being amongst the top for several years. Consistently engaging the eyes and attention of gamers of all types with its releases of different variety including different story lines, different characters, different styles of missions, different dialogues and many more. Three of the most enjoyed classic GTA releases, those being Grand Theft Auto 3, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and most popular out of the three, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas are looking set to be released in a Trilogy structure with all three being remastered and available to play on newer gen platforms. Now you are probably thinking what you are looking at and how does it prove anything. Well, it shows that “Grand Theft Auto III – Unreal, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City – Unreal and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – Unreal”, will all be remastered with the Unreal Engine. As highlighted in the leaks, this shows that they are in the works, this all being in the Rockstar Launcher. This is all after rumours already being spread that Rockstar games will be using the Unreal engine to remaster the Trilogy which brings more reason to why this is more concrete as the dots continue connecting.

This being another interesting source on this, showing that the game titled, “Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition”, which is the confirmed title for the trilogy, has already been rated in South Korea. Now if this doesn’t indicate the release being imminent then I’m not sure what else will!

This leak shows the achievement icons that will feature on the game. These were leaked and uploaded to GTAForums. This means that we may be seeing updated achievements if true.

What is next to look out for from Grand Theft Auto?

Although these leaks are all not 100% until Rockstar officially release details, they do highly indicate that a Grand Theft Auto: Trilogy is being worked on and may even be the next release out of the Grand Theft Auto firm. As more features continue to be added onto GTA V, engaging the fans in many ways and with Grand Theft Auto VI being one of the most anticipated and looked out for releases, this suppresses the hype around that, drawing more attention towards giving the Grand Theft Auto community their favourite classics remastered. We are sure more leaks about the trilogy will continue to be leaked alongside leaks for the long awaited GTA VI. So, we suggest keeping on the lookout as the next Grand Theft Auto release could be a lot sooner than you think. Well… the next release after the already confirmed and announced Grand Theft Auto title, being Grand Theft Auto V, versions for PS5 and Xbox Series XIS being set to be released next march.

Rockstar Games have announced there are 3 GTA classic remasters in the works and will be available on ALL platforms

No, there’s still no news on GTA VI (despite how it was trending on Twitter due to this story). However, this is still something for fans to get excited about.

Rockstar Games are planning the release of three classics GTA games and it has been confirmed they will be available on all gaming platforms including Nintendo Switch.

The games that are being remastered are Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

GTA Remastered Trilogy

Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas were all originally released on PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360, with GTA III celebrating its 20th anniversary this year and the developers, followed with Vice City and San Andreas one and three years later.

Kotaku reports the three games are in development at Rockstar Dundee, previously known as Ruffian Games, and are in the final stages of development. It is unclear what the remastered elements will consist of, but it has been reported Rockstar Dundee are also working on GTA V remaster for the next-gen consoles that is coming out on November 11, so it can be expected they will be similar to that.

The remakes are being made for all platforms, including the Nintendo Switch, making these three games the first third-person GTA games available on a Nintendo console.

This follows on from the news that Take-Two, the GTA parent publisher, stated they also have 3 unannounced remasters in development, however, these GTA titles are not what they were hinting at as it was stated by CEO Strauss Zelnick that any GTA remasters would be announced by Rockstar, so more titles from Take-Two are still to be announced.
